Trump talked about NOT preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution. IOW he's planning on violating his Oath of Office.

President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House, which is prohibited by the Constitution under the 22nd Amendment, saying in an exclusive interview with NBC News that there were methods for doing so and clarifying that he was “not joking.”

“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call with NBC News, referring to his allies. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”

“I’m focused on the current,” Trump added, in some of his most extensive comments to date about serving a third term.

So Trump says he's considering a 3rd term, even though it is prohibited by the Constitution, the law of the land.

Imagine former President Obama, or ANY POTUS, saying anything like this! The sailors on the Mother Ship; every FAUX NOOZ talker and viewer; and the entire MAGA universe would have their hair on fire. But here we have Trump threatening to break the law and become a dictator: *crickets*

Question to the Who's Your Daddy lurkers and to skudrunner, -FJ, Joe Conservative, and Thersites who often visit here:

What do you have to say about Trump's threat to violate his Oath of Office? Also, are you okay with this kind of treasonous threat from Trump -- to ignore a law and break a solemn vow in order to stay in power? Would you be okay with this if it were coming from a Democrat?

You, skudrunner, -FJ, Joe Conservative, Thersites, and Lisa of WYD are Americans, just like my P.E. readers and me. Is this how an American president should behave? Threaten to upend the Constitution and commit a high crime and misdemeanor to retain power? Does this bother you the way it bothers me, a fellow American?

I would like to know your reaction to this unprecedented threat from an American president.

"Under the law, it may be considered treason or a high crime to betray a sworn oath of office. In many cases, the oath is performed using an oath book, typically religious scripture such as the Bible. The word 'oath' and the phrase 'I swear' refer to a solemn vow."

SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC

Project 2025/Trump's plans for America!

AND THIS:

THIS IS HEARTBREAKING.

Max Dashu, Founder and Director at Suppressed Histories Archives:

"Canada just walked away from the United States. We ended our economic and security ties with Trump’s America, but it was historically stunning nonetheless. Not in some passive, “we’re disappointed” way. Not a strongly-worded letter. Not a polite diplomatic eye-roll. No — Prime Minister Mark Carney gave a full break-up speech on live TV.
“The era of deep economic, security, and military ties between Canada and the United States is over.”
And just like that, 150+ years of the world’s most peaceful, "mutually beneficial, boring-but-beautiful border relationship... done - dismantled by one orange blowhard/rapis/felon cosplaying as a capable President when he’s just a Russian asset in a fucking diaper.
"This comes after Trump allegedly tried to set up a phone call with Carney, to which Carney said “nah.”
"Donald Trump — in what might be the most unhinged foreign policy week since “buy Greenland” — slapped a 25% tariff on Canadian auto imports, called Canada a “national security threat,” and floated the idea of annexing us as the 51st state.
"Yes. Annexing. Like Putin-lite. Except fatter and with worse grammar.
"Then, when Canada pushed back by deepening economic ties with the European Union, Trump jumped on Truth Social and typed this out with his whole chest:
“CANADA IS TRYING TO UNDERMINE AMERICA. IF THEY THINK THEY CAN PARTNER WITH THE EU AGAINST US — THERE WILL BE HARSHER SANCTIONS. CANADA AND EUROPE BE WARNED.”
"Carney called that bluff today most soberly and seriously. Canada isn’t taking a break for it’s economic and security alliance - we’re torching it and betting on ourselves with a few other deomcratic superpowers not led by a fucking dotard Putin Puppet.
"Today, Mark Carney made the most consequential announcement of any Canadian Prime Minister in modern history. Visibly pissed but composed, he said enough was enough:
“We have to look out for ourselves. And we will do that.”
“He [Trump] wants to break us so America can own us. And it will never ever happen.”
“We will defend our workers. We will defend our companies. We will defend our country.”
"It felt less like a press conference and more like Churchill with better lighting. That wasn’t a press conference. That was world history in the making. A moment that will come to define us as the world’s biggest energy superpower, and it will be done in an unimaginably short period of time because it has to be. Canada will do things not thought possible. And we’re here, so it has to get done.
"Trump did this. Not Canada. Not Mark Carney. HOWEVER, maybe we should think about sending him a gift basket because the butterfly effect of having the dumbest fascist alive be the 47th president of the United States
"The Global Fallout. This wasn’t just a press hit — it was a geopolitical earthquake. Here’s what’s happened in just 12 hours:
The Canadian dollar surged as markets responded to Carney’s leadership and a pivot toward Europe.
The Dow dropped 700 points after U.S. automakers panicked over retaliatory tariffs and global realignment.
EU leaders released a joint statement backing Canada and fast-tracking trade + defense integration.
American allies from Germany to Japan are quietly freaking out — not because Canada left, but because it finally did what they’ve all been thinking.
“Canada is now the first country on Earth to formally sever close ties with Trump’s America.”

Musk, like his co-president, Trump, breaks laws.

From the post below:

 MORE ELECTION-BY-BRIBERY BY THE NAZI-SALUTING CO-PRESIDENT:

This is illegal: "Musk announced in an overnight post on X that he’ll hand out million-dollar checks at a Sunday night event in Wisconsin—but only to those who voted in the state’s Supreme Court election. Why is Elon so invested in this race? Tesla is facing legal challenges in Wisconsin."

MADISON (WKOW) -- Attorney General Josh Kaul (D-WI) filed a lawsuit on Friday against Elon Musk and his political action committee America PAC, claiming the billionaire tried to buy votes in Wisconsin's Supreme Court election.

I'm just putting this here...

as an example of the utter madness that has gripped this country.

Guess whose children will be subjected to this Dickensian-age regression in child labor laws.

HINT: It won't be DeSantis's kids, nor the children of other rich people.

ORANGE YOU GLAD IT'S FRIDAY?

The most dishonest, felon-saturated regime in American history.

Lost in the firehose of dumb and illegal actions the Trump/Musk regime is splattering all over our country is this:

Trump pardoned Trevor Milton, the founder of bankrupt electric and hydrogen-powered truck maker Nikola, who was convicted of fraud after a jury found him guilty of lying to investors about the company's technology.

"Retail investors lost millions from the fraud perpetrated by Trevor Milton, according to prosecutors in court documents from just two weeks ago.

Milton late Thursday said he was pardoned by President Donald Trump, an assertion the White House has yet to confirm.

Milton in 2023 was convicted for lying about the technological breakthroughs Nikola made when he was chief executive. Most infamously, a prototype electric truck was rolled down a hill, a fact first identified by the short-selling research firm Hindenburg Research. Matthew Podolsky, the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, submitted a filing earlier this month asking the court to order Milton to pay $661 million in restitution to retail investors."

The Trump/Musk Regime Making America Hated Again:

The Felon of the United States threatening like a Mafia Boss/Russian Gangster

UPDATE:  Richard Ingham Evans -- "Can't be more unwanted than this, can you? Not one family in #nuuk , Greenland would accept a visit from the Vice President of the United States and his wife. Want to know how far American popularity and trust has fallen? This is a very , very sad example."

Is this Trump/Musk's idea of making America great again?

***************

What is meant by, ..."go as far as we have to...?" Is Trump making plans to invade a sovereign country that wants no part of him? Didn't his hero, Putin, do this to Ukraine?

When a country elects a convicted criminal, expect criminal behavior:

We Support Greenland, Not Donald Trump

To the people of Greenland,

We stand with you in solidarity on behalf of People Power United, America's largest grassroots organization. We champion progress and power to the people. We are more than 250,000 members strong across all 50 states, and we want to make it clear: we support the people of Greenland—not 34-time convicted felon President-Donald Trump. Almost 80 percent of people who call the United States home did not vote for Trump or his MAGA cult of obedience. His actions do not speak for the majority of us.

The recent attempts by Trump and his Vice President JD Vance to assert control over your land are not only shameful—they are a direct threat to global democracy, sovereignty, and peace. When Trump says, "One way or the other, we're going to get it," he reveals a mindset rooted in colonialism, authoritarianism, and disrespect for self-determination. It is not diplomacy—it is domination.

Greenland, the world's largest island and a territory of Denmark, was granted limited self-rule in 2009, allowing it to manage most of its domestic affairs while Denmark retains control over defense and foreign policy. 1 A growing independence movement has created political tension, with a recent election revealing a split: the leading party favors a gradual path to independence, while the runner-up, which includes a pro-Trump figure, pushes for a faster break. As of January 2024, Greenland has a population of approximately 56,699, with about 35% residing in the capital city of Nuuk.

Let us be crystal clear: Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not a bargaining chip in a geopolitical game.

And Greenlanders are not pawns to be manipulated by an American strongman looking to expand his militarized empire. Greenland is a land of proud people with a history, culture, and vision for the future. As Prime Minister Mute Bourup Egede declared, "Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders." 2 We agree.

Trump's motivations have nothing to do with goodwill or security. They are driven by greed, power, and a desire to militarize the Arctic.

TRUMP THREATENS OUR ALLIES BECAUSE THEY MAY REACT TO HIS TARIFFS. A GANGSTER-TYPE MOVE.

Ed Krassenstein:

"So Trump expects to do economic harm to Canada and Europe, but how dare them if they do something back!

This is why everyone knows trade wars are stupid. Everyone loses.

We’ve seen this happen over and over again in history.

We aren’t just losing economically because of trade wars but we are losing our greatest allies."

UPDATE ON THE VANCE'S UNINVITED VISIT TO GREENLAND

Brian Allen @allenanalysis ·

🚨 BREAKING: U.S. Vice President JD Vance just CANCELED all public events in Greenland.

 Gone from the schedule:
– Nuuk visit
– Sisimiut stop
– Even the dogsled championship

Only thing left? A quiet visit to Pituffik Space Base on Friday.
No photo ops. No crowds. No explanation.

Sermitsiaq (Greenland) Benjamin Ilsøe @binbastic:  As a Dane I can tell you why: The Greenlanders were preparing protests including egg-throwing. Probably not the kind of welcome the Trump administration was expecting. Nor would it be good video footage for FOX News.

Stay the f*** away. There’s your explanation.

Now lister to our former ambassador to Denmark.

Tulsi Gabbard today:

NBC News: The Espionage Act contains a provision making it crime to disclose national defense secrets "through gross negligence." The law does not require info be classified, because it was written before the classification system existed. The law refers simply to "national defense information."

Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, cannot remember details from a crucial meeting she attended about killing targets in Yemen from two weeks ago. In short, she doesn't recall seeing top-secret information shared with her on Signal, such as the time of the operation, the targets, the aircraft, and even the type of bombs the United States used to strike Yemen. This is NOT acceptable. It's more likely she perjured herself.

"A lie to the country":

Atlantic Editor in Chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, has released the Signal war plans text thread:

Hegseth overnight: "Nobody's texting war plans."

Here Are the Attack/War Plans That Trump's Advisers Shared on Signal:

Did everyone catch the text at the bottom of the Signal?

Here it is, and it is illegal if the war plans on Signal are not preserved within 20 days, according to the Presidential Records Act and the Federal Records Act:

"Michael Waltz set disappearing message time to 4 weeks."

From Politico:

Did the Signal chat violate the Espionage Act, and will anyone be prosecuted?

There’s certainly an argument that using Signal for these kinds of chats was so careless that it violated the Espionage Act — but when it comes to someone actually being prosecuted, I wouldn’t hold your breath. It is true that the Espionage Act makes it a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison to handle national security secrets with such “gross negligence” that it allows them to fall into the hands of an unauthorized person. In theory, that should be worrisome for those texting war plans to a journalist.

Is it legal for officials to use Signal for official communications?

It’s not automatically illegal, but it can easily run afoul of the main laws governing recordkeeping: the Presidential Records Act and the Federal Records Act, which set rules dictating which records must be preserved and for how long.

The frequently used “disappearing messages” feature on Signal could pose a particular problem.

A screenshot Goldberg published shows this particular chat was set to automatically delete messages after four weeks. A law President Barack Obama signed in 2014 requires that federal employees who use personal accounts to discuss official business to copy those messages to an official account within 20 days so they can be preserved. That means the officials involved in these discussions on Signal still have time to comply since these messages came about 10 days ago.

SEC DOD Pete Hegseth: “Under the previous administration, we looked like fools. Not anymore.”

Really?

What about this breathtaking incompetence?

Trump officials discussed a secret plan to attack Yemen in a group text chat.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth disclosed war plans in an encrypted chat group that included a journalist two hours before U.S. troops launched attacks against the Houthi militia in Yemen, the White House said on Monday, confirming an account in the magazine The Atlantic.

The editor in chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, wrote in an article published on Monday that he was mistakenly added to the text chat on the commercial messaging app Signal.

And here's Trump's response to the breathtaking incompetency:

"I don't know anything about it. I'm not a big fan of The Atlantic. To me it's a magazine that's going out of business. But I know nothing about it. You're saying that they had what?"

He criticized the Atlantic Magazine!

"Zachary B. Wolf of CNN noted that “Trump intentionally hired amateurs for top jobs. This is their most dramatic blunder.” Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) told Brian Tyler Cohen: “My first reaction... was 'what absolute clowns.' Total amateur hour, reckless, dangerous…. [T]his is what happens when you have basically Fox News personalities cosplaying as government officials.” Foreign policy scholar Timothy Snyder posted: “These guys inherited one of the most functional state apparatus in the history of the world and they are inhabiting it like a crack house.”  --H.C.Richardson

Dear America...

......

This is why we are so dangerously close to becoming an authoritarian country because misguided (and dare I say uneducated?!) Americans say things like this and, worse, believe them!

Jeffrey Guy says: March 25, 2025 at 5:47 am

"I believe that Trump needs to ignore the Judges as he appeals all rulings. Only SCOTUS decisions matter not any district Judges."

I've read a lot of dumb things on the intertubz, but that has to be among the top 5 stupidest and dangerous things, so far!

TRUMP ON GREENLAND:

"It cannot go on the way it is. It's not gonna go on the way it is. I'll make a statement. It's not gonna happen. So they're going there, and it's purely friendship ... people from Greenland are asking us to go there."

Hey President Felon, does this look like Greenlanders "are asking us to go there?"

Another disgusting lie by the Felon in the White House:

Trump: "We are dealing with a lot of people from Greenland that would like to see something happen with respect to being properly protected and properly taken care of. They're calling us, we're not calling them."

The Truth:

The Hill:  "Greenland Prime Minister Múte Bourup Egede slammed second lady Usha Vance’s trip to the Arctic island this week with a delegation of other U.S. officials as being part of the Trump

administration’s “very aggressive” pressure campaign to take over the semiautonomous Danish territory. “Until recently, we could safely rely on the Americans, who were our allies and friends, and with whom we liked to work closely,” Egede told the Greenlandic newspaper Sermitsiaq on Sunday. “But that time is over, we have to admit that, because the new American leadership is completely and utterly indifferent to what we have stood together on so far, because now it is only a matter of them taking over our country over our heads.”

“The very aggressive American pressure against Greenlandic society is now so serious that the level cannot be raised any higher. The only purpose is to show a show of power to us, and the signal is not to be misunderstood,” he added.

Dear gawd!

The petty, infantile, tantrum-pounding toddler who wrote these pathetic rants leads this country.  What sort of sad and sorry country chooses this human felon disaster as its president?

From the NYTimes: "Philippe Baptiste, France’s minister for higher education and research, described the move as worrying.

“Freedom of opinion, free research and academic freedom are values we will continue to proudly uphold,” Mr. Baptiste said in a statement. “I will defend the possibility for all French researchers to be faithful to them, in compliance with the law, wherever they may be in the world.”

Mr. Baptiste did not identify the scientist who was turned away but said that the academic was working for France’s publicly funded National Center for Scientific Research and had been traveling to a conference near Houston when border officials stopped him.

The U.S. authorities denied entry to the scientist and then deported him because his phone contained message exchanges with colleagues and friends in which he expressed his “personal opinion” on the Trump administration’s science policies, Mr. Baptiste said.

It was not immediately clear what led the border authorities to stop the scientist, why they examined the contents of his phone or what they found objectionable about the conversations.

Customs officers are allowed to search the cellphone, computer, camera or any other electronic device of any travelers crossing the border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, although the agency says that such instances are rare. In 2024, less than 0.01 percent of arriving international travelers had their electronic devices searched, according to the agency.

Mr. Baptiste has been particularly vocal over the past few weeks in denouncing threats to academic freedom in the United States, where funding cuts and layoffs by the Trump administration have targeted institutions of higher education, scientific research and the federal government’s own scientific work force.

Mr. Baptiste has also urged French universities and research institutes to welcome researchers seeking to leave the United States.

“Europe must be there to protect research and welcome the talent that can contribute to its success,” Mr. Baptiste wrote on social media after meeting with his European counterparts in Warsaw on Wednesday to address “threats to free research in the United States.”

SATURDAY NIGHT DANCING

This is cool:

This is in a deep Red State: Nebraska

I know that commenters from Who's Your Daddy blogspot come here and read my blog. Even its blog hostess comes here and occasionally comments.

What do you folks think about this? These crowds have not been sent by George Soros or any Democrat. These are Deep Red Republicans who are angry with what Trump, Musk and other oligarchs are doing to our country:

Remember...

when Trump said we'd be "respected again?"

None of this happened when Joe Biden was president.

Thursday, March 20, 2025

The top law enforcement officer of the US knows nothing about the law:

The president’s escalating conflict with federal courts is even more aggressive than what happened in countries like Hungary and Turkey, experts say.

“Honest to god, I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Steven Levitsky, a Harvard political scientist and coauthor of “How Democracies Die” and “Competitive Authoritarianism.”

“We look at these comparative cases in the 21st century, like Hungary and Poland and Turkey. And in a lot of respects, this is worse,” he said. “These first two months have been much more aggressively authoritarian than almost any other comparable case I know of democratic backsliding.”

How did she get to be AG? Oh, wait...
