President-elect Trump is at 44%.
All his strutting, bragging, tweeting, and lying hasn't benefitted him.
In fact, Trump is disliked more than any other PEOTUS in American history, according to Gallup and Pew.
Schadenfreude can be very enjoyable.
The Goopers will say it doesn't matter because he'll still be in the White House come January 20. That is true. But the Goopers also have to internalize the fact that their man-child in the White House is disliked not only by a majority of his fellow Americans but by a majority of the free world.
Russia and North Korea do admire him. So there's that.
From Business Insider
President-elect Donald Trump's approval rating is the lowest for any presidential transition Gallup has measured, the polling firm said on Friday.
Trump's approval rating came in at 44%, with 51% of respondents disapproving of the president-elect, the Gallup poll conducted two weeks before Inauguration Day found.
Those numbers represented a dip from his approval rating in mid-December when 48% of respondents approved of Trump while another 48% disapproved.
The approval ratings are significantly lower than those of the three other incoming presidents measured by Gallup: Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
At this stage of the transition, Obama had a soaring 83% approval rating, with just 12% of respondents disapproving.
Bush was favored by 61% of respondents, while 25% were not in favor of him, and Clinton saw a 68%-to-18% split.
Donald Trump is remarkably unpopular. He won. He’s taking office. But most people don’t like him.

Will he still be in the WH 4 years from now tho?
Will he be in the White House 6 days from now? Ha!
John Lewis said Trump's not a legitimate president, and I agree with Lewis. The word "legitimate" has more than one meaning, and this is the meaning Lewis refers to in saying Trump is not a legitimate president:
b. Being in accordance with established or accepted rules and standards:
Trump is sub-standard as a human being, he's broken all our accepted rules of conduct by acting like an authoritarian bully, not to mention chronic liar and braggart. He's an embarrassment to our beautiful country.
Only the willfully blind do not see this.
This is what President-elect 44% is doing to the people who voted for him.
There's no pleasure in knowing how vulnerable and desperate these poor people are now that Trump and Congress are hell-bent on depriving them of life-saving insurance. There's a special place in Hell for Trump and Ryan and this Congress for doing this dirty deed.
In mid-December, Vox published a powerful piece about Trump voters in Whitley County, Kentucky. Uninsured rates in Whitley dropped 60 percent under Obamacare, but 82 percent of voters supported Trump in the 2016 election. It’s perfect fodder for the liberal blogosphere, but looking past the numbers reveals a tragic story of fellow humans holding on for dear life.
Vox’s senior editor Sarah Kliff profiled one woman, Trump voter Debbie Mills, a small business owner whose husband was awaiting a life-saving liver transplant. They were able to obtain insurance through the ACA (Affordable Care Act).
“I don’t know what we’ll do if it does go away,” Mills said. “I guess I thought that, you know, [Trump] would not do this. That they would not do this, would not take the insurance away. Knowing that it’s affecting so many people’s lives. I mean, what are you to do then if you cannot… purchase, cannot pay for the insurance?”
This poor woman didn't believe Trump would devastate her and her family? Really. Trump is, first and foremost, a heartless liar who first allegiance is to himself and his family, not to the Americans -- especially poor Americans -- who voted for him.
Multiply this poor woman and her husband by the millions to understand what a moral pig Trump is.
As soon as original Freedom Rider John Lewis said that, Trump took the bait and struck back. Using his philosophy of always hit back harder, he claimed Lewis was all talk talk talk... no action.
At least GOP Senator Ben Sasse had some sense tweeting back that John Lewis' actions had changed the world.
Lewis is a true American hero, one of the greats our country has ever produced. Trump pales in comparison, knows nothing about sacrifice and showed his true colors in this incident.
He is a too sensitive narcissist fundamentally incapable of letting real and perceived insults roll off his back.
We are in deep water her folks.
Can you imagine President Obama striking back in this fashion every time a Republican insulted him or his family?
Anyone?
Dave, you won't get an answer from right leaning bloggers or commenters here.
My theory is that they, too, are horribly embarrassed by this immature demagogue who will be the leader of this country starting at noon next Friday. But I also think those who voted for him are too appalled at themselves and him to say anything.
Remember during the campaign how many people talked about how unpopular Hillary was? She wasn't likeable enough? Look where Trump's favorables are. Some other polls have him at 37% favorability.
Does anyone actually believe that Hillary would have acted like an unhinged spoiled girl-child tweeting rants and being vengeful had she been elected? Of course not. She knows how a leader should act, but the people who voted for Trump didn't want any of that. They wanted to shake things up, no more regular pols. Something different.
Now they got what they wanted; the country doesn't like him; and we've seen with our own eyes what a potential disaster something "different" can be.
The worst of it is the poor people who will have their health insurance taken away. I can't believe the heartlessness of that. And no, I don't believe in telling this unfortunate Trump supporters "I told you so." We need to get them to join us and to resist any further attacks on Americans' welfare.
Can you imagine President Obama striking back in this fashion every time a Republican insulted him or his family?
If he had, he would never have had time to do anything else. The wingnuts insulted him relentlessly and in the grossest and most absurd ways.
Trump lets every tiniest slight get under his thin orange skin (peel?), yet he lashes out freely at people far better than himself. His insult against John Lewis is of a piece with his earlier attack on McCain.
As for the Trumpanzees on ACA insurance who didn't think the Republicans would try to repeal it once the Manchurine candidate became President, they must be the most oblivious people on the planet. Didn't they see the 50 times the Republicans voted to repeal it before, which only Obama's veto stopped from taking effect? Of course, some of them don't even know Obamacare and the ACA are the same thing.
If the Democrats and a few sane (or nervous) Republicans do manage to save the ACA, let's make sure people like Mills know who saved it.
Thanks for the H/T Shaw.
I've never thought Trump stupid. Until now. But it is not just Trump. It's the majority of the goddamned GOP. A party that once had positive ideas and actually wanted to strengthen the nation.
Trump and the GOP appear to want to be America's Great Wrecking Ball.
We're going from leadership to leaderSHIT.
