General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

Confirming once again that Fox News is in truth FAUX News aka Fake News. Complicit in the continuing effort to disrupt and eventually destroy our democratic republic.

But if you're white, uneducated or undereducated, wear a MAGA hat, support 2'nd class citizenship for women w/out the right to control their own bodies, believe immigrants are the #1 problem, support dictators that support the Trumpublican ideology of Trump, love for fascism, believe we need more firearms in America in the hands of folks who think just like the leadership of the NRA...

Of course there is more but those who support authoritarian leadership based on personality like the Trumpublicans do will be fine. It the rest of us (the majority) that need worry if they ever are in power again.

Abd FAUX Snooze supports all of that.

Actually... above comment was response to previous post.

Maybe we can put the hate behind us for a few months or maybe days. Clinton was the last diplomat president who seemed to work for everyone. Bush was an empty suit but did a good calm job bringing the country through a rough time. Obama hated the middle class and small businesses but he could read a prepared speech and had the press on his side. Trump hated everything and everybody who did not agree with everything he had to say. He totally alienated the press and was a total disrupt-er who couldn't put his ego to bed. Biden takes over where trump left off. Both of them are haters, trump hated the left and biden hates the right only biden has openly admitted he hates 70 million Americans. Now we have a VP who has done nothing but she does have an opinion on he Supreme court because they didn't act as she wanted.

Time to regroup and admit we have different views on things but we are all Americans and it is time we start acting like it.

Yesterday, I read that only 14 states in our country teach their children about 9/11.
My BIG Question is WHY?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Wow, skud! One must have a keen association with hatred himself in order to have the ability to label people YOU DON'T PERSONALLY KNOW as hateful.

Your claim that Pres. Obama "hated" the middle class is unfounded and mere prejudicial claptrap on your part. We here at PE have read your trashing of Pres. Obama for the past years and years! It's your opinion and it is NOT widely held.

Joe Biden is NOT a "hater" for calling out a PART of the GOP that is anti-democratic and pro-authoritarian. You deliberately left out THE FACT that Joe Biden specifically said in his speech that NOT ALL REPUBLICANS ARE pro-fascists, but certainly the Republicans who invited the authoritarian leader of Hungary who is anti-LGBTQ, anti-immigration, and anti-DEMOCRATIC, and who shut down all opposition media -- those Republicans are PRO-fascists, and Americans should oppose that movement.

Your false presentation of Biden is shameful. You're taking the part of a rabble-rouser, repeating lies about Joe Biden's speech. And I don't know why you engage in that.

Anyone who deliberately obfuscates the truth of Joe Biden's speech is, IMO, probably someone who is fine with seeing America follow strongman Orban and his anti-democracy goons.

Shame. Shame. Shame!

This is what Joe Biden was speaking against:

"Since coming to power in 2010, Orban and Fidesz have steadily tightened their grip on the Hungarian state. The country’s media ecosystem is dominated now by entities loyal to the ruling government. The independence of the country’s judiciary has been eroded over Orban’s dozen consecutive years in power. And, though Hungary’s elections are free, it’s hard to call them fair.

That’s in part because Orban’s government used its overwhelming parliamentary powers to amend the country’s constitution and rework how elections play out. Hungary has a mixed-member parliament where seats are elected both by geographic districts and party lists allocated in proportion to the popular vote — a system many political scientists consider admirable, but which, in Hungary’s case, “is warped,” as the Economist noted.

“Hungary’s electoral playing field is heavily tilted against the opposition. In 2010, Orban amended the Constitution to cut the size of the parliament in about half, after which he gerrymandered the entire country,” explained political scientist Kim Lane Scheppele."

If you're not AGAINST that attack on democracy, then what are you FOR, skud? Biden spoke against people not defending American democracy and those Republicans supporting neo-fascism.

What are you for?

Shaw Kenawe said...

"The temperature in the United States is no doubt increasing, particularly on the right. Each new election cycle turns up more and more extremist Republican candidates who say they don’t believe in the legitimacy of President Biden’s 2020 victory and who explicitly call for new legal measures to restrict the franchise in various states and tip the scales for a Republican presidential candidate.

“Both Orban’s Fidesz party and the U.S. Republicans have changed electoral rules to ensure that their party gets the disproportionate proportion of seats,” Lee Drutman, a senior fellow at the New America Foundation and an advocate for proportional representation, told me. “The ways with which they have done that are different because the underlying political systems are different,” he said, “but there is a shared logic” about how they see electioneering"

To skurunner:

Biden assails Trump loyalists but not all Republicans after backlash

Speaking earlier to hundreds of union leaders and advocates under a bright sun in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on the U.S. holiday designated to celebrate the achievements of American workers, Biden said he was not smearing all Republicans. But he slammed those who would defend the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

What don't you get about this, skud??? You deliberately misrepresented Joe Biden's speech? Why? Doing so only sows more division and promotes more lies. Why did you do that? Why do you believe those lies.

Joe Biden did not impugn 70 Million Americans. Joe Biden criticized those who continue to support MAGA and Trump's anti-democratic ideas.

Stop spreading lies!

Shaw Kenawe said...

"Not every Republican is a MAGA Republican, not every Republican embraces that extreme ideology. But the extreme MAGA Republicans in Congress have chosen to go backwards, full of anger, violence, hate and division," Biden said in Milwaukee.

"There's no democracy where you can be pro-insurrection and pro-democracy," he said in a reference to the assault on the U.S. Capitol.

Biden did walk back some of his comments and after the third reading he was a bit softer. If you listened to his speech from the alter it was a blatant condemnation of all republicans. Maybe this was just a trial balloon to see reaction and then he dialed it back, as he so often does. After all, some of the rich white kids he is giving 10k to are republicans and he can't buy their votes if he says he hates them.

When your idol said you didn't build your company and I am going to give away what you worked for is not hate then it is a severe dislike.

Skud said... Maybe we can put the hate behind us for a few months or maybe days.

And then immediately says "Obama hated the middle class and small businesses, but he could read a speech..."

I thought you southerners always said "Bless his heart" before you unleashed your personal hate.

Great example of how to put hate behind us for a few months of days. You couldn't make it a few lines in a blog comment.

Anon @ 6:54... you, the Mothership and other connected bloggers have been all over this "story."

But here's a few facts...

1. The article cited is from August 11, 2011. It's 11 years old!
2. It was updated in 2019.

So it's hardly current.

Also, the headline should give you a clue... it is not part of many state "standards". That does not mean it is not part of lessons or that children are not being taught about the day, the attack, of the consequences.

Despite what you and other reactionaries may think, or believe.

Thanks for clearing that Anonymous's comment up. I did not check out the Mother Ship recently, so I didn't know it was posted there.

Skud and the Mother Ship seem to wallow in misinformation and lies.

The fact that you have to remind us means many have already forgotten, or it means little to their lives.
In response to a terrorist act committed by a terrorist hiding out in Afghanistan and Pakistan, we invaded and killed Iraqis.
Bush declared he was going to eliminate evil from the world; an asinine statement if there ever was one.
After 20 years fighting in Afghanistan the Taliban are again in charge of Afghanistan and oppressing its people. What good have we achieved?

Get hold of yourself. You're beginning to sound like a cantankerous old bitty. Now I know you're not, but your unending spewing of HATRED toward a decent and honest ex-president is a bad look.

You've been gnawing on that bone for years. Give it a break. It's bad for your mental health.

Anonymous, how many Americans do you think stop and reflect on December 7 each year? That was my parents' generation's traumatizing catastrophe. What about November 22, 1963? That was my generation's trauma.

As the years pass, so do people's memories and, sadly, new national catastrophes replace the old ones. Perhaps the current generation's will be the 1 millions COVID deaths America suffered and the interruption of their school years.

Sept. 11, 2001 will always be a terrifying day to remember for me. A very close family friend lost his life, at 41, while working for Cantor and Fitzgerald in the North Tower.

My own son was scheduled to be on the 60th floor of the North Tower that day to give a presentation. His boss sent another colleague in his place because my son had been traveling for two weeks prior to that. My son's colleague miraculously escaped, but was permanently traumatized by seeing the death and destruction around him.

Ms Shaw, You were not part of the personal attack on the small business and middle class so I cannot expect you to understand. Decent president he was but I wouldn't go as far as saying honest.

It will be interesting to see how joey handles the potential train worker strike. If he sides with the workers and allow them to strike prices and availability will suffer but if he sides with the companies he blows his credibility with the unions which he must have support from. Tough place to be in.

It will be interesting to see how skud actually will handle a fascist government if the Trumpublicans ever gain the power of the presidency, the house, and the senate and hold it for awhile. skud, the mother ship, and many others will find authoritarian fascism to their disliking. So, if and when it happens it will be loads of fun reminding them what they wished for.

Skud spoke of a "personal attack on the small business and middle class" by President Obama.

Can you explain what you are talking about?

Specifically, what makes up this "attack"? And secondly, why is whatever you construe as the "attack" personal? Do you have any direct evidence like statements, etc?

I'm asking for a friend.

skudrunner said...

Rev, Tell your friend to look back at several of his statements from you didn't build your business the government did to we are going to take more of what you earn to give to others to $250k per year is rich even if most of that is used to keep your company afloat. Tell your friend that he was speaking to me so I do consider it an personal attack. I will say he is a swell guy.

Have you been to the secure border recently?
