The Malignant Narcissist Tweets Again. America Weeps.

June 30, 2017, 8:20 AM:   What was just revealed on Morning Joe about Trump and his people intimidating and threatening both Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough is truly frightening. The president and his people blackmailed both MSNBC hosts and threatened to run an unflattering story about them through Trump's pal who owns The National Inquirer unless they personally groveled to Trump and apologized for their coverage of his presidency. (Thankfully, both MSNBC hosts ignored Trump.)

This is unacceptable. I believe Brzezenski and Scarborough, because Donald Trump is not just a liar and obsessive crank who stooped to a form of black mail in order to get people to kiss his ass, but a man who has no personal morals or boundaries and is a dangerously thin-skinned, vengeful coward.

Read about what I just heard. It is more than disturbing to hear this about a POTUS. We have a sick, sick vengeful crank in the White House.

John Cassidy, The New Yorker:

Where America, until recently, had at its helm a Commander-in-Chief whom other countries acknowledged as a global leader and a figure of stature even if they didn't like his policies, it now has something very different: an oafish Troll-in-Chief who sullies his office daily.

Ugly is as ugly does

Instead of talking about the GOP's miserable non-health care bill, today all the news is about the vile and classless man in the White House and his bitchy, mean girlie tweets about MSNBC hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

Unless you're living under a rock, you all know what the man-child tweeted, and you've all heard the condemnations from both liberals and conservatives.

For me, it was just another piece of evidence that shows Donald Trump to be a low-class piece of trash who happens to  be rich. Wealth does not necessarily bring good breeding and dignity with it, and that's a fact where Donald Trump is concerned. I've seen people with more dignity in a trailer park than I've seen exhibited by the man who constantly brags about what a quality person he is.

Trump is a sad little man with a very serious personality disorder, and I wonder about the mental health of the people who still support him.

It's hard to believe, but here's what the occupant of the Oval Office spends his time tweeting:

A malignant narcissist and all around jerk.

And 30% of the voting public still thinks he's swell.

Not all conservatives find Trump charming. Many principled conservatives see him for the bag of fetid offal that he is:

William Kristol of The Weekly Standard (via Digby):

The right wingers bellyache all the time about the fact that Trump gets no respect. Today's episode of disgusting and inappropriate tweets by a POTUS is a rank illustration of why Trump is mocked so mercilessly by 60% of the American people and the rest of the world --except Russia!

Remember how the conservatives were about how Pres Obama embarrassed the US? Now not so much.

And how's the anti cyber bullying iniative of the FLOTUS going?

Bringing august dignity back to the White House! I bet he tweeted with his jacket on and with no dijon mustard in sight!

I suspect a lot of the hard-core Trump supporters are simply the same kind of people as he is.

They're "That Guy". The guy that cuts you off in traffic and sticks an upraised middle finger out the window. The guy that lectures the woman in grocery-store checkout lines whom he sees using food stamps to buy something he disapproves of. The uncle who's always forwarding you crazy hate-filled e-mails and links from moron websites, the one everybody tries to avoid at family get-togethers. The guy who hits his girlfriend. The guy who makes embarrassing remarks to the hot secretary at the office. The guy next door who plays loud music and tells you to **** off if you complain. You know, that guy.

They instinctively recognize Trump as a kindred spirit.

That's not the whole 30%, but I think it's a good chunk of them. I think a lot of the rest are people who can't admit, even to themselves, that they were conned by Trump. It's a hard thing to acknowledge. They'll get there, but for now they just mentally block out all the mounting evidence that he's a con man and a slimebucket.

Definitely. A low-class piece of trash is the perfect label. I'd call him trailer trash except that would be a very unkind slur on people who live in trailers.

It is still hard to believe that we, the American people, elected him.

Kudos to William Kristol. He is being honest albeit quite polite to my way of thinking. Pigs are generally more intelligent than TRump. Therefore I would say tRump is an ignorant POS.

The Trump people who keep using the excuse that Trump "is new at this" have to stop with that lame excuse. If Trump hasn't learned, at 71, how to be a decent human being, he's a failed human being. It has nothing to do with being "new" at anything. He's had 71 years to learn.

For two and a half years Trump bragged that ONLY HE could fix Washington and our problems, and now Trump's lackeys are saying "he's new at this?" Don't believe them. Trump NEVER had the political skills or intelligence to be POTUS, and at 71, he's not going to figure it out.

He's a national and international disgrace.

Eugene Robinson, WaPo:

"As I’ve written before, I’m not qualified to assess Trump’s mental health. But there are moments when it would be dishonest not to raise questions about his stability. If the commander in chief of the most powerful military force in history has a problem with impulse control, the whole world has a problem. [...]

What’s truly alarming is the self-defeating nature of Trump’s spasms. At the moment, he is trying desperately to get GOP senators to agree on a health-care bill. Did a sexist attack against Brzezinski help him with Collins or Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) or Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.), who happened to be on “Morning Joe” on Thursday? Not on your life.

The obvious question: What happens if there is an international crisis and Trump’s delicate ego is threatened? Can those around him contain his worst instincts?

They’d better be able to. Not since Richard Nixon’s final days in the White House have I been so worried about a president’s grip on reality."

Someone needs to put ttrump in the looney bin, he's out of his friggin mind. and the whole world is watching the lunatic.

I don't think the 30% are all behind DJT and many, not all, agree he needs to back down on his attacks and not go after someone who goes after him. The supporters do support his agenda, the one he keeps getting in the way of. He has accomplished a lot but it is overshadowed by his tweets.

There is such a contrast between the former president and the current one that people are in shock. The former was a good guy who's agenda was all rainbows and lollypops while destroying the middle class. I'm sure he was good guy to have a beer with and now he is reaping the rewards of his planning. Private islands, private jets and huge amounts to speak to the same people he attacked, his approach seems to have worked out well for him.

skud - "He has accomplished a lot but it is overshadowed by his tweets."

"A lot" you say. Well, how about you push those tweets out of the way and give us this long (because you said "a lot") list of accomplishments. Please start with what you consider the most significant accomplishment and work your way down.

Oh baloney, Skid. He's accomplished NOTHING other than executive orders out the wazoo which he and the Republiscumbags whined about Obama doing and called him 'dictator' for doing so. He's taken a lot of credit for the work of others but he's done nothing other than damaging our air, our water, our working conditions and pay and attacking Native Americans unlike we've been attacked in the past 100 years!
You right wingers keep trying to sell fudge, but the rest of us can tell it's just crap.

No skudrunner, ya got it a tad incorrect. Fact IS, there has never, in our entire history as a nation, been a jackass as prolific and ignorant as the BLOTUS.

what does skud think about his guy trump as a blackmailer? is there any else this scuzzbucket will do to disgrace the presidency and our country?

Trump's accomplishments.

1. Appointed pollution-friendly goofball, Rick Perry as head of EPA.
2. Pulled out of the Paris Climate Accords.
3. Appointed insane in the membrane Betsy Vos, noted school voucher proponent as
Secretary of Education.
4. Appointed young conservative judge to the Supreme Court, and action which was
criminally taken away from Obama by a rogue congress.
5. Dropped a YUUUGE bomb in Syria, very cool.
6. Pissed off entire country of Mexico, not an easy thing to do.
7. Instilled fear into the hearts of millions of immigrants. Good show!
8. Attempted to deport Ethnic Chaldean Iraqis from Detroit. Nice!
9. Came very close to abolishing Obamacare. Republicans are split on different
aspects and levels of cruelty for the indigent and working poor and middle class.
10. At least yammered about changing tax code to only three tiers, no estate tax, etc.
11. Embarrassed our nation almost beyond the point of repair.

Things that Trump really needs to get off his fat ass and get done.
1. Privatize Social Security. What are you guys waiting for. Mucho dinero!$!
2. Eliminate Medicare. Tell people to set up medical savings accounts.
3. We still have eleven million people we need to deport. Hello!
4. Build the beautiful shining fifty, make that sixty feet tall wall.
5. Maybe we should build a marine wall like a moat standing 60 feet out of the water
starting in the Gulf of Mexico and extending up to Rhode island. About ten miles
offshore.
6. Build a wall between the continental U.S. and Canada for sure.
7. Build a wall between Alaska and Canada. Build a marine wall to protect the
Alaskan coast.
8. Build a marine wall around Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
9. Oh yeah, replace all crumbling infrastructure while cutting taxes.

You think? But not just the former one... every past President in our lifetimes.

I thought the Watergate Transcripts took the prize for presidential disgusting behavior, but Trump takes the cake.

And yet, once again, the family values crowd is out there defending him. Why? How? Trump claims to be a Christian. Huckabee Sanders dad was a pastor. Maybe someone, anyone, could ask these folks where Jesus gives you permission to exact your own retribution?

You're right Skud, he is different from Obama... Obama was reviled, mocked, his wife, kids skin color, faith and everything else about him denigrated by people on the blogs you frequent who will not allow us to even comment. He was called un American, accused of hating America, called a rank amateur politician, liar, outsider, foreigner and much worse, many of these from Trump.

Yet he never "hit back" like this.

What does that say about the character of these two men?

Trump is not just failing as president, he's failing "being a decent member of humanity 101"!

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave: "Trump is not just failing as president, he's failing "being a decent member of humanity 101"!

That's correct, Dave. "Character is destiny." The American people were warned again and again and again that Trump has neither the character nor the temperament to be POTUS, but the reckless voters who ignored that believed he'd change once he was in office. He's actually gotten worse, and hasn't shown a jot of what it takes to lead and be an admired leader.

Trump's impulse control is non-existent, he's consumed by getting even and punching back to every slight he imagines. This is the worst possible quality in a person who has the military power our Commander in Chief holds.

We can only hope that the Mueller investigations turn up enough evidence to end this national nightmare of a presidency.

(We can now add possible blackmail to the pile of accusations against Trump and administration.)

Shaw Kenawe said...

F.J., that's quite a depressing list of non-accomplishments so far that Trump brags on every day. On thing missing from list #2 is eliminating ISIS, because Lord Dampnut said he knows more than the generals.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Anonymous @6/30 7:45, the usual reaction from the far right is to ignore the most recent outrage from Trump and point their fingers at President Obama and blame him. That's cute. BTW, President Obama has a higher, much higher, approval rating than trump -- but so does President Obama's signature legislation, the ACA.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... I think Obama's dog has a higher approval rating than Trump...
