Remember when a Florida teacher lost her job because she had her students see a photograph in a book of Michelangelo's David? -- a world heritage treasure was just too raunchy for Florida's delicate students, and because that teacher didn't warn the parents of the students who were about to see A PHOTO! not a real nekkid man, a PHOTO of a STONE SCULPTURE! that teacher lost her job.
It's beyond stupid and right up there with some sort of deranged 15th century prudish sensitivity about the human body.
Now the state of Florida is bowdlerizing* SHAKESPEARE! Yes, you read that correctly. The "Moms For Liberty" cranks are at it again, and they and DeSantis's education department have decided that Shakespeare is too sexy and raunchy for the delicate minds of Florida's students.
And there you have it.

Ms. Shaw, Maybe they should show debbie does dallas in the elementary school lunch room. After all it is a classic and children of all ages should be exposed to classics. I think it is great that we are exposing children of all ages to everything and giving the opportunity to have gender altering surgery at 5. Lets put all decisions regarding our children in the hands of the politicians because they have shown themselves to be far better at determining what is right than parents. Look at how well they manage the border when even the great state of Mass is declaring an emergency after NYC. Have you made one of your guest rooms illegal accessible.

You say parents should have the last say with their kids and yet say nothing of the multitudes of children expelled from their homes before the age of majority for the crime of being LGBTQA+. And for the record, no one is performing sex reassignment surgeries on five year old kids, not as you state. If such surgeries are happening there are circumstances of which are none of our business. You know nothing of which you speak skudrunner, nothing.

Skud, DeSantis signed the bill passed by Republican Leg. banning gender affirming care for minors. It takes away the right of parents and medical professionals to treat a child with gender dysphoria (It's a real thing). It's politicians who legalized the right of one ignorant, stick up the ass parent to get a book removed from a school library over the objection of local school boards, educators and other parents. It's politicians who have determined women have no right to reproductive health care after 6 weeks.

skud believes he means well. In his mind he does. However, like all sentient beings he is controlled by his ego and conditioned societal beliefs. Including religious influences. He has reified those beliefs and influences and is now unwilling, or unable, to see light.
Grey, I don't know the two people you referenced so I have no comment on them. Children should be exposed to everything but it should be age appropriate and having a third grader gawk at a naked statue is just not appropriate, IMHO. Parents should be in control of their children's education and that applies to parents of "transgender" children. I am opposed to men competing as women in sports because women just can't compete with a biological man and it would be the end of women's sports.
Christens are the largest group of hypocrites in existence. They say they are christens then hate everyone who is not like them, kinda like progressives.
