Well it is, but they did it, despite the fact that a Supreme Court verdict back in 1980, Stone v. Graham, determined that it violated the Establishment Clause of the Constitution when Kentucky tried the exact same thing.
Conservative Republicans have been steadily chipping away at the norms and laws that protect our nation's most vulnerable citizens, like how they did away with crucial segment from the Voting Rights Act, and how they just overturned Roe v Wade.
Laws like this will negatively affect students who do not share the same religious beliefs as the majority of students, and could even stigmatize them as lesser members of the student body." --Really American

Simply unbelievable. Soon there will be a statue of Christ in every school and government building.
Perhaps study hour will become prayer hour and every student will be required to read passages in the bible.
The push back from those fearful of the changes occuring in our country and the greater world will only get stronger in the US.
It will be interesting as Buddhism develops deeper roots in the US and throughout the western world to witness how Christians react. Especially in the US.

You're free to be a "Christian", but not one with the values that the Bible shows Jesus Christ to have.
Those Christians don't count. They aren't part of the Christian Right's identity.
And post the christain commandments on the back wall of the room and all the other religions on the front wall.
