Give the GOP Power, and This is What Happens

UPDATE BELOW

North Carolina is no longer classified as a democracy

"In the just released EIP report, North Carolina’s overall electoral integrity score of 58/100 for the 2016 election places us alongside authoritarian states and pseudo-democracies like Cuba, Indonesia and Sierra Leone.

If it were a nation state, North Carolina would rank right in the middle of the global league table – a deeply flawed, partly free democracy that is only slightly ahead of the failed democracies that constitute much of the developing world. Indeed, North Carolina does so poorly on the measures of legal framework and voter registration, that on those indicators we rank alongside Iran and Venezuela.

When it comes to the integrity of the voting district boundaries no country has ever received as low a score as the 7/100 North Carolina received. North Carolina is not only the worst state in the USA for unfair districting but the worst entity in the world ever analyzed by the Electoral Integrity Project.

North Carolina can no longer call its elections democratic..."

With a GOP president, majorities in Congress, and a chance to fill the SCOTUS with its anti-democracy picks, get ready to see the GOP turn this country into a third-world anti-democratic dystopia.

North Carolina's GOP has already done it.

UPDATE:

The Pussy Grabber-elect has tweeted for all  the world to contemplate:

"Let it be a [nuclear] arms race."

And Putin responds:

If arms race speeds up, 'it's not us'

Trump is a reckless idiot.

No doubt NC is the model the -T- administration and present day conservative mentality (republicans) will nudge the nation closer to realizing.

All great nation states fade. Ours has perhaps taken the final turn towards its ultimate decline with the EC victory of DJT. As a nation we have lost sight of the ideals and principals that guided us to greatness.

Re: Trump Twits on nuclear strategy

If there's a subject less appropriate for a president-elect to Twit about than nuclear weapons strategy, or one more fraught with potential catastrophe if carelessly or thoughtlessly pursued, I can't think of it offhand. I mean, you can hurt someone with those things.

Now, it's possible that Trump doesn't see that because, as is so often the case, we aren't talking about the ostensible subject, but, rather, about him swinging his dick. I get that. I also get it that he's not the first man [sic] in a leadership position to manifest such behavior, though he's wildly more overt.

But there's no filter here. He doesn't think about things, and nobody tells him he should. This isn't a man who, say, announces a major policy speech, thinks about it with experts, consults with allies, sits down with a competent speechwriter, produces and delivers a document defining the problem and outlining a coherent adult response to it, framing public political discussion. This is a man who takes it out, and calls everybody else a loooser.

That's what Twits do. Trump finds that not only congenial but useful: it defines the rules of the game to suit him.

It is not only not 'normal', but irresponsible, for a president-elect to limit his [sic] policy statements to a short form involving 140 characters at a clip. It cheapens the debate, delegitimizes the opposition, and encourages thoughtlessness. With respect to nuclear strategy, as with the one-China policy, pay-to-play for NATO allies, East Asia nuclear proliferation and other such, the level of irresponsibility boggles the mind.

He is a clear and present danger, not just to this country but to the world. He must be fought. As long as he and his Legion of Doom are in office, they must be contained and resisted.

Jim Wright of Stonekettle Station asks some very good questions:

"Trump has promised to eliminate the national debt.

He's also promised to reduce taxes, particularly corporate taxes.

He's ALSO promised to rebuild the nation's infrastructure to the tune of trillions.

He's ALSO promised to build a wall across 2000 miles of Southern border, which will conservatively cost at least a trillion to build and maintain and patrol -- and Mexico, my shiny electronic friends, is not going to pay for it. No way. No how.

AND he's promised to rebuild the US Military now to include a greatly expanded nuclear capability. Nukes are EXPENSIVE. Hideously expensive. You don't just build the bomb, you have to procure the materials, you have to do the testing, you have to provide the security, and you have to have hideously expensive delivery systems including ICBMs, nuclear subs, and nuclear capable long range bombers and the support infrastructure necessary for those forces plus the massively expensive Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence network to support it. And that's just for starters.

So here's the equation: DRASTICALLY less federal income + MASSIVELY increased federal spending + ($20,000,000,000,000 federal debt) = Make America Great Again with all the things conservatives think they're going to get + Jesus.

Now, I realize that Republicans nowadays use creation science instead of actual math, but how does this work? How do you have LESS income plus MORE spending and come up with no debt?
Even if you eliminate all of the things conservatives suddenly hate, such as education and food stamps and healthcare and environmental protections and we end up a conservative utopia of hungry sick morons hip-deep in their own shit, you still don't make up more than a few percentage points of the difference.

So, how does this work?

Anybody?"

The EIP is a Harvard/U of Sydney organization, largely funded by Australia.
In discussing US politics with an Australian, he observed that the extreme
right in Australia is equivalent to the American liberal, so skewed is our
current electorate. Small wonder the world community is concerned.

He's not even president yet and his toxic shit is already spreading across the country and world.

@ Shaw, when conservatives were classical liberals (speaking of modern times) and acting with fiscal responsibility and really were concerned with conserving the founded vision they were a force to be listened to. But today's conservatives, republicans, evangelicals, and Trump left logical and rational thinking at the doorstep.

Conservative thought has morphed into something illogical and dangerous. And to think I used to be a staunch conservative.

May the Gods atop Mr. Olympus help us.

North Carolina is being compared with Cuba. It's about as democratic as Cuba! Just wait until the Republican crime syndicate gets hold of all the levers of power of State and turns America into a very large North Carolina. The Cuba that the GOP hate is now what they hope to transform America into. Remember friends, it is those "patriotic Christians" set to turn us into the Cuban States of America!
