YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP! Part The Infinity

Hey, Missouri! Are you okay?

Sen. Mike Moon reiterates support for 12-year-old's right to marry in Missouri

"During debate Tuesday on a bill banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors, Missouri State Senator Mike Moon suggested children as young as 12 should have the right to marry with parental permission.

'Do you know any kids who have been married at age 12? I do. And guess what? They're still married,' Moon said in response to questioning by Democratic state Representative Peter Meredith.

 [SKIP]

" 'I've heard you talk about parents' rights to raise their kids how they want. In fact, I just double checked. You voted no on making it illegal for kids to be married to adults at the age of 12. If their parents consented to it, you said actually, that should be the law because it's the parents right and the kids right to decide what's best for them. To be raped by an adult,' Meredith said."

So here's a Missouri state representative (Republican) who wants to protect children from gender-affirming care for minors, but sees nothing wrong with passing a state law to allow the marriage of 12-year-old girls to adults.

That's legalizing pedophilia and the rape of little girls.

Is anyone paying attention to these creepy anti-female Republicans?

So the spiteful Trumpers in Missouri couldn't get their way on banning books, so now they're banning libraries:

Missouri House GOP Votes To Defund All Public Libraries

By Ed Scarce — April 12, 2023   "In what can only look like a headline straight from The Onion, Missouri Republicans voted to defund all state libraries, as well as costs for diversity initiatives, childcare and pre-kindergarten programs.

"The GOP passed a budget in MO that will not fund public libraries because “librarians are suing over their First Amendment Rights…” (Peter Meredith, D - MO)."

Missouri, the "Show Me" state:  "Show me a state legislature crazier than ours!"

Oy Vey!

The USA we were born into is gone.

It's true things are always changing, and that eveything is impermanent. But i never thought i'd see the day that a significant number of states in the nation would hit the breaks on progress and throw the social engine into reverse. But that is what's happening.

And here we are (the USA). Staring ignorance head on ready to jump into the abyss.

Shaw... the way things are going in the GOP, I'm sure we can see crazier on the horizon.

Especially on the abortion and sex front.

Look, it's been awhile but here's a comment from former GOP Governor and presidential candidate Rick Santorum...

“One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country... Many in the Christian faith have said, ‘Well, that’s OK, contraception is OK.’ It’s not OK. It’s a license to do things in the sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.”

Now DeSantis signs a 6 week abortion ban.

They've been crazy for awhile and they're gonna be crazy for awhile longer.

What will a group of Americans think about American in 100 years when they are studying US history and thinking about the GOP between 2008 and ???."

Les,
"The USA we were born into is gone. It's true things are always changing, and that everything is impermanent."

The first statement holds for the Trump Cult too, which is why they want to take "their country back".

It's the second statement that snaps their garters. They can't handle change, especially as the are losing their influence privilege and power as a minority. it triggers their amygdala into anger and fear that metastasizes into hate. It is the way authoritarians/conservatives have always been wired.

The majority is learning what can go wrong when they impose their authoritarian rule.

Dave,

"What will a group of Americans think about America in 100 years...?"

We have to wonder if there will be a United States and what it would look like. We can only hope this mess will be remembered as the darkness before the dawn of our renewed progress.

Will this white nationalism be rejected and disgraced, and the words of our first Republican President ever ring true?

“The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely, they will be, by the better angels of our nature.”

Hey, Missouri, move over! South Dakota said "Hold my beer!"

Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) just bragged at the NRA convention she has given her almost-2-year-old grandchild a shotgun and a rifle.

This is what grooming looks like.

I don't know about any of you who read this blog, but no one, and I mean NO ONE I've ever known in my lifetime (and I'm a grandmother, too), would THINK of doing this. And here's this repulsive woman bragging about giving a toddler, still in diapers, a weapon of death.

The difference between Liberal grandmothers and Trumpublican grandmothers?

I gave my 2-year-old grandchildren books; Trumpublican grandmothers given their toddler grandchildren guns.
