General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS
This is your current Trumpublican party and its gun-worshipping/fetishizing politicians:
Vote this fall. Knock the GOP on their asses at the polls, and you have a chance to stop this. Or keep them on their perch, keep enabling their greed, and live with the dark power of the gun lobby and all the killing it chooses to allow. It’s your choice. It’s that simple.
I agree with Seth MacFarlane. The only way to pass gun laws is to have an overwhelming victory for Democrats so they have a filibuster proof majority in Congress. That won't happen in the mid-term elections this year and probably not for many years to come. We have to face and fight the fact that far too many Americans believe in the garbage you posted. Laws have changed because the Republicans have held power far too long in Congress and the Supreme Court. Anyone who thinks the Supreme Court is not political just hasn't got a clue. Row/Wade will be reversed next month, is that Republican politics? We had an automatic weapons ban, but the Republicans let it lapse and we never had the votes to pass it again.
If guns made us safe, we'd be the safest country on the planet because we've got more guns than people according to latest estimations. But we're the most unsafe country because people have to be fearful of being shot in churches, synagogues, malls, supermarkets, concerts, and schools. Kindergarten babies and 4th graders, and high school teens all slaughtered by young men who were able to easily purchase an AR-15 to shoot people into unrecognizable pieces of flesh.
The parents of the children at the Robb school needed to give DNA in order to identify what was left of their children.
There is no ban on AR-15 weapons that tear apart children so badly that their own parents can't identify them.
Why should an 18 year old be able to buy such a catastrophic weapon?
No one's against using firearms for hunting, (well, I am because I don't understand killing animals for sport -- but some folks like it) and some folks actually eat the meat they kill, but we've gone beyond sport hunting and are now the country that has the most massacres of our own people because the NRA pours money into politicians' pockets, and that means more to them than the slaughter of the innocents.
80% of Americans want stricter gun laws, and our politicians tell them to stuff it because of the NRA's influence on them.
As expected, one of those who value a penis substitute /gun more than they value the lives of children tries his usual idiotic game of semantics. Pathetic but oh so predictable. tell it to people with tiny brains, Skidmark. In other words, talk to yourself.
Sxxxxxxxxxxe: Hey dummy, thanks for quoting me. Hey dummy, have you noticed any threads or commonality among all of these? Like maybe mental illness?
All countries in the world have to deal with mental illness, but those same countries do not have the number of firearms -- approximately 400 million last time I checked -- in the hands of their populations.
Why don't politicians take a stand against firearms, because it is a problem on both sides and they don't want to get tied to it. Is having background checks going to prevent idiots from using guns in a mass shooting, no. Does it make any sense to sell a gun to someone who cannot buy a beer, no. Is forcing gun registration going to stop mass murder, no because those people don't care. If what you say that 80% of Americans want stricter gun laws is true why not hold our elected elite accountable. It is politically expedient to keep the debate instead of doing something about it.
Skud: "It is politically expedient to keep the debate instead of doing something about it."
This is how I once felt about both guns and abortion.
But Republicans HAVE been doing exactly what they've been telling their base they would do.
Fetishists are swarming into shopping centers with those damn AR-15's.
Logic and history teach us that the more guns there are in a society, more gun deaths will occur.
You seem to agree on raising the age for purchases. As seen lately, it would have saved lives. Background checks and waiting periods would also save lives. Better red flag detection would save lives.
Stopping the manufacture and sales of the damn things would doubtless save many lives. Voluntary buybacks, or outright banning them would definitely save lives.
90% of the U.S. public currently support requiring universal background checks — a claim that has previously been verified by fact-checkers.
"We are being held hostage by 50 senators in Washington who refuse to even put it to a vote, despite what we the American people want," the Coach Steve Kerr said. "They won't vote on it, because they want to hold on to their own power."
Those 50? TRUMPUBLICANS! They're loyal to the gun lobby and the money it gives them.
I don't ever want to hear another Trumpublican hypocrite talk about the sanctity of life in any pro-choice argument because any Trumpublican that utters those words is a liar.
They don't care about the "sanctity of life;" they care about the sanctity of money and power.
Hey skud, the sole reason there has been no meaningful gun-control legislation following the shootings at schools in Parkland, Fla., or Newtown, Conn., is the GOP’s adamant refusal to cross the gun lobby and its extremist base.
A huge majority of Americans want broader background checks and other laws passed but the NRA will not allow it and the Republicans in Congress are disgusting cowards who have no problem seeing children being ripped apart by an AR-15 to the point where their own parents need DNA to identify their remains!
Ray and Ms. Shaw, That response is pure BS and you probably know it. When was the last time meaningful gun control has been presented in congress. About the same time as a comprehensive immigration policy. Our elected elite have far more important things to focus on than gun rights and immigration. They have the responsibility to blame everything on others and that is all consuming. No compromise on anything because if you compromised you might get something done and then who would you blame. If the vast majority of American's support meaningful gun control why is it not a top priority of congress. There would be support from both parties so the idea of GOP lock up is false. It is a great talking point and a risky action point.
Maybe those 90% of Americans should demand something be done and at the rate congress gets done we are only looking at another 500 or so shooting incidents. I have gone through the background check many times and it is a joke. Again easier to blame than take action.
It appears as though the one marinating in BS is you skud. Maybe you should turn off the rethuglican/con/FAUX News/OAN taking points and begin to think for yourself. There really is a whole world of ideas out there skud. Ya really ought to check out some truth for a change. Enlightenment is worth the effort.
Skid, why do you and the other right wingers continue to support the murder of innocent children in school, of people just shopping or worshipping or seeing a movie? Why must you folks ALWAYS side with guns over people. And then you have the nerve to scream about 'life'. Hypocrites one and all of you.
Blueballs, You do have an obsession with generalities but that is who you are. In the same language all democrats want to kill fetuses and take the country to sharia law. That truly is batshit crazy but that is the extreme left.
I support firearm training and licensing before you can own a gun. I also support having a drivers license before you can drive a deadly vehicle. I know that part is extreme. I have a CCP and have had many hours of training. I also go to the range on a regular basis to keep my skill level high. I never leave home with an american express card or without a firearm.
Face it, Skid, you were correctly called out for your semantical gamesmanship and now you're butt hurt. You'll get over it or not. Not my problem, either way. Training and licensing are both good starts, but that alone will have little to no effect on the current problem and you damn well know it. What do you hunt with a high capacity magazine (and don't start your usual pathetic game of semantics here. We all know what is meant by high capacity. It hasn't changed since my time as a Drill Instructor in the Army.) You sound proud of the fact that you are so terrified of everything that you feel the need to carry a weapon everywhere you go. Hmm. I don't think that's anything to be proud of, actually. My little granddaughter would probably walk you home to keep you safe, if you ask nicely, Skid. She's 7 but she's far smarter than ANY right winger and she tells the truth. That's something ya'll need to work on.
Well said BluebullAmerica. skud likely has a good heart and means well. But until he takes off the shades he wears to conceal reality his view will remain clouded with wisps of delusion.

As the outstanding Beto said, never let a crisis go to waste. For your education there is a ban on automatic weapons.

The NRA, IMO, is a terrorist organization.

It's the guns, Dummy, not mental health.

This is the GOP's -- GUNS OVER PEOPLE -- fault.
Prove me wrong!

You're wrong, skud.
The Dems have been proposing gun reforms, and the Republican/NRA will not even bring it to the floor for a vote.
This is entirely the fault of the NRA/Republicans. Do the research.

Here's a chart on the number of civilian guns per capita per country.
And the U.S. leads all countries.
We not only lead, we dominate and that's not a good thing. My German friend calls it the American Sickness and he's correct.
