In embarrassing news, Dr. Ben Carson, the Tea Party's very own "Sleepy" candidate for Preznit of the U.S. of A. talked about how brave he was when a gun was pulled on him while he was standing in line at a Popeye's fast food chain:

The Republican presidential candidate said Thursday morning that he had a gun drawn on him while visiting a Baltimore fried chicken restaurant, reported The Hill.

“I have had a gun held on me when I was in a Popeyes,” Carson told host Karen Hunter on SiriusXM radio, referencing an incident at a Baltimore fast-food restaurant.

“[A] guy comes in, put the gun in my ribs,” he added. “And I just said, ‘I believe that you want the guy behind the counter.’”

WAIT!
Why didn't Dr. Carson rush at the guy who was pointing the gun in his ribs -- you know, like he said the victims of the Roseberg shootings should have done? Instead, Dr. Carson fingered some other person for the gunman to go after.

Brave, brave, Sir Carson!

Dr. Carson admitted to the world that he didn't do what he told the victims' families the victims should have done:  Rushed at the guy with the gun.  Instead, Dr. Carson directed the gunman at an employee, thus saving his own brave, brave hide.

(Dr. Carson didn't say what happened next, but giggled and then fell asleep.)

BREAKING NEWS:  The Daily Show has footage of the time Dr. Carson told the gunman not to point his gun at him but at the dude behind the counter!

Americans are so used to shootings, this newest one will hardly register on anyone's radar.

Re: Brave, brave Sir Carson: Only the hopelessly deluded believe this rank amateur qualifies to be president. So what about those nuts on the right who said the lefties only voted for Obama becuz he's black? They sayd Obama had no experience to run the country but Carson does, so why do they think he'd be an experienced president?are they supportting for the same reasons the wingers said the lefties supported Obama? Obamaa at lest had experience in staate senate and US Senate. Carson can operate on brains. How dos that make someone qualified to be president? Carson has opened his mouth one to many times and showed everyone that he has no grasp on anything to do with governing, it seems like the wingers want an inexperienced gaffe maker to run the most powerful country on earth, because Carson is what? Why do they like this guy, it can't be becuz of something that is very rare in the Tea Party, can it? If I say what it is then i'm a racist!

It is time for congress to act and pass a law that mass murders are illegal. Then they need to have law enforcement enforce the law and not like they do with illegal immigration and pot but actually enforce the law.

RP, you are against Carson therefore, according to liberal logic, you are a racist. Qualifications should not be considered, it is all about race.

Question, skud: Do you have any other way of commenting other than snark?

Also to your snark about racism and liberals: Go back to Lisa's Slime Pit and see for yourself the sort of racist crap she allows her boyfriends to post there day after day after day. That's where you'll find your fellow conservatives comparing Michelle Obama to a gorilla and where you'll read racist insults about the president and any other African American she and her butt-kissers don't like. I have never read any criticism whatsoever from you about that racist sewerage on that blog, so you need to shut up about it when you come here, since it is clear you approve of it. Your silence means you approve of that swill.

This blog criticizes Dr. Carson on his policies and goofy statements. It doesn't call him or his wife monkeys, gorillas, or savages. That's what you'll find on wingnut blogs. That's where racism flourishes.

Anymore snark about liberals and racism from you will be deleted.

RPL, I'm beginning to wonder about Dr. Carson's mental stability. One day he says people who face gunmen should run at them, the next day he brags about how he avoided a gunman's threat by telling him to point his gun at a guy behind the counter. This doesn't make sense and neither did his bizarre statement that a bullet-ridden, bloody body isn't as awful as a a threat to the 2nd Amendment. He'll never be president.

@skudrunner

Only a complete race-obsessed idiot would equate one's preference for a particular presidential candidate to said candidate's race, but that's what skudrunner and other wingers said about the election of Obama. they said tyhe only reason black people voted for hiom was because of his race and the only reason Democrats voted for him was because of his race. So what's the reason the Tea Party is supporting Ben Carson, since he has zero experience in government or politics? Is it because he can operate on brains? He sure doesn't sound like khe's operating with his own when he make those foolsih statements.

"Carson did offer a solution: 'The shooter can only shoot one person at a time. He cannot shoot a whole group of people. So the idea is overwhelm him so that not everybody gets killed.' (EXCEPT WHEN THE GUY WITH THE GUN IS POINTING IT AT ME, THEN I'LL TELL HIM TO POINT IT AT THE GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER! -- Ben Carson)

The Republican Party has come a long way from being basically the Episcopal Church minding its checking accounts. The fact that a mentally ill man shot Ronald Reagan didn’t distract Reagan from seeking, and winning, the Brady Bill. And don’t even bring up the first President George Bush quitting the National Rifle Association because of its anti-government rhetoric. It’s not polite to bring that up nowadays.

Now all Republicans are able to do is to suggest that we hurl ourselves at the terror of a man with a gun, because stopping that man from getting a gun in the first place is literally unimaginable to them. All they can do is repeat comforting words to each other in their increasing isolation. Mass shootings have nothing to do with guns. It’s prayer, video games, violent movies, freedom, Democrats, gun control, gun-free zones and sin.

Also, world peace. I mean, mental health."

skudrunner said...

How many of the shooters had firearms that were obtained illegibly. How many were registered?
How many of the mass shooters had mental issues. My point is you can pass all the laws you want but until we deal with the mental instability issue it won't stop.

Hank,

Trump and Fiorina must be furious.
Carson seems to have learned how to play the Republican primary game. Just be absurd and suck up the free publicity.
It really doesn't matter what you say. Really, have you heard from the other bobos in the last week or so?

Notice what got pushed to the side.
The House committee investigating PP announced they found no violations. None.
But you can bet the Teabags will still try for a shut down if the funding isn't removed.
I don't know what Fiorina's going to do for an issue.

As to how many deaths are acceptable ... I was thinking about the Dallas football player who
was suspended for abusing his girlfriend and pushing her down onto a number of assault rifles among other things. Why not make those attacks grounds to deny a firearms license?
Just start defining who we feel should own a gun. Just start.

An armed society is a polite society.

Shaw Kenawe said...

This is what the NRA has given to the United States: The lie that an armed society is a polite society. In fact, what we have is a gun-crazed, murderous society that has accepted school killings as a fact of life.

Shaw Kenawe said...

"Just start defining who we feel should own a gun. Just start."

When we live in a culture that gives little pink rifles to children, do you really believe that will happen? The NRA criminals have bought off our law makers.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Jerry: How many more deaths are acceptable?

As many as the criminal NRA tells us we should accept.

I had hoped skud could bring an opposing pov (conservative) to the discussion, but he's incapable of doing so. All he knows is "57 states," and "you didn't build that," and whatever the slime on Lisa's blog are publishing. You're right. He crawls around the Stench Trench where racism is rife and says nothing, then comes here and with a straight face talks about liberals calling anyone who disagrees with Ben Carson racists? They just can't see beyond the end of their long, lying noses.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Rusty, the Carson supporters see nothing crazy with his brave talk about going after a shooter and then his cowardly behavior when a shooter stuck a gun in his rib and Carson told the potential shooter to go after the guy behind the counter. They don't see that as major wimping out and putting someone else's life in jeapordy -- coming from a guy who expects people to run towards a shooter! Carson will NEVER be president. He's a major weirdo and in this instance, a major wimp, by his own admission.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Hank, Mr. Obama had legislative experience in the Illinois state legislature and in the U.S Senate and the righties said that was "slim" experience. But they're falling all over themselves over Carson who has zero experience in anything to do with government. But if a president ever need to separate conjoined twins, he the man! And we know how often that comes up in a presidency. The righties are a strange group of weirdos.

Shaw Kenawe said...

R.P.L., when righties slobber over an African American guy with absolutely no qualifications for the presidency, it's fine. They have no consistency in this instance. They're slobbering over Dr. Carson because he's a conservative African American, and they're as rare as hens teeth. Who can blame them. 98% of African Americans associate with the Democratic Party. Can we blame the righties for promoting Dr. Carson who's an anomaly? He'll never be president. He'll fall asleep before the convention.

Active Rain said...

There is no consistency in the Tea Party Rethuglicans. They hate Obama and believe he's not American or a Christian, but they love Carson because he has no experience in governing. He can't even control what comes out of his mouth. And yeah, he does remind everyone of Sleepy the Dwarf.

Call Me Hank said...

Popeye's? Dr. Ben went to Popeye's to eat? Hmmmmm. And told a gunman to leave him alone and point his gun at the schlub behind the counter? The racist righties would have a field day over the fact that Dr. Ben admitted he eats at Popeyes!

Sandy Hook woman whose mother was slaughtered tells Ben Carson to STFU:

“Are gun extremists in this country so morally bankrupt that their solution to ending school shootings is asking kindergarten teachers to be trained in how to attack a gunman?"

Good for her. More people need to stand up to bullies like Carson.

Jerry Critter said...

Next he is going to be saying that we should arm the kindergarten children also.

Ed Mayo said...

It's a testiment to just how oblivious Carson is to reality and how little he thinks before he speaks that he VOLUNTEERED the Popeyes story. One second he is explaining how brave he would be and in the very next breath he gives an example of his own craven cowardice when actually faced with the situation. What a stupid jackass!
