TRUMP CONTINUES TO APPOINT INEXPERIENCED PEOPLE TO OUR NEW KAKISTOCRACY
Welcome to Donald Trump's Kakistocracy of America:
We are left to contemplate. Is constant negativity and vilification of the incoming administration a positive pursuit? Will it serve our country well? Will it result in changing anything? Should the incoming Trump administration be given a fair opportunity, a honeymoon so to speak? What does behaving as republican did in 2009-2016 make democrats? Shouldn't those who opposed the Trump movement be formulating positive positions opposing specific Trump initiatives?
Energy now wasted on negativity could better be expended in formulating positives to change congress in 2018 and 2020 as well as a few statehouses . The nation needs strong positive leadership in the opposition party, not continued negative.
My two cents worth following a long stretch of vocally opposing nearly everything Trump pushed. Now that he is the acknowledged "winner" a chance he maybe should be given.
Every day the costs of Trump's victory mount further into the realm of the dangerous, absurd and despicable. Every day gives the lie to the always dubious proposition that there was no difference between them. Every day gives the lie to the even more dubious proposition that electing Trump will be more a salutary stimulus for positive change than a world wide catastrophe.
I don't say this often, and won't dwell on it. But I consider that a fact.
RN: So what are we supposed to do? Lie by omission? Pretend that someone like DeVos isn't grossly unqualified? Pretend that Bannon isn't a dangerous extremist? Pretend that Trump isn't already using his position to advance his personal business interests? Pretend that his "win" is something other than a travesty of democracy brought about by the Electoral College?
The Republican attacks on Obama were all garbage with no substance -- he hated America, he was Muslim, he was born in Kenya, etc. The criticisms of Trump are factual. It's not legitimate to compare the two.
Ducky: The filibuster will be gone very soon. If we'd won the majority we would have done the same. A better strategy would be to get three or four sane Republicans (they exist) to vote with us to block the worst things.
Are we supposed to pretend that it's just politics as usual
When a president elect insulted all Mexicans: POWs? Gold Star families? When the p.e. threatens a forced registry for an entire religion? When the p.e. was documented as a serial liar during the campaign? When a p.e. mocked a disabled journalist? When the p.e. had to pay $25 million to settle a case of fraud against him? When the p.e. has 70+ more law suits outstanding against him? When a p.e. is enriching himself days after his election by making deals with foreign leaders to get his properties built in their countries? When the p.e. says that conflict of interest while he's president isn't a problem, because he's the president. When the p.e. is an admitted sexual predator and adulterer. When a p.e. allows his daughter to sit in on a meeting with a world leader when she has no clearance to do so or experience to warrant that? When the p.e. has named a white supremacist and bigot as a close advisor? When a p.e. sympathizes and admires the former Communist head of the Russian KGB and who may have interfered with our election?
None of those things are normal, and we should never give in to normalize those insults to our American democracy. We cannot normalize evil.
To give the incoming administration and president "a chance," is to confer legitimacy on actions one would expect in a Banana Republic headed by a generalissimo.
I will not normalize a man who has fundamentally changed America for the worst before he's even taken the Oath of Office.
I will not be the "Good American."
We saw in the 1930s, what happens to a country when citizens accept, like good little sheeple, the abnormal as normal.

I do not disagree with you Infidel. What I plan to do is see what he does when he assumes power. I will will continue to point out and oppose that which I think makes little or no sense.
Very admirable RN. I would like to do the same, deal with what he does, not with what is says he is going to do. That changes day to day. Words do count so speech which is racist, fascist, anti-immigrant, anti-women, sexist, etc. (all things he is on record already saying) should be dealt with as well.
As far as snark goes, he and his supporters are too easy of a target to ignore!

Her brother is Eric Prince, Iraq war profiteer and founder of Blackwater.
This nomination is as bad as it gets.
Might as well try to use the filibuster.

She has the same level of experience and qualification for Secretary of Education as Trump has for President, that being ZERO!
Ducky... regarding the filibuster...
The Dems could just hold their fire and let the GOP run rampant. Then their empty rhetoric will be exposed as the joke that it is.
Or we will be in the middle of another world war...

In a less snarky way than during the campaign.
But we can see now what he's doing now, and there's no reason to hold back on telling the truth about it.

He will ultimately bury himself. Unless of course America goes brain dead 💀
True. Truth told without snark and matter of fact. Something you do.
