No friend of progressives, the Washington Times reports that...
"President Trump famously declared during his 2016 campaign that he loved the “poorly educated” because voters with lower levels of schooling delivered an overwhelming share of votes to him. Four years later, political pros say most of those folks remain enchanted by the president..."
That can't be true can it? Where did they find all these supposed poorly educated people?
Could you please clarify what you wrote? I don't know what you're meaning is.
PS. You did hear that Trump told his MAGAs at the rally this weekend that Zuckerberg visited him at the White House a few weeks ago and "kissed his ass."
So perhaps you're referring to that BS? Trump appears to be out of his mind. He hasn't been in the White House since Jan. 20, 2021. Someone needs to get him into deep therapy, NOW!
Roc, What you or anyone "believes" doesn't matter. The facts are that Trump stole US government documents that were classified and top secret, did not comply with a subpoena, and ignored the government's request for those docs to be returned.
Those are the facts. Those facts have nothing to do with Hunter Biden. You and other MAGAs are throwing sand in everyone's faces so that they don't see the serious crimes Trump has committed.
Does it really matter that aviator joey helped his kid make money by selling access to the VP. Like R Daley said when asked why they chose his sons insurance company to service the city he answered honestly, he's my son wouldn't you help yours. The idea that joey helped hunter is a moot point and really doesn't matter because biden is no more corrupt than any other politician and he has the media the FBI and the AG on his side and they say there is nothing to see.
What does matter is joey has no answers to any of the problems we are facing as a country. Instead of giving a positive speech about what his administration is doing to combat the issue we have he gave a campaign speech about how 70 million Americans are terrorists. For a guy who ran on uniting the country he sure has done the opposite. Granted the republicans have no answers except to blame biden but he is in charge so it is his fault.
skud: "Does it really matter that aviator joey helped his kid make money by selling access to the VP."
If Hunter Biden broke the law, then he should accept what justice is meted out to him.
Why on earth are you and other Trumpers so obsessed with what Hunter Biden did or did not do while ignoring what we saw Trump do with our own eyes?
In the universe of bad things that people do, stealing classified and top secret US government documents; ignoring a subpoena, inciting an insurrection against the US government and interfering with the certification of the electoral vote count; and saying your own vice president deserved to be hanged, being impeached twice, interfering and urging the Governor of Georgia to change the state of Georgia's voting results seem a magnitude more horrible and criminal than Hunter Biden ALLEGEDLY selling access to his father (this has yet to be proved), while the list of Trump's illegal deeds is factual!
And yet you and Trumpers don't see the difference. Why is that? Why don't you see what is in front of your noses? Are what I set out above equivalent crimes (Trump's) or alleged crimes (Hunter's)?
I think not. Why do you and others pretend they are and go on and on and on about this?
Skud... does it really matter that immediately upon leaving office, Jared Kushner got a 2 billion dollar payment, significantly more than the total money Hunter has been accused of receiving, from the Saudis?
Does anyone believe he would have received that but for his father-in-law and his former position in the Trump Administration?
Maybe you can explain why conservatives such as yourself feel a need to bring Hunter Biden into every blog post, comment thread and discussion and yet see no need to do the same as it relates to Jared.
I've got to wonder how Hunter's essentially trading on his dad's name, while not an employee of the US government rises to the level of the son in law of a US President, who was not qualified for a security clearance, using his official government connections to net a 2 billion dollar windfall.
skud: "What does matter is joey has no answers to any of the problems we are facing as a country."
Well, that's hogwash. President Biden has passed more legislation to help Americans in the past two years than Trump did in 4. You just don't want to acknowledge any of it because that would spoil your incorrect narrative that Biden is doing "nothing." He passed the infrastructure bill that the GQP governors are taking credit for in their states, he's pass the Inflation Reduction Act, he achieved getting COVID shots into people's arms, when there was no plan for distributing them when Trump left the WH. Our international reputation has improved since Trump shattered it and made America look foolish for 4 years, et.c, etc.
skud: "Instead of giving a positive speech about what his administration is doing to combat the issue we have he gave a campaign speech about how 70 million Americans are terrorists."
Pure unadulterated horseshit! Biden factually told Americans that there is a small group of people within the current Republican (Trumpublican) Party that are moving in the direction of authoritarianism. The GQP actually invited an authoritarian -- Viktor Orban of Hungary -- to speak at the recent CPAC. Orban has taken over the media in his country and set himself up for dictator for life, among his other fascist moves.
I have a question for you, skud. Do you approve of the current Republican Party's admiration for Orban and his authoritarian government? Do you want to see that here in America?
That is what Biden's speech was about. It was about protecting our democratic republic from creeping authoritarianism that the current Republicans/Trumpublicans are so eagerly embracing: banning books, ending a woman's health care choices and forcing pregnancies on 10-year old rape victims, claiming that this is a Christian Nationalist country (MT Greene and Boebert), and continuing to support and worship a decidedly corrupt and feeble-minded idiot like Trump, hoping he will return to the WH!
President Biden's speech was perfect and needed to be heard by Americans before we lose what we so proudly believe is the greatest country on the planet.
Once we embrace (or when one political party does) authoritarianism, you can kiss that idea of America good-bye!
IMO, we seeing it slip away right before our eyes.
If Trump broke the law he should accept what justice is melted out to him. That does go both ways with one big change. Trump is and has always been guilty until proven innocent. This goes for russian collusion, inciting a riot and stealing sensitive documents. This is so wide spread that there is a Cable show dedicated 24/7 solely blaming trump for everything.
I is obvious the reason why every liberal topic as about trump. because there is nothing good they can say about aviator joey serving the majority of American people. He makes his ex boss look like he wasn't all about special interest and the rich. I am all for joe the plumber pay the tuition of a rich kid because the rich kid would have to work to pay his own bills. Seems fair
skudrunner, this was written by a CONSERVATIVE, which I assume you still are. But sometimes when I read your comments trashing Pres. Biden/Obama, I wonder what your real objectives are.
Anyway, this is from a life-long Conservative, not me.\
"Republicans who excuse a coup, vilify the FBI and rationalize defeated former president Donald Trump’s holding on to highly sensitive national security secrets as he left the White House are whining that President Biden, at a fundraiser, called the MAGA movement “semi-fascist.” If anything, he has understated the problem by, as he did in his speech from Philadelphia on Thursday night, painting the MAGA movement as distinct from the “mainstream” GOP. A couple of Republicans (such as Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois) hardly constitute the “mainstream.” Rather, consistent Republican truth-tellers are outcasts in a party that is destabilizing democracy, condoning violence, pursuing White Christian nationalism and deploying nonstop lies.
The good news is that Biden has decided to prioritize candor. The most consequential remarks of his presidency may be this from Thursday: “Democracy cannot survive when one side believes there are only two outcomes to an election: either they win or they were cheated. … You can’t love your country only when you win.” Rarely has an American president uttered a more accurate or blunt assessment."
Many of your friends @AOW and Geeez do NOT believe President Biden won the 2020 election.
How do we hope to heal the divide when 30 - 35% of Americans will not accept the truth? If we're ever to come together as a united country, those who still hang onto the lie that the 2020 election was stolen -- those people will need to look at the truth and accept it.
If they can't or won't, then we will be divided and at war with each other for a long, long time, and maybe never heal the terrible rift Trump caused to our beautiful country.
"Tellingly, Biden gracefully dismissed a vulgar heckler. “They’re entitled to be outrageous. This is a democracy,” he said. “But history and common sense [and] good manners is nothing they’ve ever suffered from.” That is a far cry from the invitations to attack protesters at MAGA rallies. This is not a cult leader but the custodian of a democracy and of the values of dissent, free speech and tolerance.
Biden’s willingness to inhabit the role of democracy’s defender in chief and his string of impressive legislative victories warrant a rejection of the “failed presidency” narrative the media has been wedded to for a year. Few presidents can point to as impressive a series of popular and strong policy accomplishments (including prescription-drug cost control, infrastructure, semiconductor investment, gun safety and a historic investment in clean energy). Even his much-criticized plan for student debt relief is proving politically popular."
skud "Trump is and has always been guilty until proven innocent. This goes for russian collusion, inciting a riot and stealing sensitive documents. This is so wide spread that there is a Cable show dedicated 24/7 solely blaming trump for everything."
Are you an apologist for Trump? Did you NOT see the stolen US documents that were photographed in Trump's in M-a-L palace? Did you not read that Trump IGNORED a subpoena? What do you suppose would happen to you or me if we did that? Did you not read that Trump lie to the FBI about having returned all the stolen documents? What do you think would have happened to us if we had lied to the FBI?
Did you not hear Trump repeat hundreds of times that the 2020 election was stolen? Despite losing every suit brought by his people to counter the outcome of the election? 60 cases thrown out! Lost the popular vote by 7 million and lost the electoral votes by a landslide.
The Mueller Report clearly stated that Trump was guilty of crimes:
MUELLER: 'If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so'
What do YOU think is the meaning of the above? Can you honestly answer what you think that means?
Did you ignore the publicly released taped call Trump made to the Georgia governor asking him and his people to "find 11,800 votes" so that the Georgia election could be changed in Trump's favor?
Everything I mention above is BACKED UP BY EVIDENCE!
Look at the evidence; it's all there. Why do you defend the indefensible?
Trump is on Truth Social saying that he should now be reinstated as president and Biden removed. Again. But no, the movement he leads is not a threat to democracy.
The fact that Trump is still bleating to be "reinstated" when no such action is in the Constitution painfully shows how delusional he is and how little he regards his cultists' intelligence.
What sort of "leader" behaves in such a manner? And yet, 30 -35% of the American voters want this delusional man in the WH again?
"If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so'"
Just as it states. They didn't find that he did not commit a crime not enough proof that he did. If all the evidence is indefensible than hopefully he will be found guilty and the sooner the better.
You point to the made up statistic that 30-35% of Americans support trump. That number is way over stated. Even if you go on the high side 30% of 50% is still way high.
I am still looking for something that the current administration has accomplished for all the American people instead of just the special interest group that support him or he hopes to buy. He has been a great spender of taxpayers money and all his speeches have been, not about accomplishments, but about how horrible 70 million people are.
Why doesn't he take some of that money he is giving away and help secure the border or help the homeless or even buy some cops. He is truly the great uniter as long as it is those who support him.
skud, your reading comprehension skills are wanting.
"If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so'"
If the investigators were confident that Trump DID NOT commit a crime, they would have said so. Therefore, they are NOT confident that Trump DID NOT COMMIT A CRIME, because the evidence they looked at shows that he DID!
If that isn't clear enough for you, you can read the fact that Trump was NOT exonerated from crimes in the Mueller Report:
"US President Donald Trump's claim that he was "totally exonerated" by special counsel Robert Mueller was rejected by Mr Mueller in a hearing on Wednesday.
Mr Mueller said he had not exonerated Mr Trump of obstruction of justice.
The former FBI director spent two years probing alleged collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia, but did not establish collusion in a crime.
He concluded that Russia had interfered in the election with the intention of benefitting Mr Trump's campaign."
skud: "I am still looking for something that the current administration has accomplished for all the American people instead of just the special interest group that support him or he hopes to buy."
I doubt that. There are dozens and dozens sites on the internet that lists the dozens of pieces of legislation that benefits the middle and lower classes. You apparently don't want to look for them because it would conflict with your false narrative that President Biden did nothing for them.
That is wrong.
PS. The homeless problem is the problem of the individual cities, towns, and states. President Biden cannot tell the states how to deal with their homeless problems. If he did do that, you would be the first to complain that he's meddling in cities' and towns' affairs.
"Biden can make a strong case that he has delivered to blue-collar America; he can point to not just the job growth and low unemployment rate (3.6 percent), but also the American Rescue Plan Act, which kept millions of families afloat during the pandemic, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure law that is expected to create hundreds of thousands of blue-collar jobs. He also likes to point out that the nation has added 600,000 manufacturing jobs since he took office. (“And they said manufacturing is dead in America,” he quipped recently.) Despite these significant achievements, many voters—left, right, and center—maintain that Biden has failed to deliver in important ways, most notably, by failing to get Congress to enact his ambitious Build Back Better plan, and also, among other things, by failing to lower prescription drug prices and enact child-care subsidies."
Do you DELIBERATELY ignore all the information that's out there so you can continue to comment incorrectly? I don't know why you constantly repeat that Biden's done nothing for the middle and working classes when anyone can find volumes of information to show that's simply not true.
“Biden has been the most pro-worker and pro-union president in my lifetime, and I’m almost 50,” said Aaron Sojourner, who recently left his job as a labor economist at the University of Minnesota to become a senior researcher at the Upjohn Institute. “You’d have to go back to F.D.R. to get anybody close.”
Trump versus Biden on Worker Issues Even though many Americans view Donald Trump as a champion of blue-collar workers, Trump did far less to help workers than Biden did. During his four years as president, Trump didn’t attempt to increase the minimum wage and failed utterly in his promises to enact a big infrastructure package. Trump rolled back overtime protections for millions of workers and made it easier for Wall Street firms to rip off the 401(k)s of hard-working Americans.
The Trump administration greatly relaxed requirements for employers to report workplace injuries and rejected a proposed ban on a toxic pesticide, chlorpyrifos, that caused acute reactions in farmworkers and hurt farmworkers’ children. Trump got Congress to cut taxes sharply on corporations and the richest Americans, while giving only minor, temporary tax cuts to American workers. Trump also tweeted out attacks against the AFL–CIO’s late president. Richard Trumka, as well as leaders of the United Steelworkers and the United Auto Workers.'
Your claim that Biden's done nothing is wrong. Just. Plain. Wrong.
Ms. Shaw, We just disagree with bidens accomplishments. His lack of interest at the border, his lack of interest in energy independence and his participation in rising inflation which hurts everyone is the main reason I don't feel he has accomplished anything for the middle class. Yes he is giving billions to rich kids to pay their tuition and billions to the IRS for new enforcers but I don't see that as a positive because the middle class pays for it not the rich or the poor.
skud, your constant attacks on Biden are almost surreal. So you've not read the self-own tweets by prominent GQP politicians? The ones where they complain that an outrageous number of humans on the terrorist watch list were stopped at the border, thinking they are proving the border is open but if it was as unprotected as claimed then how were all these humans on the watch list stopped?
Or, my personal favorite, the tweets talking about the hundreds of pounds of opiates seized with the same goal of proving the border is open, only the same observation applies. If the border is so open how did Border Patrol find and seize all those drugs?
So what is it skud? Is Border Patrol doing it's job or are you so married to the myth that Biden isn't helping that you continue to ignore evidence?
Next point - what rich kids are getting their student loans covered? You believe those who make $150K are rich? LOL In today's market that IS the middle class. Do try to keep up.
For the record skud, the bills passed by Biden had to (and I repeat HAD TO) pay for themselves in order to get through our current Congress. Not so for the Trumpie Tax Shelter for Billionaires; legislation you yourself wrote in favor of several times.
I guess only one side has to make the check book balance, amirite?
The legislation currently passed helps the middle class and some poor folks. The fact you are complaining as hard as you are says to me you are neither poor nor part of the middle class.
And right on cue - from Joni Ernst today. She tweeted "Enough fentanyl to completely wipe-out entire cities in the U.S. has been seized at the Southern border. Tweeted at 10:45 AM on Sept 6, 2022.
So, our border is working but will skud acknowledge this fact?
I agree with this: "Biden and his party have done a remarkable job of restoring competence and integrity to a federal government Trump treated as just another racket."
This country, well 30% of the people who voted, voted for a conman whose still conning and crimeing. He even got to a judge, just like a mobster would!
The skuds of the right don't care Biden's a decent man. Maybe they just admire crooks?
Grey, I guess because the CG seizes thousands of pounds of drugs there are none getting in. If that is the case where are all the illegal drugs coming from? You need to visit the border and see for yourself how tight the border is. Maybe you can invite biden and cruella since they haven't been there either.
If college is worth the cost and you make so much more than a HS degree why do they need a handout. Why don't kids in trade school deserve a handout or for that matter someone who buys a truck to start a business. Nope they just get regulated out of business while having to pay super high prices for diesel fuel because of extra taxes to deliver our goods.
The government never pays for anything they just tax it away so your claim that it is paid for is simply untrue. Also according to PEW middle class is 43,500-130,000 so 150,000 is upper, do try and keep up. The idea of a balanced budget is a fraud which will never come true.
RN, The idea of a border wall was and is a good idea just not popular with non border states. Hopefully they just keep sending them North to the sanctuary cities and listen to them complain that it is inhuman, which it is.
skud, PEW may have current data but historically they've been behind in regards to the social curve. I stand by the numbers used by the current administration.
So, you said "The government never pays for anything they just tax it away so your claim that it is paid for is simply untrue.
On it's own government is a tool, nothing more, nothing less. It is a method for an aggressive war like species to live side by side without killing each other. By living in our society we agree to pay a specific number of monies to our government to fund programs which benefit those least able to survive. I guess you skud would bring back the purity squads? No?
And I did not lie. Because Biden has been so scrutinized the office which looks into such things had to be consulted and they decided monies spent on the legislation would address current issues preventing predicted future damage meaning it was cheaper to invest in prevention then have to pay for clean up.
Basic economics skud. As a business owner how do you not know this?
Well skud, if ya think the border is a problem now just wait until the planet starts to experience widespread food shortages, famine, and the wars that will result when mother earth is no longer capable of supporting the planet's population. When people are starving all across the globe, the result of man's impact on our environment.
What you're talking about now is small potatoes compared to what will occur UNLESS the nations of the planet put their shoulders into the wheel that reverses the negative impact\ human industrialization has had on the planet's eco-systems. And the wealthiest nation on the planet, the USA. needs to take the lead in this effort. Although I suspect you will disagree skud. and that's okay. I worry about my grandkids future life if we fail to take the right actions right now.
RN, So we should pour more money into china, india and pakastan who are the worst polluters. We like cheap stuff far more than we like our planet. Look at the millions we give to the paris fleecing who take no action against major polluters but it is a feel good effort. Tell kerry, leo and the hollywood elite they should take public transportation if for no other reason than optics. The US is taking the lead on pollution but we can't do it all.
Not sure what you response has to do with our open border policy but since you live away from the border why would you care. I know Rev our borders are not open just have a severe leak.

Dear "Roc,"
We. Are. NOT. "One nation under Father God." You're thinking of theocracies where people are murdered for not believing in a state religion.
It is people like YOU who threaten our secular democratic republic and seek to dismiss and devalue people of other religions or NO religion.
You and your ideas are what endangers America's democratic republic.
One of our founding fathers, President John Adams, emphatically stated that the United States is NOT a Christian nation:
“As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,..." The Treaty of Tripoli, 1797
If you, Roc, read American history, you would have known this and you wouldn't have written something as inaccurate and unAmerican as you did above.
Imagine being an American and seeimg this BS by our President to go on with no uprising,

It's too bad unions no longer exist in this country. We were much better with unions. Those few who still have unions are glad they do.
We don't have to be at war with each other. The 75% have to vote in huge numbers for years and make the fascists part of the ash heap of history.
skud "Trump is and has always been guilty until proven innocent.
Ron Filipkowski 🇺🇦
Trump is on Truth Social saying that he should now be reinstated as president and Biden removed. Again. But no, the movement he leads is not a threat to democracy.
The fact that Trump is still bleating to be "reinstated" when no such action is in the Constitution painfully shows how delusional he is and how little he regards his cultists' intelligence.
What sort of "leader" behaves in such a manner? And yet, 30 -35% of the American voters want this delusional man in the WH again?
Bravo to that anon conservative. America needs a LOT more of his or her obvious intellect. And much less of caliber demonstrated by trumpublicans .
It's the fence sitters we have to worry about. The same people that gave him 46% in 2016
Holy jumping jimminy. What's going on up there ^^^^^? Happy Labor day!
Trump was not exonerated by my report, Robert Mueller tells Congress
With Relief Plan, Biden Takes on a New Role: Crusader for the Poor
SOURCE
Do you DELIBERATELY ignore all the information that's out there so you can continue to comment incorrectly? I don't know why you constantly repeat that Biden's done nothing for the middle and working classes when anyone can find volumes of information to show that's simply not true.
“Biden has been the most pro-worker and pro-union president in my lifetime, and I’m almost 50,” said Aaron Sojourner, who recently left his job as a labor economist at the University of Minnesota to become a senior researcher at the Upjohn Institute. “You’d have to go back to F.D.R. to get anybody close.”
Trump versus Biden on Worker Issues
Even though many Americans view Donald Trump as a champion of blue-collar workers, Trump did far less to help workers than Biden did.
Try as you might skud facts are stubborn things and you are not capable of altering them to your prefered "fake facts."
But you are free to believe anything you want. Even if it isn't true.
But yes, the border remains a problem. Another promise made by Trump that he failed to keep.

Thanks for your reply.
