BENGHAZI!, Part the Gazillionth

Another person in the media has the integrity to apologize for promoting lies about BENGHAZI! to the American people.  Of course we'll never read anything about the House Intelligence Committee's findings on any of the rabid Obama-hating blogs or from the loud-mouthed, fact-free punditry that kept at this non-scandal, hoping it would turn into something, ANYTHING.

And yes, I'll be blogging about this for a while because the folks on the right who sold a pack of lies to themselves, their blogging fans, and the American people, will not.

An Open Letter of Apology to the United States of America

After two years of investigations, endless hours of hearings, and at least one concussion, the Republican-led Intelligence Committee has finally admitted what many of us knew all along: that the Obama administration did nothing wrong in Benghazi; that the White House, CIA and State Department did not deliberately mislead the American people on Benghazi; and that the Obama administration did everything it could to respond to Benghazi in a timely and appropriate manner.

Now, like many members of the media, I enjoy entertaining my audience with exciting topics and stimulating conversation. But unlike many members of the media, I will not resort to lies, myths and misinformation to do it. I will not accuse the President of doing things he never did, and I will not become so blinded with delusional, partisan hatred that I will say anything to get you to listen to my show. And that's why I'd like to apologize to you, the people of the United States of America. It seems like I'm the exception to the norm.

For too long, too many of my colleagues have been spinning lies, myths and misinformation about Benghazi. We fixated on Benghazi. We obsessed with Benghazi. We wouldn't let Benghazi go. And it turns out we were wrong about almost everything concerning Benghazi. We told you the President was covering up what happened in Benghazi. We told you the President didn't have a "shred of integrity" on Benghazi. We told you the President was providing "cover" for the terrorists who killed four Americans in Benghazi. We told you that the President could have helped the four Americans who were killed in Benghazi, but instead ordered the military to "stand down." Heck, we even told you the President's Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, faked a concussion just to avoid testifying on Benghazi!

And after two years of trying our best to convince you that all these things were true, it turns out that we, the media, were the ones who were lying. According to the House Intelligence Committee's report, there were no intelligence failures leading up to the attack; no stand-down order was ever given; intelligence on who carried out the attacks, and why, was muddled at best; and the White House did not deliberately mislead the American people on anything. So the media was wrong, and the White House was right. Still, many of us in the media won't admit it. Therefore, I'd like to apologize to you.

If the Republican wingnuts will not believe their own report, who, or what, will they believe?

The Right has gone into paroxysms righteous indignation, because no scandal came out of the Benghazi investigations. That is because the Right wants to focus almost exclusively on SCANDAL or SCANDAL in its almost maniacal drive to force government-generated investigations and useless committee hearings on the country.

Be not deceived by these wiley hypocrites.

A run down on the foolishness of the talkies the left loves to hammer. Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, and other mentions.

Like we needed an apology from this guy. Patiently waiting on the aforementioned individuals to weigh in personally with an apology.

The wingnuts can't tell the difference between the Bush twins, who were photographed falling-down drunk and accused of underage drinking, the Palin daughter, who got involved in a drunken-brawl and can be heard on tape every other word the f-bomb, and the Obama girls, who are well-behaved young girls and how the Bush twins and Palin's daughter behaved. That's the difference. But apparently the distinction is lost on lunkheads whose IQs are bit below that of a bag of hair.

Jerry, the TeaPublicans will not believe anything good about this president, even, it sadly turns out, the fact that he's raising two lovely daughters. That GOP aide to a U.S. Rep. didn't say those awful things about Sasha and Malia in a vacuum, she's probably heard it many times over in her insular TeaPublican world.

JCMS (why that name?) Yes, the Right is belligerent and outraged over the fact that no scandal was found by their own investigative committee. That really angered them into a silly rage.

RN, neither the extremist blow-hards in the media nor the extremist blow-hard bloggers will EVER publish on this subject. It's too embarrassing for them to acknowledge how desperately wrong they were.

Anon, that comment should have been in a thread below this one, but I'll leave it here.

Great graphic, Shaw, Lawton resigned.

""I reacted to an article and quickly judged the two young ladies in a way that I would never have wanted to be judged myself as a teenager," Lauten wrote. "After many hours of prayer, talking to my parents and re-reading my words online, I can see more clearly how hurtful my words were. Please know that these judgmental feelings truly have no place in my heart."

How's that for an apology? Many hours of prayer taught her that calling a couple of decent teenagers "sluts" isn't godly.
Who says Teabags are unteachable?

When do they apologize for pumping up the Ebola scare?

Interesting that Republican Senator Graham called the report from the GOP Committee crap.

I assume because it did not arrive at the proper conclusion.

Interesting that in Ferguson, the group that heard the evidence is God like in the divination of the truth, at least to conservatives.

Yet in this instance, because the group that heard the truth came to a conclusion conservatives did not like, they reject the findings.

Now before Les hits me on it, I will admit that yes, in this case, the left is totally guilty of the same type of inconsistencies, but at least I am willing to say it.

Show me a right leaning partisan that will admit to this inconsistency.

In regards to the acknowledgement... Your honesty is beyond reproach Dave. I respect that as well as admire it.

The right is inconsistent and it has become quite widespread of late.

Here's the thing, Ducky, the Bush twins acted out, under age drinking, drunk. They're not the only ones who've done that. Probably most U.S. teens have. Palin's daughter, out-of-wedlock baby, and drunken brawling. Yeah, not that unusual for U.S. teens, young adults either. So what's the deal?

President Obama's girls have not been involved in any of that. NOTHING. NONE. NADA. Yet that unfortunate Lauten woman couldn't get past her anti-Obama ideology and felt she had to lecture the Obama girls on their behavior, which was angelic, compared with the Bush twins' and the Palin daughter. That's what's stupid in this whole controversy.

Lauten didn't need to be fired from her job, IMO. But she needed to be told to do some introspection on why she felt it was okay to attack two perfectly nice girls.

It's Obama Derangement Syndrome Stupid! And the TeaPublicans are marinating in it, to the point that it makes them look like hate zombies.

Dave, here's my take:

The GOP BENGHAZI! committee hearings ALL came out with the same findings: No cover-up, no stand-down order. All of the findings found NOTHING!

The grand jury finding in the Michael Brown case has been criticized by the left AND THE RIGHT as a deviation from normal grand jury proceedings.

That's the difference. It has nothing to do with the Liberals accepting one committee finding and not the other. One committee finding, the Republican House Select Committee were unanimous in their finding that no scandal was evident. The Michael Brown grand jury has been criticized by people on both sides as unusual in its method and finding.

Never. The wingnuts were WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! AGAIN on that issue, but you'll never hear them talk about how unhinged and stupid their reactions were. Facts, of course, are indisputable. THERE WAS NO EBOLA EPIDEMIC IN THIS COUNTRY. The ebola epidemic lived only in their easily duped brains.

Every country has the burden of having to deal with low-information gangs. We seem to have more than our share. Just go and re-read those blogs you visit to see how dumb their reactions were.

Right after they apologize for the birth-certificate stuff and "death panels" and the IRS nonsense and deliberately misquoting "you didn't build that" and that picture showing the White House lawn covered with watermelons and claiming Obama plays too much golf and calling his executive orders lawless and lauding the murderous gangster who rules Russia as a better leader. Those apologies, in turn, will be delivered shortly after Satan starts commuting to work on a snowmobile.

Lauten didn't need to be fired from her job, IMO.

If it had been an ordinary job, no. But she was communications director for a Congressman. If you insist on saying something that makes you instantaneously radioactive, you can't function in a job like that because the controversy will drown out whatever you're trying to do for your boss, and eventually engulf him too.

Trying to understand Conservatives is like trying to understand the ravings of a crazy man. Impossible and futile.

The government's official grand jury decision on Wilson/Ferguson was no finding for an indictment.

Conservatives are pleased and ecstatic about it.

The government's official House Select Committee investigating Bengazi returned a finding that there is no scandal and no cover-up.

Conservatives scream bloody hell! The finding is wrong!

If anything doesn't go their way it's either a cover-up, a fix, or a bloody lie.

You can't make sense out of a group of people that have no sense.

Loonies and cry-babies.
