This Is What...

Low-Information WATBs* call "destroying this country."

Why?  Because it's so much easier to cling to one's hatreds and lies than to open one's eyes and see reality--the sort of reality that proves you've been wrong, wrong, WRONG, about everything FAUX NOOZ and the Extreme Right Wing Noise Machine has been telling you.

And he has done this in the face of total republican refusal to help. They have been willing to sacrifice the American people in order to make Obama a failure. The result? Republicans are the failure.

To all the sillies on the right who slobbered over bare-chested Pootie-Poot and his "strongman" macho aura? Ha!

Wrong again! Obama's strategy worked, and Obama is the politician who is in a position of strength, while Pootie is watching his economy tank:

David Ignatius of the WaPo

All of these actions have Republican members of Congress sputtering. But what are they going to do? Sue him? Actually, they’re already trying that over Obamacare — reinforcing the public’s impression that the GOP would rather criticize than govern.
What characterizes Obama’s recent moves is that they’re cautious but deliberate. He’s still a president who doesn’t like to take major risks, with the exception of covert actions to kill terrorists or free hostages, where he has been arguably more aggressive than any predecessor. He governs in minor chords, disdainful of the cymbal-crashing rhetoric of military intervention.

The real test of Obama’s approach is with Russia: Through the spring, as President Vladimir Putin grew ever more belligerent in Ukraine, Obama kept open what he liked to call the “offramp,” even as he added sanctions against Moscow and gathered a skittish European coalition to punish Russia. As critics wailed about U.S. passivity, administration officials noted that Russia was digging its own grave. Its economy was too weak to support Putin’s expansionism.

Now, it looks as if Obama may have been right that sanctions (reinforced by collapsing oil prices) would ultimately put Putin under severe pressure. Russia’s 19th-century-style putsch gave an illusion of strength, but 21st-century economic power is likely to have more lasting impact.

Will we hear those on the right admit their stupidity in praising Putin (I'm looking at Julie Annie, a noun, a verb, and 9/11).

They can never admit their foolish mistakes and predictions.

Remember their predictions on BENGHAZI! (It was supposed to be Mr. Obama's "Watergate" moment.)

Remember EBOLA! (No countrywide scourge of the disease as the righties had predicted.)

Putin outshining Obama? Heh. Putin's more likely up to his ears in sh*t AND shinola, thanks to Mr. Obama's strategies.

When your only raison d'etre is to bash Mr. Obama, and you're blinded by that hatred, you'll always get it wrong.

Well played, Mr. Obama. You will have the last laugh.

from your link:

"Objectively, Russia is weak and has many vulnerabilities, including a society that isn’t fully in sync with Putin’s hyper-chauvinism,” former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski said in an interview. As the ruble falls and Russia’s economy buckles, “its leaders are beginning to ask: How do we get out of this?” The wild card is “how much disconnect from reality is there” with a vain Russian leader whose strutting, bare-chested antics are similar to those of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini."

The right has always been fascinated by strongman fascism. Nothing's changed. America's right wing still has a not so secret bromance with that sort of element.

Wow Shaw everything you posted here is so spot on . And the right has people believing that Obama is the problem
Good Job.

Shaw, Shaw, Shaw get a grip.

Russia is so last season.

Right now he's responsible for the failure of Sony's corporate computer security. I'm sure Darrell Issa will be scheduling hearings in the very near future.

It is surprising that so little is being said about the corner Putin's been backed into.

Ducky: "It is surprising that so little is being said about the corner Putin's been backed into."

No more surprising than when certain right wing bloggers swooned over bare-chested Putin riding a horse looking like a slavic Mussolini. They all drooled over their KGB hero, who is now, as you point out, backed into a corner by Mr. Obama.

Those folks on those blogs can't stand to see the president succeed because it makes them look like the gullible chumps that they truly are.

I'm curious - why do presidents get credit and blame for economic indicators? What do presidents do to change the economy?

Other than start or fail to end unfunded undeclared wars (against the Constitution).

Where is the outrage on the right about two cops being murdered.
They are so consumed with their Obama phobia that they don't care that cops lives matter.
N

Shaw Kenawe said...

N., there is outrage, and the blame for the murder of the two policemen is being placed on peaceful protesters.

The blame for the murders of the two policemen lies with the murderer, who apparently killed his girlfriend then took the lives of two innocent policemen, then killed himself. Obviously mentally ill. His crimes have nothing to do with revenge killings. He's just another mentally ill person with a gun.

A not unusual tragedy in this country.

Howard, I would say that consumer confidence has something, I don't know how much, to do with people spending their money. Check out where it was when Mr. Obama took office in 2009 and where it is today. I think that indicates something.

There is outrage about the two cops being killed. But the killer is dead, and the killer wasn't supposed to be a public servant.

I expect better from the government. I demand better grand juries, I expect and demand better cops. I demand (but don't expect) better politicians.

William Rivers Pitt:

"Some asshole shoots up a school and kills a pile of kids...and I lament the event and bring up the excessive preponderance of guns in our society...and I get accused of politicizing a tragedy.

Some asshole shoots two cops, and the former fa-chrissakes Governor of New York says "Sickened by these barbaric acts, which sadly are a predictable outcome of divisive anti-cop rhetoric of Eric Holder and Mayor de Blasio" because people are peacefully protesting excessive police violence...and that's NOT politicizing a tragedy?

Jesus.

I have said it a thousand times, and will likely have to say it a thousand times again until the lesson takes hold for all to hear:

The single greatest political strength of these right-wing fuckwits is their utter and complete lack of shame. They will say anything - literally anything - if they think it will move the ball a few yards down the field in their favor.

Comprehensively nauseating."

The man who shot the two cops in Brooklyn then shot himself left a not behind that says what he did was a revenge killing.

Shaw Kenawe said...

R.O.F. I read that.

From The Daily Beast:

A day after Ismaaiyl Brinsley gunned down two NYPD officers in cold blood, evidence emerged that he may have had issues with mental illness. The New York Times reported that when Brinsley appeared at a court hearing in Cobb County, Georgia in August 2011 he was asked “Have you ever been a patient in a mental institution or under the care of a psychiatrist or psychologist?” He responded yes, according to court documents, though he did not disclose other details. Brinsley, 28, was arrested nine times in under six years for an array of of charges, including: terroristic threats, shoplifting, and disorderly conduct. Despite his criminal past, reports indicate that Brinsley did not have any gang affiliations. He fatally shot himself after attacking Wenjian Liu, 32, and Rafael Ramos, 40.

Killing two cops, randomly, after killing your girlfriend and posting your motives on social media is not something a mentally healthy person does.

Killing for "revenge" does nothing for Eric Garner's nor Michael Brown's families' causes. It's insane and it only makes the tetes de merde on the right more incensed and unhinged, hopping around like demented baboons on meth and thinking people care about their marinated-in- swamp-sludge rants.

“Obviously, there's a lot of emotion involved when two police officers are killed," Kelly said. "When the mayor made statements about how they had to train his son, who is biracial, to be careful when he’s dealing with the police, I think that set off this latest firestorm."
------
The "Sunday shows" were full of anti DeBlasio sentiment.
Giuliani was there being as vile as ever. The so called "liberal media" (yeah, right) was as responsible as ever.

So with the vile act of a person of questionable sanity all the protest may go for naught.
Any discussion that we may have too many readily available firearms in America is a no starter.

So the rift grows wider.
This is tragic in so many ways.

"This is tragic in so many ways."

Yes. It. Is.

How is this different from Jerad & Amada Miller killing Los Vegas cops for their right wing insanity?

The response from the right is very, very different.

Howard, I'm reposting your comment to the post covering this discussion.
