IOWA RESULTS: The Trumper Loses to Cruz, Hillary Squeaks by Bernie

UPDATE BELOW

Donald Trump Comes Out Of Iowa Looking Like Pat Buchanan

The Trumper loses to Cruz. So now we can call the Trumper "A Loser" just like he calls everyone who ever lost anything. Heh.

"The real estate mogul no doubt had to swallow his pride considerably in this speech, since he regularly talks about winning in all aspects of life.

"Iowa, we love you. We thank you. You're special. We will be back many, many times. In fact, I think I might come here and buy a farm. I love it!"

Trump said to loud cheers from the crowd. Trump had previously joked to the people of Iowa that if he didn't win, "I will never speak to you people again, that I will tell you."  --HuffPost

That's just Donald playing his favorite sport: Contradicting himself.

Hillary squeaks by Bernie with a very, very narrow win.

For more results, go here.

I really don't want to talk about these popularity contests anymore.

"Iowa...is neither particularly large nor very representative of the rest of the country."

UPDATE:

RN USA is correct. Ted Cruz is more dangerous to this country than blubber lips Trump:

Cruz is saying God deserves all the credit for Cruz's win because this notable achievement was God's work? God works for Cruz!

Really?

And speaking of glory, is the T-GOP going to trade a vainglorious narcissist for an Elmer Gantry?

Are the pornographers and yahoos on suicide watch?

The guy they said would be a winnah is not looking like a winnah today!

Where were his adoring crowds? Where's his Trumpmento now?

Cruz, the dude to watch. If he does well in NH and So. Carolina he is likely to run the table. A Cruz/Rubio ticket reminiscent of Reagan/Bush?

Sanders now has greater name recognition and he is raking in money. With Clinton's e-mail a that won't go away Bernie could be the democrats 2016 George McGovern.

Our seven year old grandson has announced his support for and prediction.... Bernie Sanders.

Cruz/Rubio -vs-- Sanders/O'Malley general election face off. You heard it hear first folks.

Peanuts, Popcorn, Crackerjacks!

Hopefully Trumpster has had his best primary. Unfortunately Criz is not much better.
I am all in for Bernie because he has a plan I can support. I am tired of paying for anything and he says I won't have to, someone else will.
Hard to support -H- because the WH should not be renamed Holiday Inn with rooms for rent.

Rubio would be a good choice and I don't think the dems can destroy him as easily with their sleazy ads and lies like they can with Cruz.

No matter who wins we can all be assured of one thing.
No politician will ever go against their own self interest.

Octopus/Snook in 2016. We're fishy and slimy -- perfect credentials for a politician these days.

RN... there was no fire in O'Malley... I agree he's the safe choice, but man, he's qualified and sadly, a crummy campaigner...

If it's Sanders, there's gotta be someone else.

And I can't see an all Cuban ticket. That will guarantee little Latino support for the GOP.

What a lot of people don't realize is the hate Latin America has for Cubans because of their special immigration status. They are literally hated here in Mexico.

Typical Trump and typical T-GOPer (like the one in the post below who blames Donald Trump on Obama) Trump blames Iowans for his loss. They didn't give him credit? I don't think that's why he lost to Cruz and almost lost to Rubio. More like Donald felt he could rest on his very large arse and come out the winner just by bragging about how great he is. Good for the people of Iowa for telling Trump that he's not all that!

Here's more, Shaw from TPM:

Trump initially seemed to take a more humble tack in response to his loss, saying he had a "great" experience in Iowa and was "honored" to be the runner-up to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). But in a mini-tweet storm on Tuesday morning, he blamed the media for "unfairly" covering his second-place finish and accused voters of being unimpressed with his campaign financing structure.

What a cry-baby sore loser.

Legs, You have my vote

David, last I heard Mexican citizens don't vote, legally so what the Mexicans think is of little consequence. Campaigning in Spanish will garner more support that speaking in lies. I do believe Rubio can beat -H- and will get a lot of her thinking minority vote.

Carson: Cruz 'Dirty Tricks' Ruined My Chances In Iowa!

Carson believes he would have won if Tailgunner Ted didn't spoil his chances?

Blame the other guy Carson and Trump. What wusses.

How many Iowa caucus winners have gone on to be the nominee? I guess I could look it up, but right now I am on lazy.

as they say....."Iowa picks corn, New Hampshire picks Presidents".....

Anon, have you forgotten that in 2000 John McCain won the New Hampshire primary?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Jerry, here's your answer:

"What do Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan have in common?

These former presidents all lost in the Iowa caucuses, but won their party's nomination and, of course, the subsequent general elections.

What about Mike Huckabee, Dick Gephardt and Tom Harkin? They came in first in Iowa but failed to become their party's standard-bearer."

MORE HERE.

Shaw, that "Anonymous" at 3:02 is Rusty Shackleford (too cowardly to use his real name). He posted the same comment @Smut Hut. You set him straight with facts. Something him and his yahoos are allergic to.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... what the heck are you talking about... you didn't even try and deal directly with what I posted, which is par for the course from you...

Either you chose to be obtuse, or you know very little about the issues that animate the Latin American community.

And yes, many Americans of Mexican descent do vote and are registering in record numbers. You think they are joining the party that calls them rapists, murderers and criminals.

Doubtful...

So, Ted Cruz is using the tag line "TrusTED" in his campaign... I think HaTED and BigoTED are much better descriptors.

David,

Your words not mine "They are literally hated here in Mexico."

I guess a crook is better than a Cuban or vote for -H-. I do believe you are referring to one candidate and his disdain for everyone not the majority of the GOP.

If Cruz is the GOP nominee, he will go the way of McCain and Romney.

Les Carpenter said...

@ Dave... RN... there was no fire in O'Malley... I agree he's the safe choice, but man, he's qualified and sadly, a crummy campaigner...

Agreed, He didn't have the fire in his belly and that accounts for a lot. Name recognition wasn't in his favor either I think.

O'Malley is smart, articulate and as you said qualified. Americans on either side of the aisle are lazy and hyperbole and empty assurances sell well I guess.

And I can't see an all Cuban ticket. That will guarantee little Latino support for the GOP.

What a lot of people don't realize is the hate Latin America has for Cubans because of their special immigration status. They are literally hated here in Mexico.

That is unfortunate as hate consumes and destroys ones ability to analyze rationally.

Not that I am advocating for either Cruz or Rubio. they're both dangerous in my opinion.

"To God belongs the glory" is Republican for "Allahu akbar" -- I am so stealing that. Can't believe I didn't think of it.

Infidel753 said...

A lot of Republicans seem to have a conviction that minority candidates, without any serious change in the party's character or platform, will bring them large numbers of minority votes. That's self-evidently absurd. Even if Rubio and Cruz were of Mexican origin rather than Cuban, they wouldn't win a lot of Latino voters if the party remained as it is. Blacks and Latino's aren't stupid. They're not going to be fooled by seeing a black or Latino face put on the same old crap that's so inimical to their interests.
