CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS BLOCK BILL THAT SUPPORTS OUR VETERANS

Support our troops?  Only when it helps the GOP in elections.  Apparently.

Yes.  We have a deficit.  But shouldn't we help those who sacrificed for us?  Can't we cut spending else where?

From Think Progress:

This is pretty low, even for Republicans,” the Washington Monthly’s Steve Benen said. While Murray pledged to continue to fight for the bill’s passage, Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) spokesperson said “Republicans have their priorities backwards — according to them, it’s OK to give tax breaks to CEOs who send American jobs overseas, but not to help out-of-work Americans and homeless veterans.”

It's SHAMEFUL, SHAMEFUL!! The GOP will face their constituents and hopefully get kicked in the face for the disgusting things they are doing to Americans!

Sue's right. All they need to do is lean over and we'll honor them by leaving a big footprint in their posterior. I'd really be surprised if this improved their chances at the polls.

Well, I guess the republicans are consistent in one respect. They did not provide the troops with the equipment they needed to fight the war, and they are not providing the support they need when they come home -- particularly if they are injured and/or homeless.

Remember folks, look at what the republicans do (or don't do), not at what they say.

Sue and tnlib,

The GOP slap "Support the Troops" yellow ribbons over themselves and use the military as a prop when campaigning. Then turn their back on them in their need.

JC, you said it. It's interesting to observe that there's always money for a weapons program, but fiscal concerns pop up where humans are involved.

Coburn and McConnell.

What statesmen. What giants of the Senate.

Watching clowns like this and pygmies like Orrin Hatch and John Kyl denegrating Thurgood Marshall the other day during the Kagan hearings remind me once again, as if one needed further reminding just how bankrupt the GOP is.

Republicans say the dumbest things, I think based on the idea, that the public soon forgets.
If we expect these politicians to speak from the gutter, they will.
We need to let them know, that we expect, demand better representation.

What is another shame of this situation is still, VFW Halls around the Nation will be filled with Veterans who hate Democrats and Obama because these lying bastard republicans have FOX News repeating over and over that we're commies or Obama is a socialist. While the promises they were made are broken by republicans.

Same deal with farmers. All their government goodies are from Democrats. I don't know how it is anywhere else but I can think of three out of the thousands of farmers in my part of the country who are Democrats. The rest of the are big government hatin, tea bag totin republicans that love their welfare and set asides.

We have the ammo with all the crap Boehner's been saying about Social Security and other stuff. The people that run the DNC need to do a better job convincing ther idiots that tyhe republicans are evil and hate Working America. There is no need for shame because the republicans are evil and hate Working America.
