Sean and Glenn and Lou--Our Very Own National Idiots

There's an endless supply of crazies out there. And many of them have their own conservative radio talk and teevee shows.

I can't decide who's the wackiest of the three in the post title above.

Wait.

Yes I Can.

It's Beck, hands down. No one can beat Beck in the deranged trou de cul category.

Hannity is just plain dumb, and Lou is in desperate need of a ratings boost, hence his foray into Crazy Town.

I'll let Jon Stewart explain it all. (For some reason I can't get the imbed code to work.)

And now this next bit of information on how certain regions of this country are influenced by idiots like Hannity, Beck, and Dobbs. This is truly embarrassing:

Only 42 percent of Republican respondents in a Research 2000 survey, conducted for the liberal website Daily Kos, said they thought Obama was a natural born citizen; 28 percent said they did not believe Obama was born in the United States; 30 percent said they were not sure.

The responses, which were gathered after several prominent conservative media personalities fed suspicion that Obama was unconstitutionally holding office, show the extent to which the conspiracy has taken hold in the GOP.
That only a plurality of Republicans were willing to acknowledge the president was born in America is nothing short of astounding, considering the preponderance of evidence that confirms his Hawaiian birth.

The conspiracy has a regional flavor. Overall, even including Democrats and independents, only 47 percent of respondents in the South said they believed Obama was born in America, with 23 percent saying he was not and 30 percent saying they were unsure. In the Northeast and Midwest, the percentage of respondents who believe Obama was born in the U.S. was over 90 percent.

Ninety-three percent of Democrats say the president was born in the United States, as do 83 percent of independents.

The Research 2000 findings were pulled together from a survey of 2,400 adults.

Dear Shaw, Although you and I are worlds apart politically, I have always respected you as a blogger..Although I haven’t commented much, I have been reading your blog often. Let me say that I have quite a few friends who are on the other aisle politically, but we can still talk and discuss things without being vicious or by using stupid pictures or catch phrases.
I must say that this new blog of yours, shows me that you are not the person that I respected and who i though she was.
You have sunk to a low with this blog to a level where you yourself has always rejected. You have always claimed that my side the conservative side did things such as this. M well now the shoe is on the other foot. And YOU complain about Obama bashing? It Is You Who Have Sunk Low !
Shame on YOU!

Dear RepublicanGirl,

I have not attacked you.

I have called teevee personalities idiots. When people like Hannity, Beck, and Dobbs repeat outrageous lies and seek to undermine this administration with misrepresentations and half-truths, they open themselves up to ridicule and mocking.

If you look at my blog roll, you will see I have linked to a number of thoughtful, non-hysterical conservative blogs. A number of thoughtful conservative commenters come here, and we engage in thoughtful discussions. I do not mock people who give serious thought to setting out their ideas and criticism.

The three people I've profiled here contribute nothing to discussions on vital issues facing America. They are fear-mongers.

And IMHO deserve all the derision and mocking people give them.

You have not been singled out for any of that; this blog is not mocking you, so I don't understand why you feel victimized by my righteous contempt for them.

RepublicanGirl, I believe you are being too harsh in your criticism of Shaw. Partisan politics is often petty and never pretty, but we do deserve a higher ethical standard from our so-called journalists.

There was a time not long ago when broadcast news was considered fair and impartial, when news anchors did not abuse their positions of trust to advance a personal or partisan agenda. No longer.

These days, news stories are shrink-wrapped inside the bias of reporters and their corporate employers. News is editorialized, opinion-ized, politicized, and hyped by talking heads eliciting the phony hysteria of a game show. The news, and our supposed responses to the news, are pre-packaged upon delivery as if citizens can no longer be trusted to make their own minds.

When news is no longer accurate, fair, and impartial, then all it is demagoguery, pandering, and sensationalism. We deserve higher quality journalism, not the tabloid trash that masquerades as news.

I did say that I was surprised at the blog you posted.
It wasn't anything you said about me, but my comment was a general one about how I felt about you blog.
I did not state anywhere that you were mocking me or singled out me.

How many time have you criticized people for putting up political cartoons that made fun of others?
How many times have to stated that we should discuss things rather than disgrace? The type of criticism you have used here validates our already low opinion of ourselves.
Criticism should be an acknowledgment of what the other person has done wrong, not to ridicule them.
If I posted a silly cartoon of Obama as a clown, I’m sure you would be among the first to criticize me.
For example, Monkeys have long been depicted when satirizing something that's inane and senseless or stupid. If I posted a cartoon of Obama as a Monkey, you would call me a racist, wouldn’t you?

And also, by the way, in regard to one of your previous blogs...you can be arrested in your own residence, without a warrant, in all 50 states, based on probable cause.

Less than half of the republican voters thought President Obama was a natural born citizen. But instead of focusing on the blind fools that hang on every word the three guys Shaw posted about, they instead direct their outrage because they were pictured as the clowns they are.

Good stuff Shaw. I gotta learn to photoshop.

RepublicanGirl,

Glenn Beck and President Obama are not equals.

Glenn Beck is not an elected official; he is an entertainer. And not a very good one, IMHO.

I've heard people say that he himself has said that he doesn't believe half the stuff he says [I heard this about Hannity as well]. They know that being provocative and controversial gets people talking about them and their shows, and that's what they value above all else.

They are not elected representatives of the American people. They're self promoters who make a very good living out of misrepresenting issues and sensationalizing very serious matters.

Mr. Obama is the president of the United States and is also half-black. If you did post a photo him as a monkey [as you suggested in your hypothetical example], that would not be considered entertainment or satire; that absolutely would be racist, since equating primates with African-Americans has a shameful history in this country as a means to dehumanize a minority.

I'm not sure by your comment if you're aware of this.

Beck, Hannity, and Dobbs have used the power of their celebrity to attack and ridicule the Mr. Obama and the Democratic party, which, in turn, has opened them up to any sort of retaliation that the Democrats or anyone else they attack can return in kind.

I'm sorry you don't see it that way.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dr. Dave,

You're being awfully dramatic. It will not be the end of America.

Medicare [a government run health care program for seniors] was instituted over 40 years ago.

America is still here.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Thin Blue Line wrote:

"I am also appalled by the cartoon depicting and reference to Talk Show Hosts, after all your preaching about it."

I don't remember "preaching" about NOT attacking talk show hosts.

When they attack and make fun of the president and the Democrats, they're going to have to withstand the same kind of ridicule.

If they give it out; they'll have to be men enough to take it too.

Unless, of course, they too delicate in their nature to withstand it.

Beck, for example, just recently said that Barack Obama hates white people.

Absurd. Mr. Obama's mother was white, and he was mostly raised by his white maternal grandparents. A majority of the advisors he chose to surround himself with are white.

When people like Beck make stupid statements like that, they should expect to be thought of as clowns.

Regarding these right wing nut job talk radio hosts.
When you have a majority of the Senate and House of Representatives, but still can't pass legislation as a party - you are a wuss. When your party is held hostage by members just as bigoted as the opposing party - you are impotent. This is what President Obama is weighed down with as he tries to return our nation to prosperity and peace. We the people are not finished, there is still plenty of work to be done.
The arrest of a well respected Black man at a time when A well respected Black man resides in the White House, has brought America to a crossroads we must travel through. The direction we take will set the agenda for our nation as we struggle with issues that affect all of us. Partisan politics has caused a divide along ideological lines we can no longer afford to maintain. But as long as we are divided by the color line we will be vulnerable to other nations wanting to see us fail as a super power.

seenthelight said...

Radio Talk show Host's do not make policy!
Is this something that YOU don't get?
Let talk about where the REAL trouble lies.
This is the most polarizing president I have ever seen, this Barry guy. I have never felt such dividedness by politics in my life. I didn’t like George Bush but no one hated me for it. And while I didn’t like him, I didn’t discuss him all day everyday.

Clearly the majority of Americans voted for this Barry guy. I’m fine with that. We live in a great country and I refuse to concede that it can be destroyed by one arrogant idiot with no experience in the space of four years. So as far as I’m concerned America is just as great as she ever was and will always be. But I digress.

With the majority of Americans that voted for this Barry guy, a sleeping giant awoke. Yes, that’s right. I’m afraid it’s time for me to call them as I see them. While there are many intelligent voters with shared love for our great country, on the right and on the left, who showed up at their respective polls to cast there votes last November, there were also among them the dormant dummies nudged awake by the idea of a black president.

Of course they were nudged awake by more than just an idea. There was also ACORN, the black panthers, and other aspects of the Obama machine. God help us, some of them even took their obtuse ideas to the internet with blogs and websites.

During my perusal of blogs these last few months I have read posts by bloggers who are being harassed by the liberals on the blogs and in real life. I’ve come to understand that dumb people can be as simple-minded and dangerous as your common criminal. Their fragile minds are crackable and volatile all at once. You never know what part of a conversation will set them off.

Case in point. Look at the irrational hatred of Sarah Palin. I won’t ask any left thinkers to explain their irregular passion of hostility towards someone they’ve never met. But I will say this. Cussing a total stranger is a slim step away from striking them as far as I’m concerned. Before I got married, during my dating days, I would break ties immediately with any man that would cuss me or any other woman (even if it was his ex). Abuse is abuse no matter its form. And one form of abuse does typically lead to another.

So, yes. The monster that now looms is as dumb as a bag of rocks and their voices are raping my ears and their writings are scratching my retina. On a rare occasion one or two of them will leave a comment.

All of this unrest simply because of this Barry guy. Why is it so? you might ask. Is it connected to race, history or what? Aside from Barry being just a jerk, I do have some thoughts on why it is so. But for now what you’ve just read is enough to chew on.

That’s my truth and I’m sticking with it.

And it got me thinking about the long term impact of racism on our community and the half life of such a disease. Some of the comments also pissed me off.I’m just not in the mood today.) And the fact that even though reparations for the descendants of slaves has been a hotly debated topic for years now, no one seems to be willing to make reparations for the effects of racism itself. I’m not even talking about cash I’m thinking of steps being taken to heal the damaged thought processes that have become such a part of our society.
Obviously we can’t change what’s being taught at home. But, what about investing in teaching history properly with all the facts from K-12th grade instead of letting college be the place where people (those who take the right classes and pay attention in them) get a clue about race relations throughout history? Or spending less money on jails and weapons and more on targeted social programs and funding quality schools for all? Access to quality medical care and decent food couldn’t hurt, especially if we stop criminalizing poverty and start trying to eradicate it. There is so much that could be done to benefit everyone. Racism (and the other ‘isms) will destroy society if left unchecked so let’s vaccinate our children.
Black people have been the bane of my existence for the last 20 years. Why 20? Because that’s how long I’ve been a parent and as a result have been forced to have my life criss-crossed with black individuals not of my choosing. In addition, that’s how long I have had to be vulnerable by caring what these individuals think, because so many of them could affect the lives of my children, especially when I was a divorced, single mother.

Let me continue..Yes, the bane of my existence black people have been due most often to circumstances beyond my control. Not all of them, obviously. I love myself very much and prefer my company above anyone else on the planet. I am married to a wonderful black man. I admire a number of politicians, writers, some artists, and other successful people who happen to be black. I’m not going to lie. In real life I have no true black friends. The few good friends I can say I have are all white. My only black friend in real life is my BFF since 5th grade. And the more I seek knowledge, the more I seek to connect the dots historically and socially, the further apart she and I have continued to grow these past years. Before every post, I search my heart to determine what might be gained by sharing the information. In this instance, why share this knowledge with anyone outside my home? The answer is simple: I don’t keep secrets.
Black people are largely liberal democrats for reasons I could suggest, but it would make this post too long. The short version is as a group, black communities have sworn themselves to an unofficial pact fueled by anger and lies, and routinely reverberated by self-appointed leaders the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Blacks overwhelmingly believe that they are perpetual victims and white people owe them for the evolution of the world. During the sixties Democrats seized the opportunity to spin a tale towards blacks (the majority of which were unread and uneducated at the time) which suggested they were sympathetic to their plight. The rest is Obamanation history.

Blacks have made an unspoken pledge to lean on this vicitimization crutch despite its failure to bring forth any wealth or success (well maybe for Al and Jesse). Anyone who dissents is a sellout, uncle tom, etc.

Education and family are secondary priorities for the majority of blacks. If that assessment sounds harsh, too bad. It’s the truth. Here is where the content of this topic daily interferes with my life.

Those of us who continually pursue expansion of our knowledge are looked upon with a wary eye by other blacks. Too much intelligence forces you to think independently and that might lead to dissension from said group’s collective, short-sighted, ineffective beliefs.

Black men and black women, as a majority, do not hold the concept of family/love in high esteem. There is a basic feeling of distrust among the men and women. Therefore, the majority of black families are living with limited love. Too much love, especially towards children, can also lead to dissension from group beliefs.

Black people who are strangers do not like each other and do not trust each other. Neighbors and extended family members do not generally show up and stay with each other through a catastrophe. The next time you are outside watch the interaction between black strangers. You’ll see distrust and you might even see hostility.
THIS is what families like mine (and other blacks who may be political moderates and/or conservatives) are struggling against daily. White liberals think they’re doing us a favor by yelling “Amen, brother! Rage against the man! The larger majority of black people are consumed with a jealous anger towards everyone who appears more intelligent than them (respects education), more successful than them, more reverent in their love for their family, and reverent in their love for their country.
My children are ages 19 and 16.
After all these years not one of my children has even one loyal friend from a loving (two-parent) home. Not one. The young people that have traipsed through our lives are filled with hatred that they can not explain.
So you see, readers? This is what our country is made of. You should know what we are up against. Know what you are seeing when you see it. There is no solution if we can’t see the problem. But as we move through our daily lives making decisions to advance ourselves and our families, we should be better-informed.

Excuse me, but I could ask the same of those who hate Mr. Obama.

Darkrose,

I don't know what to make of your long screed. It appears to be made up of anecdotal examples from your personal life, but that does not make what you say true for the majority of the black experience in America.

You've made some huge generalizations and have made them based on your unhappy experiences in your particular life.

You've also repeated a lot of racist propaganda and you seem to be filled with anger and hostility.

You've made some assertions in your comment that neither I nor anyone else can confirm or deny.

Anyone can say anything on these blogs, and we have no way of knowing what is the truth or what is just made up.

I can't make that determination with what you've posted, but I can say that you sound like a very unhappy person who tends to blame other people for the unfortunates circumstances you have had to deal with.

Sarah Palin and her family have been through the ringer for what? Because she dared to run for Vice president?
So that’s a reason to attack her and her family as NO ONE was EVER attacked before?
And so what if she did do it for money? She is a private citizen and can do whatever she wants to do. As Bill Clinton does. Thanks to the negative press she's in deep debt and the way people treat her family is despicable.
Is that a reason to attack her? Why follow Obama with such BLIND eyes. I have NEVER read anywhere where YOU found ANYTHING that Obama did that you thought was wrong. So he’s Mr. Perfect? Bull Crap! As long as you can sit there at your computer and make fun out of every Republican it’s fine. YOU are so hypocritical it’s no longer funny. Democratic bloggers bad taste and personally attacked Palin’s child. Not a word was said about it. But just dare and say that Michelle has a BIG ASS and you go bunkers and delete, delete, delete. Making a big stink over Palin’s quitting doun’t cut it. But using photoshop to ridicule republican Talk show hosts whos only crime is saying things that YOU don’t like, is just peachy cream.
So just be warned, I for one am going to do the same every chance I get. And I’m going to portry Obama and his Michelle Fat ASS as monkey’s as clowns and whatever!
Thank you for you explanation on Sarah Plain’s quitting. (Like I care what you think).
There has been more nit picking over this family by despicable democrats who wouldn't know how to say a nice thing to a republican.
Joe Biden insisted that paying your taxes is a patriotic duty. No, scratch that. He said that supporting a tax hike was the American thing to do. "It's time to be patriotic," But the Pres. picks a TAX CHEAT to head the IRS. Am I dreaming?
Charles Rangel the chairman of the supreme tax-writing body in the United States, the House Ways and Means Committee, is under investigation for, among other things, dodging taxes. His excuse for his admitted mistakes is that he was sloppy and ignorant, but NOT criminal??? Geithner and Daschle make similar sloppy and ignorant (mistakes) and thats NOT criminal? It's almost too funny to be true.

The hatred in your party is palpable and now America is going to pay by becoming a Socialist country. So much for the Land of Opportunity. Soon to be the Land of Mediocrity. But you STILL target Sarah Palin... How pitiful.

Gordon,

There you go again--comparing apples with coconuts.

Can you name a prominent cable news personality who kept pounding away at the suspicions about 9/11 week after week to his millions of viewers? Or a radio gasbag who had an audience as large as Limbaugh's?

I don't remember anyone who had an audience like Limbaugh, Dobbs, Hannity, or Beck--people who DAILY reached millions and millions of listeners and viewers to spread their insane accusations that 9/11was instigated by our own government.

The 9/11 Truthers spread their nuttines mainly through the internet and, I believe, various symposia. Some national publications did report on them, because it was news. And some of the Truthers did appear on teevee to talk about their theories. I don't recall any cable or radio hosts that took up their cause and kept it alive to give it a veneer of legitimacy as has been done with the Birthers.

The clowns I've highlighted in this post have kept lies and suspicions alive through the power of their celebrity and their ability to persuade [by preying on their audiences' ignorance and fears], Americans to believe Mr. Obama's presidency is not legal.

Read the polls taken on this. A MAJORITY of Republicans have doubts about whether or not Mr. Obama is really an American citizen.

"While 93 percent of Democrats and 82 percent of independents said the president is a U.S. native, only 42 percent of Republicans did. Thirty percent of Republicans were unsure and 28 percent believe Obama is not native-born.

Only 47 percent of Southerners believe the president, compared with 93 percent in the Northeast, 90 percent in the Midwest and 87 percent in the West."

That says a lot about the people who listen to our National Idiots, doesn't it?

The 9/11 Truthers never enjoyed the numbers of "true believers" in the Democratic Party that the Birthers have managed to suck into their lunacy.

Sorry, Darkrose, but you're wrong on this. There is verifiable evidence that Secretary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton suffered the same slings and arrows of outrageous political hatred when they were in the White House and when Mrs. Clinton ran for president. Just last week, some teevee commentators said that had Secy. Clinton been at the "beer summit" she would have ordered a beer called "Mad Bitch."

How can he close a prison that has 250 members of terrorist organizations.
we need a prison system for low-life people called terrorists. We should also deprive them of religion, gyms, books, etc. These people once released will kill innocentt people and Americans are their number one target.

I guesss young Americans and liberals forgot what happened on 11 September 2001. This happened because we had a weak and indifferent government.

Oh, I forgot most Americans do not want to do true research that takes more than one hour. They like to criticize their own country and praise terrorists with out even doing their own homework..
If liberals want these terrorists released from Gitmo, let them put them in prisons in liberal states like Massachusetts. And see how that works for you.

Well, good try, Shaw. Part of the reason that the Truthers didn't have hosts with the audience of Hannity, Beck and Dobbs talking about it is that the progressives don't have hosts who pull a decent audience.

Even so, a greater percentage of Democrats bought into the loony Truther conspiracy hype. It's worth noting that the poll you quoted was commissioned by Daily Kos, a website that featured a lot of the Truther ranting. The poll I quoted was not a commissioned poll.

Perhaps you're just upset that Hannity and Beck are #2 and #3 in radio ratings, while the nearest lefty host is Ed Schultz, down around #14 or so.

Or perhaps you don't know that Beck's "Get off my phone!" bit is just that--a bit. It's a takeoff on retired New York radio host Bob Grant, for whom it was a signature line. Didn't ThinkProgress tell you that when they posted the audio? No? Gosh, maybe they aren't such a good source.

Gordon Scott said...

Better watch out, Darkrose. You go around poaching other folks' lines, like this, and like this, and next thing you know you're the president and vice-president of the United States. ;-)

Arthurstone said...

Darkrose is certainly a find. Just WTF do you suppose he/she/it is talking about?

On a second point I can't quite seem to find just which '61% of Democrats' believe someone other than Islamic fanatics attacked the US 9/11. Maybe it isn't true.

Which would come as no shock.

Good grief,Gordon. Everyone knows Rasmussen is a rightwing tool, and that their polling is often skewed to the right.

Upset? Moi? No. Just happy to be among the Americans who don't listen to bigoted nutcases like Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh.

Father Coughlin used to be quite popular with radio listeners, too.

You have to understand that most lefties are independent thinkers who don't need undereducated idiots to interpret current events and to tell them whom to hate.

Sarah Palin defeated herself when she couldn't coherently answer the questions Couric and Gibson asked her, and when either she or her handlers would not allow her to go on the Sunday talk shows where every vp candidate had had the courage and smarts to show up in all the previous years.

We've witnessed how her intellect works when she has to write her own speeches [see her announcement of her resignation, and her resignation speech], and it isn't pretty.

Sarah Palin couldn't handle the pressures that came with being a national candidate.

She should have studied Secretary Clinton more carefully to see how it's done.

And she's still a quitter.

Gordon Scott said...

Ah, Shaw,

Father Coughlin started as a progressive and then moved further to the left.

Didn't think so? That's because the left in this country have done their best to scrub their history. But if you go back and look, he was a great supporter of FDR, who then turned against him when FDR wouldn't take on more dictatorial powers.

Gordon Scott said...

And Arthurstone,

I used the same kind of math that Shaw used in her post. Go back to the link I posted, add the 35 percent of Democratic truthers who believe GWB knew about the attack in advance with the 26 percent who weren't sure.

What a shock, eh?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Gordon,

An asshole is still an asshole whether he or she is on the left or the right.

Coughlin was an asshole. And was a popular radio gasbag whom millions of Americans listened to and agreed with.

Well, that explains the traffic levels at ThinkProgress, Media Matters, Daily Kos and DU. It's all them highly educmacated independent thinkers.

Gordon,

We libruls understand that quite a few conservatives dislike people who value education, rationality, and living in a reality-based world.

Because of certain conservatives' innate distrust of pointy-headed, fact-based Americans, Limbaugh, Beck, and Hannity have become heroes to the radical base and admired for their ability to keep it wallowing in feelings of paranoia and victimization.

The whole idea promoted by the Palins of the conservative base-- that certain parts of America, the regions where THEY are the majority are the REAL America--is the single most elite and self-reverential bait of falsehood I've ever had the misfortune to listen to.

ALL Americans are REAL Americans.

Even Barack Hussein Obama.

And right now he's the only president you've got.

PS. I still owe you. I know.

A bunch of gas guzzling piece of crap cars are off the road. Banks got loan business they wouldn't have gotten. Republicans are selling the bogus notion that this president is somehow illegitimate. You don't have to know very much about American history to recognize that such nonsense, when spread to the unstable, can result in tragedy and violence. I can't help but think that the decline of the mainstream media is a big part of this story. Americans have bought trash mortgages and trash food. Now they are choosing trash information -- brought to them not on-line but also via cable TV -- over reliable, edited news. You are what you eat, and too many Americans, by consuming nonsense, have become nonsensical.

The J Mopper said...

Well put Joe...

I might add that not enough critical thinking is exercised upon hearing wild accusations from the fringe or even mainstream media. There are many outlets that debunk said "theories" but far too many people ignore them, whether unintentional or by choice.

People have a tendency to grasp on to whatever data supports their belief while choosing to ignore views/data from the other side.

Joe Matthews, your comment is very much appreciated.

Earlier today, I saw this this report:

Since Mr Obama took office, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400 per cent (…) including an alleged plot by white supremacists in Tennessee late last year to rob a gun store, shoot 88 black people, decapitate another 14 and then assassinate the first black president in American history.”

Even more disturbing, the Secret Service has directed agents to work longer hours to cover the extra workload and miss training exercises and tests.

Thus, we should be alarmed by the likes of Beck, Dobbs, and Hannity who inspire these whack jobs and may be inciting them to act. More than censored, they should be fired!

Lets see we had Whitewater...

Which went on for years and created nothing but stupidity.

Then we had the Swift Boat Veterans...

Which bascially slandered a decorated war veteran for the benefit of a silver spooned flyboy who never left Texas.

Now we have the birthers...

All this crap starts off in shadows and shadowy funding which no one questions...

Over and over again we see the same tactics being used to discredit and cast doubt in the most absurd way BUT IT WORKS.

Its not a coincidence but rather an orchestrated plan...

Obviously if you have a black president you cannot criticize him for being black but you CAN claim that he is not AMERICAN.

This would not have worked in the election because McCain was born in Panama and to bring it up then would have drawn attention to that fact. Even though both are legitimate American citizens by the fact that both were born to American mothers.

Its all they have right now but like the Swift Boat Veterans it will work unless we figure out a way to stop it...

Don't fool yourselves this is no grass roots movement and it is not stupid or without purpose.

John Kerry was awarded a chest full of medals by the Department of Defense of the United States of America and all Bush got as an award is a hangover and yet America saw Bush as the hero and Kerry as the traitor.

If you say something enough times it eventually has its desired effect even if it is not true.

I imagine Dobbs jumped on this one because he saw what happened to Dan Rather when he got on the wrong side of the Swift Boat Veterans issue....

Hey Truth Dude, what the hell does Whitewater (which was without a doubt true) or the Swift boaters have to do with this? And why shouldn't Hannity, Beck, or Dobbs put the pressure on the (Prez)? Isn't the Law of the Land good enough for HIM to obey? Why can't Obama just show his birth certificate and put the issue to rest? Obama knows that millions of citizens want to see it yet he continues to hide it. What/why is he hiding?
If I remember correctly, John McCain, third generation naval officer, was required to send representatives to court to establish his ‘natural born’ bona fides due to his actual live birth in the Panama canal zone while his father was serving in the U.S. Navy. In the presidential contest McCain chose not to pursue this issue and there may be actual evidence of Owebamas birth that proves his case. None of these circumstances, though, explains the reason for Owebama to resist displaying such evidence to the American people. The case can be referred to as a right wing nut smear, but unless and until an actual birth certificate is produced, this can only be assumed to be dissimulation or another from of deception.

If you want a social security check, you will show the long form of your birth certificate. A certificate of live birth is not good enough, but according to you it's good enough proof to be the commander in chief of our armed forces.
The Constitution of the United States of America requires that only those born in the United States of America can become President of the United States of America. So what's the big problem with showing the American public the birth certificate? Why not? Is the law beneath HIM? Or is he waiting for Kenya to receive Statehood! Why do we have to take HIS word?
And why should YOU and your ilk suggest that they go after Lou Dobbs for his campaign to see the certificate? What crime did Lou Dobbs commit?
Your post make you sound like a idiot!
This and your posts about republicans and the others about Blupittbull show your incredible ignorance of what has taken place in this country during the last 7 months.
And the way that you the way rabid ‘libtards’ attack Sarah Palin anyone would think SHE was the one that was paying Lawyers hundreds of thousands of dollars to hide her original Birth Certificate.

Mr. Obama has made his birth certificate available.

You need to find another bone to chew on.

No sane person believes this "Birther" insanity.

The State of Hawaii has verified that Mr. Obama was born there.

That you and other Birthers won't accept this fact is an indictment on your mental stability--not an indictment on the president and his citizenship.

You seriously need to understand this.

I like to just call a spade a spade. Obamas' agenda is socialism...... 1. Take from those that earn a living (aka "the rich") and give to those that can not/will not earn a living (aka "the poor".) 2. Take the control away from the people to put it into the hands of politicians. Supporters can try to sugar coat Obama and create some cool words to mask socialism, but fact is Obama is attempting to turn our country into a socialist state. A prime example is healthcare!

35% of Democrats polled by Rasmussen believed GWB knew in advance of the attacks of 9/11

26% of Democrats were not sure on the same question.

You can't add the 'believed' and 'the not sure' and get a 61% percent 'truthers'.

Well, obviously one can. But just as obviously it is incorrect.

The expression to call a spade a spade was very well established long before the word spade had any racial sense.
