BREAKING NEWS: Donald just testified he was president in 2021. 😳
When a prosecutor asked him if he prepared the 2021 financial statement himself, Donald responded:
“I was so busy in the White House, focusing on Russia and China and keeping our country safe.”
The lawyer responded ,“You weren’t president [when they were drafted].”
Imagine the coverage this would be getting if Donald were 80 years old!

Biden was inaugurated in 2020? Who knew?
Trump was president for 19 1/2 days in 2021, and was busy alright -- busy with planning a coup d'etat against his own government because he could not accept the fact that he lost the 2020 election.
No one even with HALF a brain would believe during that time (while Trump was conspiring to overturn the 2020 election) that he was concerning himself with "Russia, China, and keeping America safe."
In fact, Trump was busy plotting to commit election fraud against the United States.
The sad part is with all that trump has done he is still ahead in the polls over joey b. This points out that how distasteful joey b's administration is to the American people.

1 day ago — President Biden is trailing Donald J. Trump in five of the six most important battleground states one year before the 2024 election, ...
This is after trumps unfavorable rating is 60% while joey b is 57%. Guess most think joey b is not doing a good job. I did read where the democrats are not going to nominate joey b for 2024 which will ease some peoples minds about harris stepping in when she has a worse rating than biden or donald.
Karnak the mentalist reads Trump's mind...
Skud. Polls at this time mean nothing. They’re nothing more than a snapshot of what some Americans ate thinking.
Are thinking.
If the polls showed joey b was leading trump they would be valid. This was a NYT poll not fox news but the leftist NYT so you can dismiss it but you can't say it is incorrect. You state that trump made a statement when he wasn't president but joey b makes statements that are lies and misrepresent the truth weekly. Why not admit that both of them are not fit to be president and find someone else. If the democrats continue with the insane idea that biden is their candidate trump may win. If either party comes up with someone sane they can win so why not support getting rid of joey b and nominate someone sane and capable.
Who said this stuff today...
“I’m not a windmill person...”
“I have a castle... At some point, maybe in my very old age, I’ll go there and do the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen.”
Seriously, and folks think Biden has lost it?
BTW, for the clueless among us and for those idiots advocating nuking Gaza not thinking about any fall out that might infect Israel, it's our former president.
skud "This was a NYT poll not fox news but the leftist NYT so you can dismiss it but you can't say it is incorrect."
Can you show me where I said the poll was incorrect? I wrote this: "Polls at this time mean nothing. They’re nothing more than a snapshot of what some Americans ate thinking."
That is a valid statement.
skud: "You state that trump made a statement when he wasn't president but joey b makes statements that are lies and misrepresent the truth weekly."
I pointed out that Trump said in 2021 he was busy dealing with "Russia, China, and keeping America safe," but in fact, for 19 1/2 days in January 2021 he was involved in inciting an insurrection and overturning a free and fair election. The safety of Americans would have been the LAST thing on his twisted mind. He was trying to illegally hang onto power.
You state that President Biden lies and "misrepresents the truth weekly," without giving any examples to back that up.
Biden has been a good president, considering what he has to deal with.
You can look up his administration's accomplishments, but that would mean you'd have to overcome your proclivity to dismiss anything good he's done and face actual facts.
Skud... I've stated many times I am not a Biden in 2024 guy. That said, I'm pretty sure the Dems are all in and if it's Trump, like I did in 2016, I'll once again sit it out.
If these two are the best of the best of America, we're in pretty bad shape.
Dave M.
Did that guy who suggested nuking Gaza reveal that Israel has nukes?
"Israel is widely believed to possess weapons of mass destruction, and to be one of four nuclear-armed countries not recognized as a Nuclear Weapons State by the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)."
Shaw... it's someone from the usual club of crazy solutions that have no chance at working. One who has a balcony suite on the HMS Mothership of Denial...
tRUMP should be executed for treason. Let's get to it!
“Trump is already talking about using the Insurrection Act on his first day in office, if he is reelected, to put down any civil protests. I can’t stress this enough. No matter what you think of Biden, his age, his policies, he is no dictator. He believes in democracy. We cannot let Trump anywhere near the White House again. “—George Takei
Please. They only drag Joe Biden out for ceremonies and photo ops. The US Intelligence Community and Deep State bureaucracy is running the country. It's all on Autopilot.

"Please. They only drag Joe Biden out for ceremonies and photo ops. The US Intelligence Community and Deep State bureaucracy is running the country. It's all on Autopilot."
Is that what the uranium fillings in your molars transmitted to you?
Why, did you catch the signals with your ELINT sensors? Or was any mentalism/ mind reading involved?
Joe opined... "The US Intelligence Community and Deep State bureaucracy is running the country. It's all on Autopilot."
Since Biden and the autopilot took office, in 11 quarters we've seen economic growth in 9 of them and quarter 3 of 2023 showed 4.9% economic growth.
Unemployment has hovered between 4% and 3.4%
We're out of Afghanistan, albeit in a messy way.
The autopilot has reaffirmed our support for Israel in a way few presidents have in my lifetime.
The autopilot has overseen a government where the debt has increased by 1.8 trillion bucks. A lot for sure, but only 25% of the two prior admins.
Autopilot inflation sits at about 3.5%. With supply chain issues still happening after Covid, it's still too high, but not bad.
The US, on autopilot, is continuing its string of years since 2019 as a net energy exporter.
Sadly, autopilot has a blindspot regarding the border and illegal immigration. But maybe the "deep state" is keeping the Jetson's autopilot from functioning on that issue.
One last thought Joe...
The autopilot has not encouraged an insurrection against the Federal Government, or called into question the US election system. That alone has saved us millions of $$$ in repair costs to the Capitol and avoided countless injuries to the US Capitol police force.
You also won't see the autopilot as a defendant in a court case anytime soon. Not federal, civil or state.
Since Biden and the autopilot took office, in 11 quarters we've seen economic growth in 9 of them and quarter 3 of 2023 showed 4.9% economic growth.
You've bought into their hyperreality, Dave. The numbers from today have been redefined into something completely different today. The CPI, et al, today is a sad, SAD joke.
The control setting for the Autopilot are being continuously HACKED. All remaining money is being hoovered away into offshore corporate accounts. As the WEF often boasts, "You will own nothing, and like it". Now go eat your bugs.
It's all hypernormal now... the wars, the bank failures, the deficits. The "insurrections". All of it.
Let's just cut through it all as it relates to former President Trump.
If he is not guilty of all the charges, in all the cases, of all the indictments, he should offer up a defense. To date, he has never done that. Never. Instead, he has said he cannot be tried... why is it a problem, remember, he's innocent. He has tried to stonewall and delay every trial. Again, why? Isn't he innocent?
The fact is... IMO Donald Trump is guilty. Of a great many of the charges he's been charged with and the proof is that he's unable to offer up any positive defense.
He did the deeds.
His only defense is that he had a right to do them.
Except that he didn't.
No one here should even entertain the idea, pushed by many conservatives, that he's immune because he was president. But stop and think about for a minute... that immunity defense is not a "I did not do it" defense. It''s the I had a right to do it defense.
Why are we still entertaining his defenders? When even he's not offering a defense?
JoeCon/-FJ: "You've bought into their hyperreality, Dave."
Says the guy who still believes the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, was sure the recounts in Arizona, Wisconsin, and Georgia would prove there was fraud in the 2020 election.
Nothing was found, so JoeCon/-FJ tells everyone that we've "brought into their hyperreality."
Of course, HIS reality is the only correct one. Yeah. That's the ticket.
JHC!
Everyone's personal "reality" is but the illusions generated in their own mind. Generally they have not much to do with true reality as they are based solely on the individuals conditioning and reified beliefs developed over years of conditioning. What we're seeing relative to tRump and MAGA is grounded in straight up fear. Fear that was born out of the changing demographics and face of America.
Off topic, but, sure hope Biden listens to Axelrod and Yang. Or we just might have tRump reruns for, well, it could be anyone's best guess for how long.
Damn, this sure is a tiring run on a human hampster wheel.
Rev, When did trump offer up anything except his bullying ways which he is a master of. There is little doubt that trump did a number of things he is accused of, not all but many. This civil "trial" about over reporting his worth and is not relevant to the indictments he is facing as president but it does prove how he can dominate the headlines. The majority of people couldn't care less that he inflated his property value but they just want to watch the ringmaster conduct his circus. The judge decided before it started that he was guilty so this is to determine punishment which is not newsworthy but now is.
I do agree with leslie that the dems need to get jill to pull joey b from the ticket or we could face another trump fiasco, good for the middle class and entertainment but a bad image to project to the world. The other day barry used the same line that trump did in that there are good players on both sides but barry got away with it and donald was called everything in the book of hate, ever wonder why.
skud "The other day barry used the same line that trump did in that there are good players on both sides but barry got away with it and donald was called everything in the book of hate, ever wonder why."
Skud! When Trump said there were "good people on both sides," the "both sides" he was referring to were NAZIs and nonNAZIs! That's why he got so much well-deserved criticism. Are Nazis good people????
Was former President Obama referring to Nazis and non-Nazis when he said there were good people on both sides? If he was, could you please provide a link? You certainly are very quick to find fault with former President Obama, even when there isn't any! I often wonder why.
Here's what former President Obama said: "Barack Obama offered a complex analysis of the conflict between Israel and Gaza, telling thousands of former aides that they were all “complicit to some degree” in the current bloodshed.
There is no lie in that statement: "...complicit to some degree..."
Former President Obama: “What Hamas did was horrific, and there’s no justification for it,” Mr. Obama said. “And what is also true is that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable.”
"He continued: “And what is also true is that there is a history of the Jewish people that may be dismissed unless your grandparents or your great-grandparents, or your uncle or your aunt tell you stories about the madness of antisemitism. And what is true is that there are people right now who are dying, who have nothing to do with what Hamas did.”
Nothing he said is untrue.
Have you done a thorough study going back hundreds of years up to the establishment of Israel? Do some reading and get the facts. FACTS, not reading or hearing sound-bites of what Obama or anyone says about the tragedy that's been ongoing forever in that part of the world.
No. Former President Obama DID NOT SAY HAMAS WAS A "GOOD PLAYER." He spoke of the conflict between Israel and GAZA! He did not say HAMAS!
I don't know if you have seen Rabbis, Israelis, and American Jews who DO NOT AGREE WITH WHAT ISRAEL HAS DONE AND IS DOING IN GAZA1. But a difference of opinion within the Jewish community actually exists!
You, and others, try to reduce this complex tragedy to simplistic and inaccurate slogans and quotes just because former President Obama spoke the truth.
Nothing is simple in the Middle East.
skud "The majority of people couldn't care less that he inflated his property value but they just want to watch the ringmaster conduct his circus."
Well, skud, what Trump did is actually unlawful. Do you believe Trump should get away with breaking the law? If so, why should he escape accountability when others do not? Do you believe in two tiers of accountability in the law, one for the rich and famous and one for the rest of us? It certainly sounds like you do, with you casual dismissal of Trump's crimes.
2 points...
1. Even if what happened in NY with Trump's properties is a "victimless crime" it doesn't matter. NY law does not require an aggrieved victim. The act of fraud, by law in that state, is fraud whether there is a victim or not.
You cannot lie, or misrepresent your wealth, on required real estate and tax forms.
It's a crime.
And the fact that the state lost millions in tax revenue because of those valuations and calculations, shows in fact, there were victims.
The taxpayers.
2. Skud, can you provide a link to the video, or a transcript where "barry [sic] used the same line that trump did in that there are good players on both sides"?
I'll save you time. You won't because you can't. It does not exist. So once again, you are either wrong, or lying.
He dis say "If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth. And you then have to admit nobody's hands are clean." I understand his defending Hamas because they are Muslim and they have his support but to say he didn't defend hamas is false.
Rev, two points, I didn't say trumps crime is victimless what I said is it is a civil suit which means it is not a criminal felony. I assume you didn't understand my response and didn't intentionally lie to make me look bad.
"If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth. And you then have to admit nobody's hands are clean."
So why doesn't the State of NY simply adjust Trump's real estate tax assessment to Trump'sstated property values and tax him accordingly?
Oh my, a reasonable solution presents itself.
You really think wanted to pay more property taxes?
Skud... once again your lack of SRA skills are showing up.
I never said you mentioned a victimless crime. If you reread my comment, you'll see you were not mentioned in that section. Joe, -FJ or whoever he is today has frequently spoken about actions against Trump because he's being charged with a mostly "victimless crime."
That's what I was addressing in my frst point.
Point 2 is directly related to you and your penchant to be lazy with language.
You said... "barry [sic] used the same line that trump did in that there are good players on both sides"?
I simply asked for the link where former President Obama said that. Those exact words. not your interpretation. Because you said he used the same line as did then President Trump.
I listened to the Pod Save America podcast with Obama again yesterday and confirmed that he NEVER used the words you say he did. Then you responded with this quote from Obama, which is accurate...
"If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth. And you then have to admit nobody's hands are clean."
Nowhere in the statement did Obama use the words you said he used.
So why did you do that?
I've said many times I appreciate you commenting here. I think you're a decent guy. But you are careless with language. Words matter. When you quote someone, you should strive to be accurate. And if it's your interpretation of their words, just say so.
Because misquoting someone's words, especially when they are readily available to double check, is wrong, misrepresents the truth and can cause people harm.
Joe asked...
"So why doesn't the State of NY simply adjust Trump's real estate tax assessment to Trump'sstated property values and tax him accordingly?"
and...
"You really think [Trump] wanted to pay more property taxes?"
A couple of thoughts...
First, Trump broke the law and the law in NY does not require a victim in the case of fraud. Simply committing the act, in this case lying and misrepresenting the truth on business forms, to which Ivanka testified yesterday got Trump Inc, better terms of interest, is a crime.
The crime of fraud.
As such, the AG is empowered to pursue the crime. As for Trump's property tax values, assessments, etc, in some mythical world that does not exist with Trump, I suppose the state could have knocked on his door, said "Hey, we see a problem so you owe us 250 million bucks" and Trump would say "You caught me, my bad, here's a check."
But Trump would have fought tooth and nail against that.
The state has a right to that money. Pure and simple. The Trump Admin, the judge has found, lied and committed fraud. So Trump must pay the fine.
That's how it is done with criminals. As the theme song for Baretta once said, "f you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Don't do it."
As for Trump's desires to not "pay more property taxes", I think Trump is like most of us. No one wants to pay more, or even any taxes. He even essentially said so in one of the debates when he boasted that not paying taxes "makes me smart."
But that is beside the point.
Do all you can legally to avoid taxes. The key word being legally. But Trump Inc, and the trustees of that organization have been judged to have committed fraud to game the system, get unfair business advantages against rivals and deprive the state of legal tax revenue.
Two things can be true at the same time...
Trump could very well be on trial because the left leaning AG hates his guts and thinks he is bad for New York and America.
But if he was not guilty of fraud, as the judge has already decided because the Trump legal team declined a trial by jury, then the AG would have been unable to bring this case.
Simply committing the act, in this case lying and misrepresenting the truth on business forms, to which Ivanka testified yesterday got Trump Inc, better terms of interest, is a crime.
Tha Banks performed no "due diligence" and gave him better rates? What victimless crimes were they guilty of? Why weren't they charged with bank fraud? Will they "pay a fine", too, for providing a fraudulent loan? Doesn't the State have a right to that money, too?
And why is this a "civil fraud" charge, and NOT a "criminal fraud" one? Because of the evidenciary standards involved being so much less?
btw - Getting this case thrown out on appeal is much easier when it's decided by a corrupt and admittedly biased judge.
Joe stated... "Tha [sic] Banks performed no "due diligence" and gave him better rates? And blah blah blah."
It doesn't matter. His actions were fraudulent, chargeable only under New York's Civil Code.
And again, two things can be true at the same time...
The judge can be biased and even corrupt. And rule legally within the law.
I know that's hard for Trump and apparently others to grasp, but it is true.
Sorry, but in the words of the inimitable Ducky, keep pitching.
Failure to perform due diligence is no longer an acceptable defense? Who knew? Better go edit the Wikipedia definition before anyone else see's it.
from Wiki:
Due diligence is the investigation or exercise of care that a reasonable business or person is normally expected to take before entering into an agreement or contract with another party or an act with a certain standard of care.
Due diligence can be a legal obligation, but the term more commonly applies to voluntary investigations. It may also offer a defence against legal action. A common example of due diligence is the process through which a potential acquirer evaluates a target company or its assets in advance of a merger or acquisition.[1] The theory behind due diligence holds that performing this type of investigation contributes significantly to informed decision making by enhancing the amount and quality of information available to decision makers and by ensuring that this information is systematically used to deliberate on the decision at hand and all its costs, benefits, and risks.[2
How many hundreds of years of case law must we ignore/ overturn to implement Lawfare's new Trump business loan standard?
Joe...
You're purposely ignoring reality. This is a Civil, not criminal trial. Civil laws are different, as is the standard for guilt/innocence.
Due diligence does not come into play here. The simple fact is you are arguing for the right of a business to commit fraud by lying to their clients and claim you, as the aggrieved party, in some caveat emptor world should have known better.
Except most of America knows better.
The tobacco companies tried to hide behind that dodge too.
I realize you may not like the laws of New York. That's fine. In true conservative logic, if you live there, move.
Or take the logic of former SCOTUS Justice Scalia when he said, if you don't like the law, change the law.
The fact is, the laws under which Trump is being civilly tried are on the books. He and his business partners/trustees should have known about them. Ignorance of the law has never been a defense, and I'm pretty sure you know that.
Due diligence does not come into play here.
Banks no longer have to perform Due Diligence? Does that mean my $1b loan will be approved next week?
...has anybody told the Bank regulators?
