Faketriotics!

The biggest threat to our republic and American democracy is the GQP and its inability to untether itself from the malignant narcissist, demagogue, and anti-American Former Guy, Trump.

This is an astounding piece of information:

"Pollsters at PRRI recently asked Americans if they agreed or disagreed that 'the government, media, and financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.' ”

An astonishing 23 percent of Republicans agreed, and 28 percent of Republicans agreed that 'because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.' ” --EJ Dionne, Jr., WaPo

************************

The U.S. Capitol was attacked and police men and women were assaulted. Five people died as a result of the violence, and the Trumpublican Party doesn't think a commission to investigate that attack on American democracy is necessary.

The Former Guy claimed at the convention in South Carolina this weekend that he'd be "reinstated" in the presidency in August. This is madness.

Trump's cultists believe this; Trump believes this, and the spineless GQP senators and representatives play along in Trump's psychosis.

There will be no "reinstatement." Fact.

There is no "reinstatement" clause in the Constitution, so what in hell is Trump and his sycophantic followers thinking in spreading this lunacy?

It's pretty evident that Trump has lost his marbles, and his cultists are just as crazy in following his march to insanity.

An email from a friend in Naples, Florida:

"The small minority of loud, stupid, ‘Faketriotic’ Americans who believe Trump’s megalomaniacal rants feel emboldened and validated by the overwhelming media coverage about their Dear Leader’s vision for his autocratic aspirations to ‘Save America’.

On behalf of the vast majority of quiet, sane and truly patriotic Americans let me say this: Fascist wimps are deluding themselves if they think we sane, factually patriotic Americans will remain quiet if they attempt to undo what The Greatest Generation accomplished with their lives and blood defeating the last megalomaniacal autocrat who climbed up on the world stage!"

"Faketriotics!" A perfect word to describe Trump cultists.

The right has become more radicalized than ever, but it was not a surprise. When Bush/Cheney ramped up the lies for their invasion of Iraq, those of us who called them out were told, "You're either with us or with the terrorists".

Most Americans were duped into believing Saddam was in cahoots with Al-Qaeda and was involved in 9-11. The other Big Lies of the time were about Saddam having nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons programs. Nope. None of the above.

Bush Jr. did his own Orwellian imitation, "I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace."

Big Brother's slogans were, "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

They have been incubating this fascism for decades. And it's rapidly becoming too late to stop them.

The mass emails that are being sent to the trumpers are truly crazy. I was on a couple email lists so I could see what they were sending out. I then couldn't take it any more and opted out. Yet, just today I was trying to find an email and checked my spam folder--holy cow! They are still sending these mass emails saying the world is going to end unless you donate money to trump. One email you had to click on one of two things. Either: I support and will donate to Donald Trump; or, I support fake news. Those were your options--LOL!

23% of Republicans is probably less than 10% of the total population. Frankly that's not as bad as I feared.

There's an irreducible minimum of people at the bottom end of the IQ spectrum that believes in psychic powers and astrology and ghosts and creationism and Kennedy assassination conspiracies and faked Moon landings and low-carb diets and a flat Earth and basically any kind of nonsense that comes along that they find congenial for whatever reason. For some of those things it's probably a lot more than 10% of the population. Trump organized the mass stupidity that was always out there, and weaponized it for political purposes, and we're now stuck with the results.

That e-mail from your friend in Florida should serve as a rallying cry. American democracy has survived attacks from enemies far more impressive than Trump and his bleach-guzzling legions.

As for "a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation" -- aside from the Satan-worshiping part, this is basically describing the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. They actually did run the Western world until a few centuries ago, but no longer do. QAnon is out-of-date.

I miss James Randi.

Infidel753 I'll never forget James Randi's kindness to my dying brother-in-law, who was a huge fan, as was I. My brother-in-law's friends somehow got in touch with Randi and asked him to call Fred, and he did. They had a great conversation for 10 minutes or so, and it lifted Fred's spirits for days after. I loved Randi's challenges to so-called "spiritualists, astrologists, and psychics. None ever collected the $10,000 he offered if they could prove their psychic powers. This is one of my favorites:

"An astrologer, Joseph Meriwether, claimed that he was able to ascertain a person's astrological sign after talking with them for a few minutes. He was presented with twelve people, one at a time, each with a different astrological sign. They could not tell Meriwether their astrological sign or birth date, nor could they wear anything that would indicate it. After Meriwether talked to them, he had them go and sit in front of the astrological sign that he thought was theirs. By agreement, Meriwether needed to get ten of the 12 correct, to win. He got none correct."

The fact that the Bush Era liars were accountable for nothing that dragged us into that terrible war seeded the way for a Donald Trump and his cultists. If we fail to investigate and uncover who, beside Trump, helped instigate the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, we surely will live to regret it, as you so clearly and rightly pointed out in your comment.

I saw a brief video of Trump's talk at the convention in South Carolina this past weekend.

He looked terrible, and he sounded weak, confused, and addled.

I doubt very much he'll be in any condition to run again in 2024. Trump's continuous claims of having won the election and insisting that he'll be "reinstated" illustrates how far gone he is in either some sort of dementia or a deep psychosis. He's unwell in the head.

If the whole world were as stupid as trumpublicans, we'd have to have nerf vehicles due to everyone walking into the street in heavy traffic. Seriously, they really don't come more dense than a Trump backer.
As for all the rest of the hokum being discussed, I have but on religion -- science and it's good enough for me. Though, I think I did go to the prom with a girl named Claire Voyant. Or was it Poppy Ballons? No, it was Hilee. Yes, Hilee Contagious. Ahhh, memories........ :)
On a much more serious note, I've finally decided that I will go against thousands of years of my ancestors wishes and be cremated when I die. I figure it's probably the one and only time I'll get a smoking hot body.

For this dark era to pass will(require the unreality folks of Amnerica to look at, and then face actually reality head on. Next step is to accept it (actual reality) and move on to a higher plain.

Does ANYBODY really believe that is ever going to happen? Cause it ain't. Ever.

Trumpublican "conservatives" lack the capacity to acknowledge reality. They prefer the stories they continually tell themselves to make themselves feel special. They are of course anything but special.

Thanks for the laughs!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry about how deep down the rabbit hole the Trump cultists have fallen.

Every day I get trolls in my "Comment Moderation"folder bitching about what I write on my own blog. No one forces these nuts to come here, and yet every day, they do!

Now, it takes a certain kind of stupid to deliberately visit a blog where you KNOW you'll find material that'll anger you and where the blog hostess is definitely anti-Trump and anti-QAnon. Yet those trolls from the WYD blog continue this insane behavior. And it is insane. Einstein defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

I guess it makes sense that they would support an insane guy like Trump, who actually believes he won the 2020 election, and will be "reinstated" in the presidency in August!

Someone else explained the August BS well. They said the date will come and go and he will use it to say, "They did it to us again! Send me more money!"

Shaw, reality, actual reality as it is, is perfect. It is not until humans, acting on stories they have been conditioned to believe act on events unfolding in reality in the attempt to force the outcome to conform to the stories they have been conditioned to believe do things get problematic.

Trouble is not long away. But, in the end, reality will not be anything other that what it is meant to be.

Sounds very familiar.
