Dear Dawg! Can Trump be any more stupid?

Each day he proves he can.

BB-Idaho said... US Nuclear technology is under the National Nuclear Security Administration, a critical division of the Department of Energy. Its importance is such that: "The current head of the Department of Energy is Dr. Ernest Moniz, a former Professor of Physics and Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In fact, four out of the last five heads of the Department of Energy were world-renowned and/or Nobel Prize-winning scientists with a deep understanding of physics and nuclear weapons."

We learn that the post at Department of Energy is so critical that after serious consideration, Trump settled on Rick Perry.

Rick Perry’s last job was as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

We all agree, I think, that Trump, while not the brightest bulb in the string, is stupid. At least until now.

Having said that, Perry was arguably a successful governor of Texas no doubt making him a successful executive executive in Trump's view. One of the strongest marks of a good and successful leader is surrounding himself/herself with knowledable and competent dedicated people. A leader does not need to be the best in their field or the best technician, but, they must have the ability to determine who the best are and put them on the payroll.

Trump has been personally successful in business, often at the expense of others. Managing the affairs of the most powerful nation on earth with all its complexities is by far more challenging.

The question has been begged, is Trump up to the challenge? For a majority of Americans the response is... very likely not.

Time will tell.

This is something Trump is not doing, and I see no reason to expect that will his selections will either.

With Governor Oops in charge, the next nuclear power plant built in this country will consist of a big cardboard box with the word NUKE written on it in crayon with the K the wrong way round.

What's next? Louie Gohmert as head of the National Science Foundation? Joe Arpaio as ambassador to Mexico? How bad can these embarrassments get?
