Former Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich was not only convicted of selling a U.S. Senate seat. The Illinois governor threatened to withhold state money for a children's hospital unless its CEO coughed up money for his campaign.

Blagojevich extorted a children's hospital for a campaign donation by withholding GOVERNMENT FUNDING until they paid up.

Now that is funny after clinton commuted 42 people and pardoned 151. Their indiscretions were mail fraud, defraud the government, cocaine charges, stealing 1.2 million in federal grant money.
Barry was a few less but not many and you tag trump because he commutes a sentence for a former democrat mayor who was a sleaze ball and a democrat accused of stock fraud who now donates his time to helping others.
Trump's own advisers advised him against commuting Blagojevich's sentence. Several of the other pardons and commutations were for people who contributed to Trump's campaign (DiBartolo) or had done favors for Trump.
That wasn't the case with Obama.
Also, on your bothsiderisms: Trump bragged about draining the swamp, instead he's made it larger and repopulated it with more swamp creatures.

Trump went after LTC Vindman for obeying the law and telling the truth under oath. Yesterday Trump commuted the prison sentence of former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich who extorted a children's hospital -- A CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL -- by threatening to withhold funding unless it contributed to his campaign. This alone tells us and the world what a deplorable, corrupt man Trump truly is.
There is NO comparison with Clinton and Obama.
The Pentagon has stated it WILL NOT investigate or punish LTC Vindman, as Trump threatened.
Trump is a slimebucket.
With trump it's all about money. The son of one of the people pardoned by trump gave $85 thousand to trump victory fund this past August, his wife gave 50K that same month. On top of that they made an in-kind contrib. of $75K for air travel.

In the last few days, in a new activation of always-implied presidential powers, Trump has effectively assumed the authority to undo complex prosecutions, ignore jury decisions and usurp government prosecutors who put years into high-profile cases.
In the process, he's sent a message that convicts with associates who are close to the President politically -- or who can get on Fox News -- will enjoy a more lenient form of justice.
Kerik, for example, is a protege of Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani — who was at the center of the effort to get dirt from Ukraine on Trump's opponents that led to his impeachment.
Blagojevich's wife has often taken to the President's favorite conservative news network to plead his case. And the White House noted in a statement that Milkin's philanthropy had led conservative heroes like Giuliani, Sheldon Adelson and House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy to support calls for a pardon.
Trump's recent interventions in the legal process also opened a window into the President's personal morality and the principles which govern his own attitudes to power.
Kerik, Blagojevich and Milken were all convicted of offenses that the President has been accused of committing by his enemies. Their cases involved a blizzard of abuses of power, betraying public trust, soliciting quid pro quo, fogging tax records and lying to investigators.
It is almost as if Trump is arguing implicitly that such corruption should not be criminal at all, but is the normal behavior of powerful men -- such as himself.
It was also notable that Trump specifically noted that Blagojevich was put behind bars by US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, a star legal contemporary of Trump's nemesis, fired former FBI Director James Comey. Fitzgerald prosecuted Libby as well and also joined Comey's legal team in 2017. That the President appears to be taking aim at those associations seems unlikely to be a coincidence.
Trump complained that the Blagojevich sentence was unfair ignoring the fact that Blag was caught ON AUDIO trying to sell a US Senate seat!
Trump sees himself in these criminals.
I am not surprised you would condemn the pardon of Blago. After all he tried to buy the seat vacated by the swell guy after his outstanding service to the country. What did he serve six months before he started his presidential run. Apparently that seat was worth a lot.
Take a peak at who clinton and the swell guy pardoned. Just a hint, there was not a saint to be found. The pardon by a president should be unconstitutional by any president but there is to much money and influence involved.
skud, in your unceasing efforts to bothsiderism, I challenge you to discover the connections between Mr. Obama's pardons and contributions to his campaigns. That is the overriding motive in trump's pardoning crime spree, that and his affinity for corrupt slimebags. There must be something about them that he sees in himself.

Ms Shaw, I have no way of knowing how many pardons the swell guy gave to people who donated to his campaign because the media is not rabid about the swell guy. I accept that he did nothing wrong during his eight years in office. His successes are many like failed obamacare, failed Iran deal, a trillion or so for some classic cars and the slowest economic recovery since WWll. The latest crowd of candidates have already committed to finishing hat the swell guy started and finally bring down the country and the middle class. Take a look at saint bill and see if he was a clean as the swell guy.
