What a couple of weeks or so of news. 

Let’s just take a look at the headlines.

Former President Trump was found guilty of business tax fraud by the state of New York.

In the wake of the Trump trial, the GOP and their partisan MAGA supporters accused the Biden Admin of weaponizing the US Department of Justice against the GOP and Donald Trump.

President Joe Biden’s son Hunter was found guilty of violating gun registration laws in a trial brought by the afore mentioned US Department of Justice.

GOP partisans, including the Republican National Committee, riffed all week on President Joe Biden, while he was on foreign soil attending D Day ceremonies in France. Citing videos, many of the MAGA lovers claimed they showed conclusively how frail and demented Biden is.

The Washington Post shows how those videos the GOP and their followers are citing, are fakes and edited clips.

Former President Trump held an outdoor rally, at noon Sunday in Las Vegas, where temperatures were in excess 100 degrees and which sent numerous people in search of medical care.

While there, Trump went on an extended disconnected rant about boats, batteries, sharks and electrocution. No one in the GOP or the MAGA crowd had a single word about the possibility that Trump is losing it or himself is demented.

He also said he doesn’t care about his supporters, he just wants their votes.

The World Bank says the US economy is powering an economic rebound worldwide.

The FBI has released numbers showing generally, violent crime in the US is down year over year by over 15 percent. Murder is down 25 percent. Rape down 25 percent. Robbery 17 percent and aggravated assault down 12 percent. Property crime is also down 15 percent. 

US job growth is surging to historic levels.

We could go on, but you should be able to get the point.

While there are still stubborn problems in the US, perhaps most importantly, inflation and the deficit, the US, under President Biden is in pretty good shape. Which leaves the GOP grasping at straws and resorting to unhinged rants, lies and misdirection.

All because they decided to renominate a lunatic in Donald Trump.

Supreme Court Upholds Broad Access to Abortion Pill 

The justices unanimously rejected a bid to sharply curtail access to a widely available abortion pill, finding that the plaintiffs did not have standing to sue.

In a unanimous decision, written by Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, the court held that the plaintiffs lacked standing to challenge the F.D.A.’s actions. --NYTimes

"Justice Kavanaugh wrote that the groups could instead seek greater regulatory or legislative restrictions on the drug, mifepristone, and noted that doctors who oppose abortion are shielded by so-called conscience protections in federal law, which mean they are not required to provide treatment that would “violate the doctors’ religious beliefs or moral convictions.”

HUNTER BIDEN GUILTY

The two statements below show the glaring difference between Trump and President Biden. 

Trump does NOT believe in the American justice system when HE is held accountable for his crimes, and has shown that he and his MAGAs are willing to destroy our Constitution in service to a despot, Trump.

President Biden affirms his belief in our system of justice, even when it convicts his own son.

Trump is a danger to our system of government; Biden preserves, protects, and defends the Constitution.

"Some interesting points to think about in the aftermath of the Hunter Biden guilty verdict: 

 - Hunter Biden was convicted in the state of Delaware, where the Bidens decidedly have a "home court" advantage -- for the people who say trump couldn't get a fair trial in NYC because they hate him, just look at Delaware. 

 - There was no ridiculous daily parade of same-suit-wearing Senators and members of Congress in the court; just Hunter's mom and family members. 

 - David Weiss, the prosecutor who went after Hunter in this case, was a trump-appointee. President Biden could have had him replaced, but decided to let the justice system play itself out. Because he BELIEVES in the process.

 - Unlike his disgraced, unhinged, convicted felon predecessor, President Biden did not lash out against prosecutors, or the judge, members of the judge's family, or witnesses. Neither did Hunter Biden. 

 - Unlike trump, there were no delays or stupid stunts in this trial.

 - President Biden said he will NOT pardon his son.

 - If President Biden were interfering in the justice system as has been alleged by his detractors, there are so many different ways this could have played out.

 - You will NOT be hearing Democrats tearing down the justice system in the aftermath of this verdict, baselessly declaring it to be rigged, despite the fact that he may have been prosecuted BECAUSE his name is Biden. 

 Most important: NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW. "

PRESIDENT BIDEN'S STATEMENT ON HUNTER BIDEN'S CONVICTION :

 "As I said last week, I am the President, but I am also a Dad. Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today. So many families who have had loved ones battle addiction understand the feeling of pride seeing someone you love come out the other side and be so strong and resilient in recovery. As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal. Jill and I will always be there for Hunter and the rest of our family with our love and support. Nothing will ever change that."

BREAKING: Steve Bannon has been ordered to surrender to prison by July 1. Judge Nichols has revoked his bail. 

Bannon’s sentence for defying the Jan. 6 committee’s subpoena has been on hold while he appealed. 

Today, Judge Nichols (a Trump appointee) ruled that the original reasons for staying the sentence no longer be er applied. Bannon’s sentence would run through early November.

The MAGApublicans are coming after contraception, too…

We are going to ban abortion, IVF, contraception, everything you want,’ and then try to say to the rest of America, ‘Boy, we don’t want any part in that.’” 

 The legislation, led by Sens. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, would establish nationwide rights for individuals to “obtain contraceptives and to voluntarily engage in contraception” and protect health care providers who offer it. It defines contraceptives as “any drug, device, or biological product intended for use in the prevention of pregnancy” and prohibits the federal government or states from enforcing laws or standards that impede that right. It empowers the Justice Department and affected private entities to sue to enforce the new protections.”

 His campaign fixer, Roger Stone; 

 the CEO of Trump’s 2016 campaign, Steve Bannon; 

 and his company CFO, Allen Weisselberg. 

 They’re all convicted felons. 

 It’s a cabal of convicts.”

That may have been a big mistake Judge Merchan depends on the probation report to determine Trump’s sentence. If he cannot follow the rules of probation. Prison may be the necessary sentence. 

 Whether Trump is sentenced to prison, probation or a ‘split sentence’ of prison and probation. Probation services are about to be a big part of Donald Trump’s life. 

Criminals on probation are supposed to accept their guilt and show some signs of remorse and retribution for their crimes. Trump is not likley to do that. If Trump doesn‘t follow the rules. He can and will be violated and sentenced to prison. 

 As a convicted felon,Trump no longer has the freedoms that are afforded to those of us without a felony conviction. One restriction will be on Trump’s travel. As a convicted felon Trump will need permission to leave his state of residence. His passport will be seized and any foreign travel will be prohibited or greatly restricted by his rules of probation. Not only that but many countries do not allow felons to enter their county. This conviction will drastically change Trump‘s life.
