General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

The Mob Boss Presidency

So this is where we are now:

Trump trashed and threatened a Purple Heart recipient, LTC Vindman, who honorably served his country, for answering a subpoena and telling the truth under oath. Now we have the Liar-in-Chief interceding in a criminal trial for a slimey political dirty trickster, Roger Stone, a swinger and political goon who's done Trump's own dirty work for him.

This is what happens when a minority of Americans elects a liar, cheat, and a fraud.

Expect nothing honorable from Trump or his corrupt AG. They are profaning our democratic republic inch by inch. The only people America sends to prison for too long are those who have no money and no connection. Roger Stone has both.

Roger Stone and Trump are vengeful people, and Barr is Trump's lapdog. Believe nothing Barr says. They all got caught cooking up a deplorable scheme because four honorable federal prosecutors quit their jobs at the DOJ in protest of the interference by Trump and his lackey AG, Barr.

Thank goodness for Judge Jackson. Even she was threatened by Roger Stone, while Trump tweet- threatened the jury's foreperson.

There is an awful lot of fear in this country right now. Republicans quake in their boots for fear of what this snake of a president will say about them, so they turn a blind eye to all of his illegal behavior. Career civil servants, seeing what happened to LTC Vindman -- and there may be more yet to come for that honorable man -- are terrified of speaking out. Everyone, down to career prosecutors and even National Archives staff, are self censoring to avoid any potential confrontation with Trump.

The worst part is there is no one to turn to for protection anymore. We have no DoJ, because it is in on the con game, and protecting the mob boss in the Oval Office People wonder how democratic countries can slip into authoritarianism.

We are seeing the answer to that in real time.

"A year ago, when the Senate voted to confirm Barr, his views were hardly a secret; we just chose not to emphasize them. Since then, a succession of magazine articles—in the New Yorker, New York magazine, Vanity Fair, and elsewhere—have elucidated his troubling judicial philosophy. (In a provocative essay for the New York Review of Books, Tamsin Shaw compared Barr to Carl Schmitt, the “Crown Jurist” of Nazi Germany.) But day-to-day reporting still tends to overlook it, or to mention it only in passing. That’s regrettable, since Barr’s conception of the presidency will likely have consequences that outlast Trump. “If those views take hold, we will have lost what was won in the Revolution—we will have a chief executive who is more powerful than the king,” Laurence Tribe, a law professor at Harvard, told the New Yorker. “That will be a disaster for the survival of the Republic.”

Well presented and glowingly truthful Shaw! You are 1000% tight, we are witnessing in real time what a corrupt president and his corrupt administration looks like. When it is teansforming a democratic republic into the tyranny of a despot.

America and its sane citizens are the last firewall protecting our republic and the rule of law. If Trump is not SOUNDLY defeated by right in 2020 our republic will become 3'rd world banana republic.

And make no mistake about this, Trump is now successfully accomplishing that which he ALWAYS intended to do when he entered the world of politics. His resding of Adolf Hitler's histiory and book prepared him well for his assault on our democratic republic.

I wonder when Trump will feel emboldened enough to proclaim himseld Fuhrer.

Barr is assigning outside proceutors to review other criminal cases against Trump administration officials charged with wrongdoing.

Brace yourselves. It is just the beginning.

Canada looks better and better to me if trump is re elected. As a native Minnesotan, cold and snow does not bother me. Canada passed a law a while back that if a parent was born in Canada, children can gain citizenship easily. Since my dad was born in Saskatchewan, I’m looking into the process for dual citizenship.

"...honorable federal prosecutors". Surely you jest.
When all participants of a "system" are feeding from the same nose-bag, free from competition -- and are allowed (by your neighbors and friends -- hopefully not you) to
• Make the laws,
• Enforce the laws,
• Prosecute the laws,
• Hire the prosecutors,
• License the “defense” attorneys,
• Pay the “judges”,
• Build the jails,
• Contract jails out to private entities,
• Employ and pay the wardens,
• Employ and pay the guards,
• Employ and pay the parole officers,
One can't honestly call it a "justice" system. It's a system of abject tyranny.

Possumlady My first grandchild was born in Canada to my daughter and her Canadian husband. Having spent a lot of time visiting in Ontariao, I can say with conviction that Canadians are among the nicest people on the planet.

One night as my husband and I were walking home from having pizza here in the North End, we found ourselves walking behind a young couple; the man was wearing a jacket with the Canadian flag on the back. We were just behind this couple when my husband and I started singing "O Canada!" (Thanks to the Bruins and Rene Rancourt, we know most of the words.) The couple turned around and laughed and clapped at the end. We ended up chatting with them and discovered they lived in the area where my daughter and her family resided.

Ed once a population gives up on its justice system, it's not long until everything else collapses.

RN We have to remember that the Trumpublicans are a minority and that Trump keeps losing many from his base, not building it up.

In the 1932 elections, the Nazis were in a minority. But his followers were rabid
and loyal. Enough so, that he became Chancellor. When Hindenberg died, Adolf
quickly grabbed control of the legislature and courts. He created the Third Reich.
In 2016, the Trumpublicans were a minority, but der Copycat quickly grabbed control
of the Senate and courts, declared black is white, up is down and created the
MAGAs, another four letter party...

BB-Idaho and now Trump has the DoJ under his thumb to do his dirty work. The kind of dirty work the felon Roger Stone used to do.
