FAKE AND DISGUSTING TRUMP
PEE-OTUS,Trump, gave a chaotic, crude, boorish, vindictive press conference on Wednesday. He called out CNN and others for "fake" news, calling allegations on the dossier published by Buzzfeed "disgusting."
Please, America, do not forget that the man who made those accusations during that chaotic and embarrassing presser was the same man who, for five long shameful years spread FAKE rumors and FAKE news about President Obama's birth certificate.
Remember when he told America and the world that his people were finding "amazing things" about President Obama's birth certificate and then absolutely nothing came from it?
Donald Trump is the champion of FAKE.
FAKE: Trump University: Donald Trump had to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit against him for his FAKE TRUMP UNIVERSITY.
Donald Trump told the American people he would release his taxes after he became president: FAKE!
Donald Trump is the champion of everything that is FAKE.
DISGUSTING, said the man who told a radio shock jock that it was okay to call his young daughter "a piece of ass."
Trump needed to bring his own cheering section to a press conference to give the appearance of enthusiastic support. FAKE CHEERING:
The president-elect packs his news conference with paid aides ready to jeer reporters.
Trump press event a theatre of the absurd
From HuffPost:
NEW YORK -- Donald Trump was met with a rousing round of applause when he exited the elevators Wednesday at Trump Tower for his first press conference in 167 days. But that enthusiastic greeting came from supporters and members of his own staff, not the estimated hundreds of reporters who gathered to ask him questions.
Trump's family waited in the wings of the stage to his right, while senior advisers including Steve Bannon, Kellyanne Conway, Sean Spicer and Steve Mnuchin stood to the left, out of view of the cameras. A small, vocal group clustered near Trump's family by the elevators acted as cheerleaders for the President-elect for the duration of the hour-long event, laughing heartily at his jokes and responding aloud to his rhetorical questions.
When Trump asked if Russian president Vladimir Putin would have found Hillary Clinton to be a greater adversary, a few of his staffers called out "no!" His mention of his longtime secretary, Rhona Graff, while he recalled how he set up his own test to smoke out any leakers on his staff after a meeting with U.S. intelligence officials was also met with a knowing chuckle.

This chorus of affirmation made a jarring contrast to the adversarial tone of the press conference itself. Trump refused to take questions from a reporter from CNN, which he branded "fake news," and from BuzzFeed, which he called a "failing pile of garbage."

"I watched Trump’s presser yesterday morning with the sound turned off because Kellyanne Conway told me to focus not on his words but what's in his heart. And guess what? Even on mute he’s still an asshole."
USAToday:
In his first press conference since July, President-elect Donald Trump repeated some false and misleading claims on jobs, health care and his tax returns:
• Trump falsely claimed that there are “96 million really wanting a job and they can’t get [one].” There are roughly 96 million people not in the labor force, but that includes retirees, students and others who don’t want jobs. Only 5.5 million of them want work.
• Trump said that “you learn very little” from a tax return. But experts told us there’s plenty of information to be gleaned from tax returns — such as potential conflicts of interest, charitable giving habits and effective tax rates.
• Trump claimed that “some states” have seen health insurance coverage on the Affordable Care Act exchanges increase by 100%. Only Arizona has an average increase that high, and 84% with marketplace coverage in 2016 received tax credits to purchase insurance.
• Trump continues to oversimplify the rise of the Islamic State by blaming President Obama for “leaving at the wrong time” from Iraq. President George W. Bush set the withdrawal date. More important, there were numerous factors in the rise of the terrorist group.
• Trump claimed that “nobody even talked about it” when hacked emails showed that Hillary Clinton’s campaign got debate questions in advance. Actually, there was plenty of press coverage when it was revealed that former CNN contributor Donna Brazile shared questions with Clinton’s campaign.
Here's the link to fact-check the soon-to-be CLOTUS, Chief Liar of the United States.
An Ohio congressman being interviewed on the news this morning repeated the
mantra, "Trump was elected fairly and squarely". Perhaps, if we discount the Russian hacking and releasing of Dem electronic mail and her late plummet in the
polls as the FBI director continued to dribble out groundless suspicions. If
Russiagate is discounted, we reluctantly find that Jacoby's 'The Age Of American
Unreason' has come to fruition.
To Bill and BB-Idaho:
Trump was asked about reports that intelligence agencies had concluded Russia hacked his opponents for the specific purpose of helping him win. He did not answer the question. Instead he expressed his view that having good relations with Russia would be nice, and concluded by mocking his Democratic opponent: “Do you honestly believe that Hillary would be tougher on Putin than me? Does anybody in this room really believe that? Give me a break.”
It is abnormal, to say the least, for a president-elect to defend his behavior by pivoting to a contrast with the candidate he defeated. But invoking Clinton served a purpose that became clear as the press conference drew on. It defined any question he disapproved of as a challenge to his legitimacy, and thus a campaign matter, and thus by definition moot. Asked about Senator Lindsey Graham’s proposal to introduce tougher sanctions on Russia, Trump harkened back to the campaign as well. “Lindsey Graham — I’ve been competing with him for a long time,” he said, “He is going to crack that 1 percent barrier one day. I didn’t realize Lindsey Graham is still at it.” Graham, of course, is not “still at it.” He is governing, not running against Trump. But to Trump, any action that might challenge him is indistinguishable from a contest for power. --Jonathan Chait
Reminds us of the attacks by BHO on Fox. There are parallels between DJT and BHO in their attack of a media outlet that is not favorable to them but in this case CNN issued a totally false report. The day of responsible journalism has been dead for decades and now all we have is opinionated talking heads.
I'm sure you remember back when BHO said Fox was on every bar TV spewing lies. Or perhaps when BHO laughed at Mitt about Russia being meaningless and ISIS is on the run.
The 96 million looking for work takes into account the part time who wish to be full time. 96 million seems to be a stretch but so is unemployment being around 5%.
We live in interesting times
96 million seems to be a stretch
Stretch? It's another Trumpian lie. There are no 96 million Americans out of work. Stop repeating Trump's lies. Do some research on that.
As I said in my post, Donald Trump, soon-to-be CLOTUS, yammered about President Obama's birth certificate for 5 long stupid years -- a dirty lie -- FIVE YEARS. So Donnie got his tightie whities in a bunch because a news site reported rumors about him romping with prostitutes and golden showers? I don't feel sorry for him. Trump has made a lot of enemies -- and 66 million Americans can't stand the preening jackass. That's how many people voted for Hillary. When calculated for other people who ran for the presidency, it's about 73+ million who voted against him to his 62 million who voted for him. He isn't as popular as he likes to brag to all of his easily duped supporters.
He's going into the presidency with favorable marks under water.
President Obama's approval is at 57%. Donnie: 41%
Little orange cupcake needs to get used to this.
And yes, he really is this bad:
"Trump spoke in broad terms about his intention to be “the greatest jobs producer that God ever created” and to create a healthcare system that is “far less expensive and far better” than Obamacare. Asked about the plan his lawyer outlined in the presser for disentangling himself from the Trump Organization, Trump gave himself credit for turning down “$2 billion to do a deal in Dubai” with Middle Eastern developer Hussein Damack, who he deemed “a friend of mine, great guy.” Josh Marshall
...but in this case CNN issued a totally false report.
The only thing CNN reported was the fact that Trump was given the 2 page synopsis of the 35 page dossier. They never published or reported on air any of the contents of the dossier and they referred to it as 'unsubstantiated claims'. The fact that the IC briefed PEOTUS and POTUS means it rose to a level of importance. That's news and that is fact. Then Kellyanne went on Anderson Cooper to say Trump was never verbally briefed. Turns out Comey met with him and told him to his face what was in it. Lying liars.
It's obvious you have no idea what CNN is reporting and you are willing to accept anything Trump and Co. say. A man so dishonest he will lie about something as insignificant as dresses being sold out for his installment. Is there any amount of lying by this man that would cause you to question him?
Sadly, I know the answer. It's how he got elected.
Matt Tiabbi, Rolling Stone:
Clapper Wednesday night sent a groveling apologia to Trump essentially washing his hands of the BuzzFeed documents, explaining that they were "not an intelligence community product."
Nonetheless Clapper didn't exactly defuse the situation when he told Trump the intelligence community "has not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable." The DNI seemed at once to be trying to reassure Trump (who immediately, and characteristically, misreported that Clapper had denounced the kompromat tales as a "false and fictitious report") while also leaving open the possibility that the president-elect was still guilty.
These wishy-washy statements come even as news leaks steadily accumulate asserting the intelligence community's supposed confidence that a Trump-Putin plot did indeed take place.
Comey's demurrals notwithstanding, it's now known that the Justice Department before the election repeatedly sought secret FISA warrants to investigate two Russian banks and a series of Trump associates.
We now know they got the warrant to investigate the Russian banks in October. As a result, there's suddenly quite justifiable outrage that Comey decided to reveal details of his Clinton email investigation and not news of this other inquiry right before the election.
But the more immediate problem is, why is Comey still holding back now? What is he waiting for?
