Agree the KSoA is the most disgustingly corrupt POS president this nation has ever had.

Disagree that giving the corrupt tRumpublican party exactly what they wanted was the smart thing to do. Why? Because dems will find another way to lose.

This looked like typical Democrat weakness, but there's a time for strategic retreat in battles.
I think the shutdown's message was clear with the election results. Voters knew who to blame. But people need their paychecks and less chaos. Trump wanted it, but changed his mind when he understood it worked against him. The shutdown served its purpose. There was zero chance Republicans would reverse their assault on Obamacare. By next November the blowback will be felt again.

I agree Dave, it was ALL about turnout for the election. Who cares if some poor black kids had to go hungry for a week.

Well, we certainly know Trump doesn’t.

He voted to keep the government shut down 14 times? Wow, he sure hates hungry kids.

The democrats are pushing for 1.5 trillion in additional spending. Some of that would go to fund the additional obamacare subsidies that biden put into place for covid which is estimated to cost 350 billion leaving 1.15 trillion to waste. Covid is over so what is the additional funds going to be used for? Oh I forgot we need to make sure the insurance companies are adequately funded and they are big political gifters so of course the politicians would want them to have more money. Healthcare for undocumented immigrants. Medicaid work requirements for able-bodied adults on Medicaid.
Can't forget funding climate resilience initiatives in other countries, and other social and equity programs.

Now that the brain trust in DC has decided instead of taking a deal in October they would shut down the government and punish the public so they could take the same deal in November, and we elect these people.

Shaw,
I don't recommend it, but if anyone wanted to see neo-Nazi/Klan levels of racism, -FJ/JC isn't exactly keeping his hood and robe in the closet at his blogs.

He hates anything that doesn't line his pockets with gold for himself.

OT a wee bit:
Just read that former President Obama met the Honor Flight from Madison, WI, greeting the whole plane as they landed and then shaking hands and handing out challenge coins (huge huge deal in the military - no coin higher than POTUS) to each as they disembarked.

I have to say my soul went squeee. Glad that cat wasn't sleeping on my feets or my toes would be shredded.

On topic, I've gone back and forth about the actions taken by the traitorous 8. For whatever reasons (and there are more reasons provided than Senators so make of that what you will) their actions led us to here/now.

So, what are we going to do about it? I can tell you the kids have already started.

What leaders ask the traditionalists?
Laughing at the antiquated idea that the only way to accomplish a task is through the hierarchal approach to task divisions, the kids reply "We know what we need to accomplish. You are too slow, either lead, assist, or get out of the way (they prefer this last option as all kids in all times have done since ever)."

I know there were plans in place to address events if the shutdown continued. I know the kids are going to be fine because they took the failure of the establishment Dems, admitted they acted as their nature demanded, pivoted, and are already lining up folks to primary anyone who isn't on board with their goal of food, housing, and healthcare for the masses. Every thing else is details to be worked out once all are fed, warm/cool depending on the climate, and relatively healthy.

Hate to admit he is correct because while I listen to Tim Miller I'm not exactly fond of his voice. That said, the gent has the facts and as y'all know, I'm a big fan of facts.
