They're At It Again

UPDATE BELOW

"We have to stop being the Stupid Party." --Republican Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana

Really?

I wonder when will that happen?

GOP congressman: Impeaching Obama would be a ‘dream come true’

Impeach President Obama and Remove Him from Office

GOP Sen. Coburn: Obama Getting ‘Perilously Close’ To Impeachable Offenses

First, these particular GOPers never say what the impeachable offenses are. (Hint:  there aren't any.)

Second, do they really believe that the Democrats in the Senate would vote to impeach President Obama?

Third, see the first and second.

And finally, the Republican led do-nothing House of Representatives has the lowest approval rating in this country's history, imagine where it will be if it brings forward a bill of impeachment based on--what?

The Stupids again are blowing fetid smoke out of their, um, ears.

President Obama was elected TWICE by the American people.

President Obama has committed no impeachable offenses, except only if the TeaPublicans believe his offense is being President while black.

It is all so very, very "tarsome."

UPDATE:

h/t L.Parsley:

"Two interesting new items from yesterday:

(1)The Department of Justice has filed a Grant of Immunity for war crimes against George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Paul Wolfowitz, and Donald Rumsfeld. The filing for the immunity of war crimes was made with the United States District Court, Northern District of California San Francisco Division.

 (2) Republican members of Congress propose impeachment of President Obama."

Do we need further examples of their perfidy?

Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.) said Monday that he consulted lawyers about potentially impeaching President Obama, but that he ultimately decided there wasn’t enough evidence.

Unbelievable. Just yesterday I was at a conservative site that has proof the IRS expedited Obama's brother's tax exempt status because he's a major fund raiser for the Muslim Brotherhood.
What will it take to impeach this Kenyan born, Muslim, communist?

Take a count and I believe you will see who is clueless.
We have a president who has severe credibility issues with Fast and Furious, IRS, NSI, Bengazi, Backing the wrong side in Egypt, year old line in the sand with Syria, zero transparency, no plan for job creation which is working well, obamacare which is imploding, his sequester that he just ignores and a proven communicator of falsehoods.
His answer and yours is sue Texas and blame Bush.

If you recall, Bush didn't cause Katrina nature did. The people of NO were warned days in advance to leave, the democrat Governor declined federal aid as did the democrat mayor.
Yep, all Bush's fault just like the housing crisis caused by a democratic controlled congress.

Those types used to see Commies under their beds every day, now it's Mooooslems that scare the bejeebus out of them. They believe every insane report out there, as long as it's a report by a genuine nutcase. They support the Stupid Party, don't they.

skudrunner, your boiler-plate TeaPublican talking points are boring.

There is no Fast and Furious, IRS, or Benghazi "scandal," much to the low-information crowd's dismay.

President Obama proposed a jobs bill, against which the GOP overwhelmingly voted.

When you have something other than FOX News talking points to contribute, come visit us again.

Just to clarify; the following is a list of 15 offenses the republican party has viewed as impeachable offenses.

Of course I make no claim as to their veracity or lack thereof.

Here’s a brief history of threats to impeach President Obama that have gone nowhere, in no particular order:

Fast and furious: Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner threatened to impeach administration officials and possibly the president over the botched gun-running investigation, telling Attorney General Eric Holder: “If we don’t get to the bottom of this — and that requires your assistance on that — there is only one alternative that Congress has, and it is called impeachment.”

Boston bombing: A Washington Times columnist called for impeaching Obama after the Boston Marathon bombing because he fails to realize that “we are in a clash of civilizations between radical Islam and the West.”

Joe Sestak: Dick Morris, America’s best columnist, and Sean Hannity, America’s best TV host, agreed that it was a “de facto bribe” and “an impeachable offense” when the White House allegedly pushed former Pennsylvania senatorial candidate Joe Sestak out of a Democratic primary.

Guns: A whole slew of Republican lawmakers have floated impeaching Obama over post–Sandy Hook gun laws, and Rep. Steve Stockman even planned to introduce articles of impeachment in the House. Unfortunately, due to their efforts, Obama’s watered-down gun safety bill died in the Senate.

Debt: South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott, then in the House, said that if Obama invoked the 14th Amendment to circumvent the debt ceiling, it would be an “impeachable act.” Rep. Steve King promised “Obama would be impeached” if the government defaulted.

Balanced budget: Rep. Mo Brooks in January proposed a constitutional amendment that would make failing to balance the nation’s budget an impeachable offense.

Immigration: Former Sen. Jon Kyl, then the No. 2 Republican senator, responded to Obama’s deferred action immigration policy by telling radio host Bill Bennett that “impeachment is always a possibility,” especially if there are “shenanigans involved.” Rush Limbaugh joined the fun, as did the restrictionist group AILPAC, which has a petition up on its website to impeach the president.

DOMA: Newt Gingrich (who has some experience with impeachment) suggested impeaching the president over his decision to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act in court whileHerman Cain called it near-treason. Social conservative stalwart Rep. Trent Franks hinted at impeachment, too.

Bush tax cuts: Anti-tax activist Grover Norquist said if Obama failed to extend the Bush tax cuts, “Republicans will have enough votes in the Senate in 2014 to impeach.”

Island giveaway conspiracy: A Texas congressional candidate wanted to impeach Obama in 2012 for supposedly giving away a string of islands to Russia.

Recess appointments: Fox News’ Neil Cavuto wondered if Obama could be impeached for making recess appointments. Sadly, a Fox legal analyst said no.

Libya: Bruce Fein, a lawyer who has written articles of impeachments against Clinton, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, did the same for Obama in 2011 over the military intervention in Libya, alleging that it violated the Constitution’s mandate that only Congress can declare war.

Birth certificate: A former GOP congressman who ran for office again in 2010 suggested the idea of moving to impeach Obama in order to pressure him to release his birth certificate.

Just existing: When a man told Rep. Michele Bachmann that President Obama should be impeached just because, Bachmann replied, “Well, I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you, I agree, I agree.” Texas Republican Michael Burgess told a Tea Party group in 2011 that he would push to impeach Obama for just generally being liberal. When a reporter asked him later what the charges would be, Burgess said he wasn’t sure, but said “it needs to happen” so Republicans can tie up Obama’s legislative agenda.

Continuation of prior posted comment:

Yep, the list about says it all.

There is a reason this black, Muslim/Christian, Kenyon/American, communist President of these United States of America has staying power.

It very well could be because there ain't nothing to the trumped up (yeah, I'm talking about The Donald) hyperbolic BS the republicans have been slinging these past 5 years.

Yeah, I don't like his policies and views on many things. But come on!

Oh, and by the way, GWB committed no impeachable offenses or war crimes either. Anymore than has Obama.

Wicked,

What jobs bill did obama propose and what republican jobs bill will slimy not allow to go to the floor?

The co-chairman of the Polk County, Iowa GOP has resigned because he doesn't want to be associated with Rep. Steve King's racist remarks and he's tired of all the anti-climate change idiocy and stupid remarks about guns. He said that the party is being led by the NRA and the Christian Right, and it isn't interested in reforming itself. He figured that if he stuck around, he'd just be enabling the GOP to continue on without making needed changes. So, he reregistered as an independent.

oh who cares, LOL Anon. Let them write their bitter nonsense. Between doing that and sticking forks in their eyes, it keeps them busy and from doing anything that matters.

Anon@8:35, has some sanity seeped into some of the cons?

RN,
You went through a lengthy, time consuming rant about points we are not to listen to? Why give them the exposure if you don't want them out there for all to read? We certainly do not need a review of the nut jobs positions. I can only surmise your long comment was to reinforce ( continually repeating lies) what you find truth in

Les Carpenter said...

Anon, I posted a list from a liberal site actually to give some meat to the "Wicked" one's opening remarks. You know what they say about assume? Or it's close approximation surmise don't you? I hope so because you just proved it correct.

For the slow of wit what I find truth in, at least in this post, is precisely what "Wicked" pointed out.

Get it yet? Or do I have to draw a finger paint picture for you?

Dave Miller said...

Skud, what you failed to notice was that the post was not about causes, or blame for the response to Hurricane Katrina...

It was about how many Republicans place the blame on a man who was, at the time, a Jr. Senator from Illinois. Doesn't that say something about their intelligence?

On a somewhat related note, Democratic Mayor Bob FIlner of San Diego is resigning after charges of sexual harassment. He was urged to do so by many Democratic Party leaders, including the head of the DNC, as the charges spilled out.

Can you cite any examples of GOP politicians and leaders calling for resignations from their ranks when lower level pols say stupid things or act in against the grain ways, ala Senator Vitter of LA?

I doubt you'll find many, and certainly few, if any that are nationally known, because the GOP leadership does not disagree with the "fringes" of their party.

Maybe because the people in LA who blame Obama for the response to Katrina, along with the myriad of wackos populating the GOP are in fact the mainstream now, and not the fringe...

Sadly, it appears to be true.

We can only surmise their strategy, but the most recent Gallup Poll shows that the GOP congress has managed to reduce its
approval rating from 67% in 2001 to
a record low 12% in 2013.

Yes, BB-Idaho, the GOP Congress is less popular than herpes! And genital sores! LOL!
