HANNITY'S PAL, TURNER, ARRESTED AFTER THREATENING TO KILL FEDERAL JUDGES

The Department of Homland Security earlier this year warned about dangerous rightwing individuals and hate groups. A number of conservatives became incensed and demanded an apology. Shortly after that brouhaha, a crazed rightwing anti-abortionist murdered a doctor, and a few weeks later a Holocaust denying man killed a security guard at Washing DC's Holocaust museum.

And now more mayhem threatened by rightwing blogger and radio host:

On June 24, FBI agents went to the New Jersey home of white supremacist blogger/radio host Hal Turner and arrested him “on a federal complaint filed in Chicago alleging that he made internet postings threatening to assault and murder three federal appeals court judges in Chicago in retaliation for their recent ruling upholding handgun bans in Chicago and a suburb,” according to a statement released by the Justice Department. A summary of Turner’s dangerous tirade against the judges:

Internet postings on June 2 and 3 proclaimed “outrage” over the June 2, 2009, handgun decision by Chief Judge Frank Easterbrook and Judges Richard Posner and William Bauer, of the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, further stating, among other things: “Let me be the first to say this plainly: These Judges deserve to be killed.” The postings included photographs, phone numbers, work address and room numbers of these judges, along with a photo of the building in which they work and a map of its location.

Turner’s posts also “referred to the murder of the mother and husband of Chicago-based federal Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow in February 2005,” saying, “Apparently, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court didn’t get the hint after those killings. It appears another lesson is needed.” In the Justice Department statement, U.S. attorney Patrick Fitzgerald — who announced the charges — said, “We take threats to federal judges very seriously. Period.”

Turner has ties to Fox News’ Sean Hannity. In fact, Hannity has “offered his top-rated radio show as a regular forum for Turner’s occasionally racist, always over-the-top rants.”

I guess we can now say that, indeed, Hannity has been "palling around with terrorists"

The truth always comes back to bite people on their backsides, doesn't it.

Or as my Nonna used to say "Don't spit in the wind, it'll come back and hit you in the face."

Avete ragione, Nonna.

Why do you seemed to be so pleased about this?
Why don't you take your meds and go and get some rest before you get so excited that you might hurt yourself.

Why do you think that this is this bad news for ALL conservatives. I for one don't give a damn about it.
I hope that didn't ruin your day.

Jeff, its bad news for ALL conservatives just like everything that you find distasteful is because of 'liberals'

Oh, Sandy, in case you haven't noticed you and your buddies haven't been real good at ducking lately...

But then again, you all are nothing more than creations of bluepitbull....

The irghties of the Limbaugh/Hannity ilk will tolerate any behavior, no matter how rude, crude or depicable, as long as the offender stays in line with the right wing cabal. These jokers consider a petty crook like G. Gordon Liddy to be great Americans. How soon before they have a statue erected (No pun intended) honoring Sanford's trips to Argentina as promoting free trade. He surely must have brought some American made Trojans with him. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and rubber factory workers salute you Governor Sanford.

By the way late breaking news...Michael Jackson is Dead!

JeffJots,

Nowhere in my post does it intimate that I'm "pleased" about this.

I believe that interpretation is yours and yours alone.

Your comment on my needing meds is indicative of your irritation about this news.

Mr. Hannity made the decision to put Mr. Turner on his show. Your anger should be directed at Hannity, not me.

Sandy,

If you didn't give a "crap," why did you comment?

Your anger is better directed at Mr. Turner, who threatened to murder federal judges.

Truth: Then, is it true that you do not consider Bill Clinton a great American?

TAO,

We miss you! Your blog and your writing.

“We take threats to federal judges very seriously. Period,” said Patrick J. Fitzgerald, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois

I would hope the FBI and other law officials would take these types of threats seriously regardless of a person’s stature or position.

I will be curious to see if Hannity will condemn Turner as he stated Obama should’ve done with Ayers and Wright. That would be the fair and balanced thing to do.

If memory serves, and usually does, didn't the GOP Queen Bitch, Annthrax Coulter, threaten a sitting Federal judge?

I guess the FBI let her threat slide unnoticed because:

1. she was nailing a male FBI agent
2. she's a kook

Yes, Coulter did suggest that a Supreme Court justice be poisoned:

Coulter Jokes About Poisoning Supreme Court Justice
Friday, January 27, 2006

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, speaking at a traditionally black college, joked that Justice John Paul Stevens should be poisoned.

Coulter had told the Philander Smith College audience Thursday that more conservative justices were needed on the Supreme Court to change the current law on abortion. Stevens is one of the court's most liberal members.

"We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said.

Pamela,

I agree. That sort of hate speech is repugnant coming from any extremist end of the political spectrum, and should be condemned.

TAO,

You may have missed my blog on this, but from here on out I'm trying not to mention "you know who" anymore on my blog so that there will be no more provocation for anger, rancor, and, well, hate speech.

I hope you return to blogging. I miss reading your contributions, which were always thoughtful and provocative--in a good way.

One more thing I forgot to include in my last comment.

For some weird pc reason, I'm not able to email you with the email you have provided on your blog. But as soon as I correct the problem, I will send you an email and explain why I haven't visited your blog. Yet.

Speaking of Republicans, our favorite 400lbs. junkie and pedophile, Rush Limbaugh, blamed South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's infidelity and affair with his Argentine honey on....., you guessed it: President Obama!

Said Limbaugh:

"This is almost like, 'I don't give a damn, the country's going to Hell in a handbasket, I just want out of here. He [Sanford] had just tried to fight the stimulus money coming to South Carolina. He didn't want any part of it. He lost the battle. He said, 'What the Hell. I mean, I'm -- the federal government's taking over -- what the Hell, I want to enjoy life.'"

So there you have the latest talking points on how the GOP deals with a cheating Republican elected politician.

You blame the Democrat in the White House! FOFLMAO!

Give an Idiot a link that is not open to anyone anywhere and he really acts like a tough guy.
No that didn't ruin my day, it takes a lot more then a simpleton like you to ruin MY day..

Hey John... You Mammy's calling you, it's past your bed time.

By the way, Obammy must be pretty confident that his fascist friends in Iran will hold on to power.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Chris,

Thanks for that info on Rush. I'm not surprised he blamed Obama for Sanford's troubles.

Rush is becoming more and more irrelevant and disconnected with reality. He has to hang onto his audience, who apparently thrives on his every increasing lunacy.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Hi John,

I tried to explain to JeffJots that his irritation over my posting this was misdirected.

He should be angry at Turner for threatening homicide.

Shaw,

I'm sure you're aware that Mark Sanford voted to impeach Bill Clinton for having an affair and lying about it while in office.

Mark Sanford is also vehemently antigay marriage and even opposes civil unions.

I wonder when Mark Sanford will issue a formal apology to both Bill Clinton and America's LGBT community?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Chris,

You know how these "holier than thou" types behave.

There will be no apologies, since they believe in "Do as I say, not as I do" hypocrisy.

They will never acknowledge that the greatest threat to marriage is not gay marriage, but hypocrites like him.

My Nonna was right:

"Never spit in the wind; it'll come back and hit you in the face."

Shaw: I had a Nunny, she always had good advice too. She passed away in January. I think Nonna's and Nunny's advice should be heeded!

Poor old Governor Sanford.

Oh well. It isn't easy fightin' in them cultural wars on the side of family and tradition.

The flesh is weak...

I don't doubt for an instant he'll be 'forgiven'. With politics likely not the best career path for the short to medium term I have to imagine he will up and hit the redemption circuit.

And the inevitable book:

'Don't Cry for Me Argentina: One Man's Journey on the Appalachian Trail'

Shaw: I just now listened to a rant from Rush about second-hand smoke, and it was pretty much 100% lies. If he said anything factual in it, I missed it.

Joe "Truth 101" Kelly said...

Dmarks: to answer your question about Bill Clinton. We're both guys here Buddy. And I'm sure the fine members of the fairer sex, at least the enlightened ones, (in my dreams anyway) appreciate good oral sex as much as President Clinton. If anything, that elevates him in my humble opinion.

I'm in no way saying one has to appreciate good oral sex to be a great American. But I do question the sanity of someone who doesn't.

This comment humbly submitted by Truth 101.

Shaw. There are idiots in the blogsphere who actually believe that reporting on a incident about a radio host saying federal judges should be killed is the same as celebrating it.

I actually read some low-intelligence person state this.

Unbelievable

Arthur: He should go the way of Spitzer. A rare example of a governor/etc caught who has a sense of shame and gets out of office in relatively short order.
