This Is What Romney and FAUX NOOZ Label a "Poorly Attended" Obama Event

Because it was so overwhelmingly a success and because it is obvious that thousands and thousands of enthusiastic people attended President Obama's rally in Ohio, the Romney camp and FAUX NOOZ had to bamboozle the media with lies about the event.  Romeny's team called it "poorly attended," as did, surprise! FAUX NOOZ.  And the unctuous George Will chimed in with his own brand of supercilious poppycock.

Whom are you going to believe?  Them or your lying eyes?

You want to see "poorly attended?" This is what that looks like.  This is a Romney rally at Ford Field in Detroit with 80,000 empty seats:

Romney and FAUX NOOZ will continue to try to tell you that up is down, black is white, and that we've always been at war with Eastasia--a perfect example of their blatant manipulation of facts for the purpose of deceiving the low-information crowd.

No fear, though, only the Stupids will fall for their obviously desperate lies.

When you're giving away free stuff it's easy to attract a crowd.

Silver, I'm wondering, is that just more supercillious poppycock? ;)

SF, you've got a snark for every remark.

A wise old man once told me that when someone can't dispute the facts, he diverts attention with a joke.

RN, yes, what FAUX NOOZ and Romney's people lied about in their best junior-high school reporting on this event is poppycock; but I would never label it supercilious, since that word implies haughty superiority, and the people responsible for spreading this easily dismissed misinformation should never be associated with the word "superiority."

"...it’s a telling sign of the GOP strategy: Argue that Obama’s magic is gone, that his glory days are over. He’s just another politician now. Cut him down to size: That’s how the GOP plans on competing against an incumbent who is a lot more likable than their guy." --from Washington Monthly

Or tell everyone that the US was massively hypnotized in 2008, but will come to its senses once Romney's cynical flip-flopping and pandering for votes has massively hypnotized the GOP.

[But wait -- it's massive hypnosis of dopey America only when Democrats win big in elections. What was I thinking!]

He had "glory days"?

I guess those dirty Obama haters at The New York Times are lying as well...

The atmosphere at both rallies was buoyant and the crowds were sizable, though in Columbus the turnout did not fill the Schottenstein Center’s 18,300 seats.

At times, the rallies had the feeling of a concert by an aging rock star: a few supporters were wearing faded “Hope” and Obama 2008 T-shirts, and cheers went up when the president told people to tell their friends that this campaign was “still about hope” and “still about change.”

Now that Obama must stand on his accomplishments instead of his hype, he is on the attack mode. It is not about what he has accomplished, nothing, but attack his opponent for everything. BabaBiden went on the talk shows saying how Romney sent jobs overseas when he was with Bain, how is that different with the administration giving millions to green energy companies, who are Obama contributors, to start jobs offshore before they filed bankruptcy.

Obama has no clue what he is doing so he attacks and comes up with a new slogan, Forward, and what follow him off the cliff.

Guess Hope and Change just didn't quite work out.

Les Carpenter said...

Well skidrunner, there is always hope that it eventually will. We merely must have enough hope.

Of course the GWB thingy didn't pan out so well either. So, IMO it is time for something different. Some real change driven by the notion that hope is just a nice feel good concept.

But what do I know? I'm not a progressive. ;)

SF reporting what was in the NYTimes: "The atmosphere at both rallies was buoyant and the crowds were sizable, though in Columbus the turnout did not fill the Schottenstein Center’s 18,300 seats."

IOW, nothing like the meager, unenthusiatic crowds attending the Romney "rally."

Again, SF, who are you going to believe, them or your lying eyes? The video is a visual contradiction to what you're trying to push. And when did you start believing anything from the NYTimes? Only when it suits you? I think yes.

RN, yes, Obama's "glory days" is called being elected President of the United States of America. Thanks for asking, happy to oblige.

skudrunner: "Now that Obama must stand on his accomplishments instead of his hype, he is on the attack mode."

IOW, he's acting like a Republican? Or a savvy politician. Every man or woman who has ever run for the highest office in the land has done this. But like a typical whiner, it's bad business only when a Democrat does it. Yawn.

skudrunner: It is not about what he has accomplished, nothing..."

Listen, skudrunner, I'm not a FAUX NOOZ viewer, so I can actually understand that sort of stupid remark doesn't square with the facts. That you keep repeating this lie is evidence that you have a total lack of objectivity. For example, Mr. Obama managed to get Mitt Romeny's health care plan adopted as the law of the land. So in a way, the GOP AND Mr. Obama have accomplished a lot!

skudrunner: "Obama has no clue what he is doing so he attacks and comes up with a new slogan, Forward, and what follow him off the cliff."

If you have something of substance to say, say it. Otherwise this is nothing more than warmed over GOP vomit, and totally untrue. No clue what he's doing? He's obviously scaring the crap out of you. LOL!

Lisa, you're not welcome here.

I may not agree with SF or RN, but they have the decency to not allow personal attacks on me at their blogs. You have had no such decency when this happened on your blog, and so I do not wish to interact with someone like you.

Please do not return.

skudrunner said...

Shaw,

We agree on something, I don't watch Fox News either.

I admit I was not correct in saying Obama hasn't accomplished anything. He did get the healthcare bill passed so it could be thrown out by the Supremes. I guess you are for increasing healthcare costs for 85% so the 7% who didn't have coverage and wanted it could get it.

BHO should change his slogan to Back to the Future because he is back to campaigning against GWB. When is he going to admit he won, now his failures are his.

And you are right, he does scare the crap out of me. I never thought someone with no experience would win last time so anything can happen. Like Joe Biden said, being president is not a a position for On the job training.

Shaw Kenawe said...

skudrunner,

You see the glass as half empty; I see it as half full.

Mr. Obama is not blaming Bush; the American people still blame Bush for the disasterous economic mess we're in. Mr. Obama is doing what any savvy politician would do--repeat what the American people have judged to be the source of out economic troubles.

From CNN News, March 2012:

"Although Obama has been president for more than three years, 56% of Americans continue to blame former President George W. Bush and the Republicans for the country's current economic problems, with only 29% blaming Obama and the Democrats."

That's almost 2 - 1, and pretty damning. Don't underestimate Mr. Obama's political skills. The Clintons did. Remember?

By the time the elections roll around in November, Mr. Obama will have been president for almost 4 years, plus his years as an Illinois state senator and a US Senator. A CV more impressive than what Romney brings to the table.

“Romney is the least experienced major-party presidential nominee since Republican Wendell Wilkie lost to FDR in 1940. If Romney wins, he’ll be the least experienced president since Woodrow Wilson, who won exactly 100 years ago, despite only having been governor of New Jersey for two years before his national campaign.”

And don't forget, Romney's running on his fantasy of knowing how to create jobs. When he was governor of Massachusetts, we ranked 47th in job creation.

As the Washington Post reported, Romney's job creation was "unremarkable."

I would pay attention to that fact and not Romney's fantasies.

Shaw I Didn't attack you I was comparing Obama playing to an audience of kids to Sesame Street. You feel that was an attack on you? I forgot you think that an attack on the president is an attack on you, sorry.

Lisa, part of your problem is not having the ability to understand.

I have been on your blog and seen your commenters personally attack me, not my ideas, even when I've not commented there. You've allowed ad hominem attacks on me by Darth Bacon and others like him.

THAT'S what I'm referring to, not what your wrote here.

If you haven't the decency to tell your visitors that attacking a person is off-limits, then I don't want to interact with you.

I repeat: Silverfiddle and Rational Nation do not agree with me on a number of issues, but they draw the line at people on their blogs who would attack me and insult me as a woman.

It's just common decency, and I extend it to them as well.

I have feelings like anyone else, and I don't like it when I am unfairly attacked. I have copies of what your visitors have said about me. Do you want me to post them here? Since you seem not to be aware of what goes on on your own blog.

You'd rather make political points by allowing your blog friends to degrade me, and I'm not interested in your need to do that.

It's really depressing to see someone of your own sex allow that sort of degradation.

Lisa said...

well why didn't you say so. I saw that but I usually just ignore those comments. I've seen you stand up to those comments.
Ad for the record I have seen alot of degradation against Conservative women by the media and not just one or 2 on a blog but a constant onslaught.
I used to get attacked on Sue's blog all the time for a non attacking comment. The only one who ever defended me there was Leslie.

Talking about Chaw, a mind is a terrible thing to lose.

Lisa's blog is a seething den of trolls who have attacked even Dave Miller, one of the most fair-minded commenters on the 'net.

Lisa encourages the sort of swill those trolls write about other people, and does nothing about it.

Then she pretends she doesn't understand why I don't want to associate with her.

Lisa, I have been accused of being a very blunt person, that's because I am when I feel the need to be.

1) Yes, some liberals dehumanize conservative women, just as some conservatives dehumanize liberal women. I'd venture to guess this is common on the more virulent partisan blogs. It even occurs occasionally on the more moderate leftie and righty blogs.

2) Two wrongs does not a right make.

So, the choice is yours, jut as it is for each of us.

Disagree vehemently but defend the right of others to do the same. It helps if you're not carrying water for either side but rather carrying water for the principles enunciated in our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of these United States.

I more often than not disagree with Shaw's style of progressivism... being a classical liberal. But I respect her intelligence and integrity even while disagreeing. And will not allow a conservative commenter to disrespect her or attack her personally. Such should be the standard all bloggers strive to meet, knowing it is not always easy and occasionally we may fall short. It should be the standard nonetheless.

is a comedienne something like Bill Maher only intelligent humor not angry humor. That comment from him/her was not a personal attack on you. I guess I just have a thicker skin than liberals. We have to being we have to be on the defense more.
Anyway back to those "kids" at the Obama rally. That was nothing more than a class trip. They are the only ones who can fill a place for Obama. He needs the publicity with background of adoring fans which we all know are an organized group of college kids rounded up by liberal professors to cheer and swoon over Obama and his greatness and to try and prove how much he is still loved. You know like the choreographed campaign he ran in 2008,only I am not sure how well it will work this time. The jig is up.

"Talking about Chaw, a mind is a terrible thing to lose."

It was the commenter "Darth Bacon," whom you thank for his rot that he deposits on your blog!

You, Lisa, have absolutely NO reading skills--it's not your "thick skin" that's the problem.

No intelligent person would continue to go to your blog where commenters like Darth Bacon do nothing more than behave like demented jackals.

Here's my take on your opinions about Mr. Obama's rallies: You base them on nothing more than your poisonous hatred and muddled thinking about the president.

You've linked to absolutely no proof or evidence to back up that opinion that those rallies are populated by liberal professors--as though college professors have nothing better to do than round up students for a political rally.

Your problem, like most conservatives who think like you, is that you cannot allow the thought to enter your head that thousands of people freely choose to attend and support the president, and when we see living proof of it, you have to make up lies to dispell the evidence.

You have a really, really large problem with reality, not I.

Lisa said...

Of course they attend for the free concerts to fill arenas. Like the one in Germany only there they got free beer and hot dogs for that photo op they splashed all over like they were all there for him. See give out the freebies and the possibilities are endless.
I mean really if you could see Bon Jovi for free and in return just had to listen to Romney speak for 15 minutes, I think even you might splurge for that.

Lisa said...

and why do people need to go listen to Obama bash Repubkicans and the rich when they can just turn on MSNBC?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Lisa, your whining is not attractive.

Again, you're making stuff up because it burns your tush that thousands and thousand and thousands of people love this president.

LOL!
