Never forget that, while Donald Trump was acting as president, he held a foreign bank account in China for an entire year. This man has no respect for the presidency and democracy — and we must never elect him into office again. Period.
This article again supports a "fair tax" system because everyone would pair the Fair Share and not have a system where only the rich can take advantage of our deductions for the rich. This is also why we should not allow contributions to non profit charities and churches be tax deductible. Why should you or I have to support a church I don't believe in or support a charity I don't want to support. The democrats urging trump to disclose his taxes did exactly what they wanted and further prove trump a liar. This was just political gimmick for the sole purpose of embarrassing an enemy and since they have accomplished that now all politicians and those in government their spouses and children should publish their tax returns they should be available on the internet for all to see.

We allow churches and non profits to operate without paying taxes provided they can show that their income is used for their non profit purpose. Further, if someone gives to a non profit, or charity, they can receive a tax deduction for that donation if they meet certain restrictions.
This was a decision the US Government made years ago on the premise that these non profits would do work in their communities and the world that would make it a better place. Whether that was religious work, feeding the homeless, etc.
As to the publication of taxes, presidents sharing their taxes is something that has set us apart from other countries for years. The US has believed, and yes, has IRS rules requiring it, that it is in the public interest for America to know how a president spends his or her money.
Are we wrong on that? Do you believe that is a good thing? A bad thing? Useless?
No skud, it was not just a political gimmick for the sole purpose of embarrassing an enemy...It's about truth, integrity, transparency, and good government. All of which Trump is totally lacking.

Trump sold a multi-million dollar condo to a Chinese govt official at below market value. Trump had business deals with China while has was president. And Trump accused BIDEN of having Chinese ties, which Biden does not!
Trump lied about his connections in China while he was president. Biden DID NOT. Should we the people know who the POTUS is doing private business with while presidenting????

If I give money to a church or a qualified charity even if they send that money to another country it is deductible so how is it you say it is not.

So far it hasn't been proven that trump did anything illegal. Did he lie about his income and charity contributions, yes but lying is not illegal. He had some good accountants who took advantage of the tax code which our elected elite put in place. If we ever want to have a tax system that treats everyone Fairly we need to adopt the Fair Tax System and that way the rich pay their Fair Share which is what everyone clamors about. They would lose all the deductions they take to lower their taxes. The percent could be income based so the higher earners pay a higher percent and the lowest earners pay nothing, or punish the rich, a liberals dream.
I cannot see this type of tax plan ever getting by congress because it would take the power from them to punish at a whim and it would mean fewer IRS agents rather than more which would shrink their domain.
We know that neither party will work for the American people because the republicans have said they will investigate everyone and the democrats will pursue actions on trump. As to hunter, he is a disgusting person who only a father could support so good for joey.

Well, skud, lots of people in the government believe that taking top secret government documents is stealing, and we know that Trump did that.
Also, we actually heard him on a recording of a telephone conversation with the secretary of state of Georgia, asking said SoS to "find 11,780 votes" to change the outcome of Georgia's election. That sounds illegal, doesn't it? And it actually IS illegal. Also inciting an insurrection and encouraging your mob to kill your own vice president sounds a tad wrong too, doesn't it?
Trump is a crook. We've never had anyone as president as corrupt as he is. His crimes will catch up with him eventually, and if we want to continue to believe we are a nation of laws, not men, Trump will face the consequences of his crimes.

I have a question or two - how is making Thing 45 fulfill a promise made both in office and on the campaign trail a ‘political gimmick’?

Beyond glad there are plans in the works to ensure future holders of office have to submit their tax returns. If Thing 45 had done what he promised (I know - best joke EVAH!!!) We The People would have know about his ties to countries not exactly friendly with the USA. Certainly explains some of the boneheaded decisions made during his administration.
If you or I had performed 1/100 of what we know Thing 45 and his minions did we wouldn’t have had time for a family holiday.
Off topic - the fair tax movement skud loves to promote doesn’t provide funding for Medicare or Social Security. Didn’t see anything in my brief dive to replace them either. At this moment it appears that if you are disabled or old you are expected to die. I’d have more respect (not agreement but hey, they are being honest) if they’d just kill us. Grey, If you read my post I said all politicians should have their tax returns released on the internet not just democrats. As to any president fulfilling his promises is a joke, he turned politician soon after inauguration and was not expected to honor any promise. Much like the last two.
It seems you are confused with the Fair Tax or maybe income tax in general. Income tax is the amount the government seizes calculated on your net income after you deduct all the deductions allowed in our incomprehensible tax code. If you are rich there are a significant number of deductions you can take to reduce your net. Of course this only applies to the 50% who pay FIT. Medicare and Social Security are a different tax which would not be affected by a Fair Tax. In order to keep both of these programs solvent we need to pay SS and Medicare on 100% of earnings.
Hope this help you better understand out regressive tax system.
President Biden and former President Obama accomplished a great deal. The fact you and other dyed in the wool cons don't approve of their accomplishments in office is as irrelevant as what i had for lunch today.
