Jerry,

Donald Trump Has Caused A Historic Drop In The Stock Market

The S&P 500 is down for nine straight days for the first time in 36 years.
11/06/2016 09:52 am ET | Updated 2 hours ago

Investors, it seems, are being reminded of this as polls show Hillary Clinton’s numbers dropping. The S&P 500 was down Friday for the ninth straight day, something that hasn’t happened since 1980. “The U.S. elections are the elephant in the room for markets,” Julius Baer’s head of research Christian Gatticker told Bloomberg. Donald Trump is still a long shot, consistently trailing Clinton in key swing states, but the stock market seems to be evaluating his odds for what they are: a low, if real, chance of economic harm.

Deporting some 11 million undocumented immigrants, building a wall along the border with America’s third biggest trading partner, starting a trade war with Mexico and China that would destroy 4 million U.S. jobs: These are all deeply harmful economic policies.

Moody’s says Trump’s policies would throw the U.S. economy into the longest recession since the Great Depression. Citigroup thinks a Trump win could cause a global depression. By a different measure, Trump in the White House would cause the American economy to shrink by $1 trillion over five years, according to British research firm Oxford Economics.

That a campaign based on those ideas still has by some estimates a 35 percent chance of winning should scare markets.

But The Stupids think Hillary will "destroy" America? The Goopers were called The Stupid party by one of their own, Bobby Jindal. And who knows better than one of their own what they truly are.

We all can have sympathy for our fellow Americans who are struggling with a slow economy and limited job opportunities, but believing a misogynistic, sexual predator and first class liar will rescue them is like a bunch of chickens believing Colonel Sanders will solve all their problems.

The US and world markets know that Donald Trump is a disaster. Too bad so many of our fellow citizens don't. (See: Stupids, Party of)

Maher is one of the smartest people on TV, IMO. Can you imagine an evening with Maher, Maddow and Colbert? That would be mind-shattering. 3 of the smartest people ever.

Jerry Critter said...

Yes Shaw, the stock market does not like Trump. He is already negatively impacting millions of Americans lives and he is not even president yet. This man (and I use that term lightly) is a walking and breathing disaster.

BS
The stock market has been falling because of uncertainty.

The "Truth" Purveyor,

FAIL. No. The American and world markets know that Trump is a disaster.

Don't be so sure about Clinton and her emails.

Obama made his wishes known to the FBI of course that was after he was not going to interfere. How could they possibly read that many emails in a week.
Corrupt politicians at their best and we all pay to keep the system going.

Hail to the elite may they reign forever. I do agree that obama has been great for the stock market as will -H-. The rich will prosper as they have for the last eight years.

TRUMP IS YELLING RIGGED ELECTION AGAIN

Of course! When his numbers are up NO RIGGING! When the FBI clears Hillary and the number start to favor her?

RIGGED!

He's such a whinney little wuss.

Heads are exploding over at the mothership from the Comey news.

There are suggestions that the Clintons would pull a "Vince Foster" on him.

I can see the first 100 day of her presidency, Chaffetz calls e-mail hearings and Louie "Goober" Gohmert calls for
election fraud investigations. Meanwhile Trey Goudy will reopen Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi hearings.

It will be announced that no SCOTUS judges or any other appointee will receive confirmation hearings.

It's not going to be pretty. I just hope the public outcry makes the Teabags reconsider.

This. Even the slightest hint that a Trump victory was possible caused a swoon.

Economic news has been at worst neutral recently.

skud: "Obama made his wishes known to the FBI of course that was after he was not going to interfere. How could they possibly read that many emails in a week."

And your evidence for that, besides your fevered anti-Hillary brain, is what? I'm with Hillary on this: I'm sick and tired of angry right wingers making accusations based on nothing but their paranoia and dimwitted ideas.

How could they possibly read that many emails? You are not tech savvy, otherwise you wouldn't have asked that question.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Ducky: Heads are exploding over at the mothership from the Comey news.

Reality butts its head against their paranoia and hatred.

It's not pretty. But it's real, and the one thing they have no relationship to is reality. I'm so sorry for them because this can't be easy. If only they were able to extract their heads from their nether regions, they would be able to deal with reality.

Please come back on Tuesday night. Be well, my friend.

Let them pull that crap, and then let's see the House go Democratic in the mid-terms. People will be fed up with GOP bullshit.

This is for skud who doesn't understand how advanced technology is in its ability to scan emails:

"Standard forensic procedures for e-discovery in civil and criminal investigations is to make a certifiable digital copy of all media immediately after getting access, and immediately to analyse and index the contents, including buried metadata and email attachments.

The software utilised in these investigations is used to handling and sifting big data, scaling up to tens of millions of files. The global e-discovery market in software systems and services is now worth an estimated $1bn, with many companies offering sophisticated email analysis add-on systems to spot, map, network and visualise chaining, duplicates, and to provide searchable indexes.

The FBI have long been leaders in this business. As revealed by Edward Snowden, the FBI has been operating the PRISM and other systems for over ten years from its Digital Intercept Technology Unit (DITU) at its sprawling Quantico, Virginia base. The unit annually "ingests" and analyses billions of emails intercepted from US optical fibre cables or passed on by telecommunications operators. The critical part of the system's front end, obviously, is to spot email addresses associated with intelligence targets.

Get that, skud? BILLIONS of emails. Supposedly the FBI had to analyze 650,000 in 8 days. A walk in the park when using this technology.

The reason I have little patience with the right wingers is that they don't look at facts.

Tuesday night... I can hardly wait... even the Mother Ship seems to have gotten the memo...

Hide the knives and make sure they stay away from second story ledges...

Jerry: "People will be fed up with GOP bullshit."

Yes. People will be fed up with their b.s. belief that only THEY have the right to the Executive Branch of the government. If the Dems retake the Senate, they won't be able to inflict as much damage to our democracy as they have over the past 6 years.

I heard President Obama punking Drumpf for having his twitter taken away. Funny stuff!! I also heard that maybe Melanoma was serious about stopping cyber bullying and took away his phone and laptop? :)

Cathy said...

the wing nuts are on suicide watch. Is it wrong that I'm smiling?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Ray, a few days ago, the Goopers were crowing about Hillary being indicted and going to jail. Not so much now, eh? That's what happens when people buy into rumor and lies and then reality smacks them in the face. Hope for the best on Tuesday.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Blue ill, how embarrassing formTrumper. They're treating him like the 10 year old that he is. "Melanoma?" Auto correct?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Cathy, smile all you want, and don't feel guilty.

Les Carpenter said...

I cannot help but smile. Smile with the knowledge that all of this, yes all of it, is all a game. A game that ultimately has no winners. A game in which we're all on the losing end.

History repeats itself because humankind is too dense to learn from it.

Tuesday is just another pause on the way to the final end we have orchestrated for ourselves.

Former GOP Presidential contender had this to share this week... "I think that the values voter movement remains very strong"

How anyone supporting Trump can say this is beyond me...
