Amen.

Sixty-four days & the economy isn't fixed? It only took us thirty years to get here. I remember a president telling the country government wasn't the solution, government was the problem. Subsequent Republican administrations have since worked to make that dream come true and we are left with the results of those policies. A wrecked economy and an unending war.

Relax people. We're going to make it.

I was thrilled to the point of jubilation when President Obama told the reporter he waited a couple days before commenting n the AIG bonuses because he wanted to be sure of what he was talking about. Damn I am glad I supported Obama for Senator and President.

Doesn't that just say it all? We have the patience of 2 year olds! The only thing more ridiculous than our impatience are the people BLAMING him for the mess we're in.

Who ever heard of Gregg Judd before Obama nominated him for Commerce Secretary?

Now, he is a spokesman for the Republicans.

A guy who did not realize he and Obama had some policy conflicts until after his nomination was announced.

Or was it that he did not realize that his business deals with relatives would come under scrutiny during the confirmation hearings...

A real leader....

Truth: Wouldn't it have been beter if Obama had spent these two days looking for the approval of the AIG bonuses in the bailout bill BEFORE he signed it?

That would have been much more "thrilling".

The AIG bonuses?

As if. The problems in the financial sector are so vast it practically defies belief. And they require a lot of work to sort out. On the other hand EVERYONE who can read a headline or the slowcrawl on CNN or Fox 'gets' the AIG bonus 'story' immediately.

This is yet another example of the insight contained in the cartoon kicking off this thread. A complacent, disinterested electorate eager for a simple explanation of a complex problem. In this case eager for a scapegoat to relieve them of some of the fury they now feel after years of swallowing the 'government is the problem' lie.

Yawn.

Truth be told Dmarks, were I in President Obama's shoes, Geitner would be looking for a new job and Chris Dodd would be on the bad list.
