IT'S REALLY, REALLY, HARD TO KEEP UP...

WITH ALL THE ABOMINATIONS THAT ASSOCIATE THEMSELVES WITH THE GOP:

Nameless Cynic over at The Swash Zone has more on GOP absurdities and idiocies.

THIS IS A TEA PARTIER.  AND HE'S PISSED OVER DUI LAWS.  NO.  REALLY.

"Montana is a big state. Lots of small towns. Lots of isolated bars. People have to drive quite a ways sometimes to get a drink. And the west is famous, of course, for its “belly up to the bar” attitude.

So perhaps it comes as no surprise that when somebody says tougher DUI laws are bad for businesses, it’s a Republican from Montana. And that he is a Tea Party-supported Republican. One of that crazy freshmen crop we haven’t quite gotten used to yet.

A Tea Partier and a bar owner, no less.

Alan Hale, a GOP lawmaker who owns a bar in Basin, MT complained about the effects of tougher DUI laws:

“These DUI laws are not doing our small businesses in our state any good at all. They are destroying them. They are destroying a way of life that has been in Montana for years and years.”

Hale’s assault on clear thinking is so outrageous that ConsumerReports.org was prompted to question whether or not the video was an April Fool’s Joke. No, it’s no joke: It’s a Tea Partier."

ON THE ISSUE OF RAPE, THE GOP AND GADHAFI HAVE A LOT IN COMMON.  LINK HERE.

BUT WAIT!  THERE'S MORE GOP INANITY AND ASTONISHING IDIOCY!  THESE PEOPLE WANT TO RUN THE US GOVERNMENT!  THINK OF THAT FRIGHTENING PROSPECT, FRIENDS, WHEN YOU READ THIS:

From Wonkette:

MN State Senator: Integration ‘Ruined’ Minneapolis But He Still Likes Blacks

"...Burnsville Republican Sen. Dan Hall on school integration. “I watched Minneapolis get destroyed, so I not only didn’t want my kids in the school system,” he said. “I took them out of Minneapolis because they ruined our neighborhoods with integration and [de]segregation.” Hall made his remarks during debate about a move by Minnesota Republicans to repeal school integration laws, specifically a decades-long program that aims to diversify schools in the Twin Cities metro area and Duluth."
WISCONSIN GOVERNOR WALKER BELIEVES IN PAYING OFF HIS CONTRIBUTORS BY PUTTING THEIR UNDEREDUCATED, DRUNK-DRIVING CONVICTED SONS IN STATE JOBS:

"No degree, little experience pay off big

Just in his mid-20s, Brian Deschane has no college degree, very little management experience and two drunken-driving convictions.

Yet he has landed an $81,500-per-year job in Gov. Scott Walker's administration overseeing environmental and regulatory matters and dozens of employees at the Department of Commerce. Even though Walker says the state is broke and public employees are overpaid, Deschane already has earned a promotion and a 26% pay raise in just two months with the state.

How did Deschane score his plum assignment with the Walker team?

It's all in the family.

His father is Jerry Deschane, executive vice president and longtime lobbyist for the Madison-based Wisconsin Builders Association, which bet big on Walker during last year's governor's race.

The group's political action committee gave $29,000 to Walker and his running mate, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, last year, making it one of the top five PAC donors to the governor's successful campaign. Even more impressive, members of the trade group funneled more than $92,000 through its conduit to Walker's campaign over the past two years.

Total donations: $121,652.

That's big-time backing from the homebuilders.

The younger Deschane didn't respond to questions about his job.

But his father said he doesn't think his group's financial support of the first-term Republican helped his son in his job search.

"He got the position himself," said Jerry Deschane, who returned to the trade group in September after a hiatus during which he worked as an independent lobbyist for many groups, including the builders association. "I didn't get it for him."

One Walker critic isn't buying it.

State Rep. Brett Hulsey called Deschane's appointment another case of the new administration using state jobs to repay various industries.

Hulsey said he was unimpressed with the younger Deschane's résumé, including his lack of environmental or management experience.

"It doesn't look like he's ever had a real job," the Madison Democrat said."

.... Fuck that!! I WAS RAPED IN THE LAST ELECTION.... AND I WANT A RECALL.......

The Prophet Dervish Z Sanders said...

If he were being honest, the exact words Eric Turner would have used when arguing against Gail Riecken's amendment would have been, "we have to close this fake rape loophole I just dreamed up". (according to an HuffPo blogger).

As for the second doofus, drinking and driving is a "way of life"? Well, maybe it shouldn't be.

The GOP apparently believes its most important job is to make poor women's lives more miserable and difficult than they already are, and to make it easier for drunks to kill people.

What a party. The GOP is a magnet for misogynists and wackos.

I haven't really figured all this crazy stuff out but right now I have isolated it all to one of two explanations:

1. At sometime in the past aliens did land on Earth and they reproduced...and what we are witnessing now is the children of aliens who have become elected officials, radio and television media stars, and of course they all have found each other on the right of the political spectrum.

2. Or, all these folks were tricked into believing that they were trying out for a new reality series: Say something stupid for money!

I think its the 2nd one, I mean it would be an easy sell with Palin, Beck, and Limbaugh as examples....

Huh. I was in Minneapolis a few weeks ago and it looked fine to me. Must have been destroyed since then.

I wonder if the kooky republican chick blames her fat ass on hysterical prenancy.

You can't talk sense to these nuts. They think Sarah Palin is an intellectual.

Les Carpenter said...

Just more hyperbolic crap.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Yeah. Hyperbolic. Let's ignore the loonies who make public their lunacy.

Just remember that Scott Walker was a county rep then a state assemblman.

BTW, RN, I've left out many of the other documented crackpots who belong to the GOP at the county, state, and federal levels.

And then there's the biggest joke:

Donald Trump: a guy who was born wealthy and managed to go through 3 bankrupties, all while wearing a stupid wig.

Trump has jumped on the Birthers bandwagon along with known asshat, Orly Taitz.

As I said, the GOP seem to be a magnet for kooks.

Or maybe TAO has the correct theory.

I think that you need to also feature Santorum and his speech on how the abortion culture has created the social security crisis....sounds like he is demanding that we do away with all of our child labor laws and put all newborns to work immediately so that they can start paying in to social security....

Shaw Kenawe said...

As I stated in this post, it is really, really difficult to keep up with the number of wackos and kooks who associate with the GOP.

But I will continue to do so and show how bizarre the Tea Party and its favorite politcians is.

Maine's Gov. LePage has just received a rebuke from members of HIS OWN PARTY over the governor's taking down of a labor mural from Maine's Dept. of Labor, because it was not favorable to corporations!

If there's someone more of a jackass than LePage is, I haven't heard of him as yet.

He's toast. Even GOP Mainers think he's destructive to the party.

Talk about buyers' remorse!

I just received an email from World Net Daily that claims Harry Reid said, "Pay for Abortions or I'll Shut Down the Government". According to the story Harry Reid is "taking a stand for tax-funded child-killing". "Not only NO, but HELL NO", Reid said.

In regards to funding of abortions for victims of rape or incest, WND says, "Why should we be forced by the IRS to pay a murderous abortion doctor to kill an innocent child, just because the baby's father was a criminal? We should not. The baby deserves to live, even if conceived by rape or incest. Punish the criminal, don't kill the innocent victim".

Big government Conservatives want to force victims of rape or incest to carry their rapists babies to term. Unbelievable! I agree with Harry Reid: we need to stand up to these sick self-righteous fundamentalists and say HELL NO to the defunding of Planned Parenthood.

Shaw Kenawe said...

WD,

It's unbelievable. The conservatives are against government's intrusion into our lives except where they want it to intrude into our lives, especially women's lives.

There is a birth control pill that can be taken within DAYS after a rape, and no one in his/her right mind would call that killing a "child."

This whole issue is about theology and the Right's campaign to force it on Americans.

Hey, Squid man to the rescue again.

Well, when you ain't got anything but the delete button that pretty much says it all.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Les, I have to say that it is difficult to take you seriously when you take Michael Savage seriously.

Here are some of his quotes:

* On autism: "A fraud, a racket. ... I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, 'Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot.' "

* On asthma: "[W]hy was there an asthma epidemic amongst minority children? Because I'll tell you why: The children got extra welfare if they were disabled, and they got extra help in school. It was a money racket. Everyone went in and was told [fake cough], 'When the nurse looks at you, you go [fake cough], "I don't know, the dust got me."' See, everyone had asthma from the minority community."

* On immigrants from Africa: "There's the new America for you. Bring them in by the millions. Bring in 10 million more from Africa. Bring them in with AIDS. Show how multicultural you are. They can't reason, but bring them in with a machete in their head. Go ahead. Bring them in with machetes in their mind."

* On the Democratic Party: "The Democrat [sic] Party is the minority party. ... [Sen. Barack] Obama is a minority, a half minority at least. The membership is made up largely of minority blocs, the Hispanic caucus and the gay caucus -- caucuses that are all against the white person."

* On Guantánamo Bay: "I'd hang every lawyer who went down to Guantánamo to defend those murderers."

And this:

"Liberalism is unraveling the very fabric of this great nation. And the sooner you understand that liberalism is a dangerous mental disorder, the sooner you can break free from this insanity that attacks the way you live, how you conduct your business, the way you worship, the choice of SUV you drive, the food you eat, and the very freedoms you enjoy."

Finally, I don't know about you personally, but I've read on many conservative blogs that we liberals think Mr. Obama is "The One," "The Messiah," etc.

Of course no liberal ever labeled him that. It was people on the Right who did so.

But I have to say that when it comes to worshipping someone to cultish levels, you certainly can claim membership in that club.

Call a real hot-dog by his actual name: Michael Weiner.

"The membership is made up largely of minority blocs, the Hispanic caucus and the gay caucus -- caucuses that are all against the white person."

It does not surprise me that Weiner has racist paranoia. This bit could have been lifted from David Duke.

RN, you really need better conservatives to quote. There are much better ones. Weiner also accuses those who don't share his political views as being mentally ill. Well, I guess I am in the nuthouse too.

Les Carpenter said...

Shaw...

Savage is an entertainer as well as making valid comments from time to time.

I wonder why it is the progressives never comment on his stand with respect to GWB, Wall Street, crony capitalism etc. Is it because you disagree with his positions or that you are unaware. Only wishing to bash him for being conservative?

And of course progressives never mention his extreme distaste for El Rushbo, Hannity, or Beck. Al of which I am sure you and most progressives find, well, clownish.

As to your comment with respect to worshiping someone to cultist levels... just one of many failed attempts in the bag of progressive evasion to bury reason and a proper ethical code morality.

Progressives, by trying to make it a personality thing, without ever reading the full body of Rand's work and discussing her cogent arguments simply confirms progressives are even more guilty of that which they accuse conservatives of.

The issue is reason and rationality. Progressives seem to like to keep issues on the altruistic and emotional level.

So, in the end, for progressives it is an all or nothing situation. Therefore as an independent conservative I too shall make it an all or nothing scenario.

By the way Shaw, there are time I agree with your statements. So if you would rather, in the spirit of keeping with Octo's concern, would you rather I come to your "community" and comment only when I find agreement with your positions?

Feel free to visit my sight and disagree all you like. I have no problem with that. As long as the simple straight forward policy with respect to vulgarity etc. is respected.

I am sure you understand what that means.

Les Carpenter said...

Oh, I forgot to mention his extreme distaste for O'Reilly as well.

D'marks...

I am aware there are conservatives which are better to quote.

Having said that when I find something that Savage says that tends to make some sense I use it. It is not often I quote him.

Actually I prefer to quote "classical liberals" truth be known.

(O)CT(O)PUS said...

This is the part that really galls me. Shaw posts a comment containing FIVE quotations, all well publicized accounts in support of her viewpoint.

Dmarks brings an independent and often conservative voice to this forum; sometimes in agreement, sometimes not. Whether Dmarks agrees or disagrees with any comment here is quite beside the point. His views are his own, and he generally backs up his viewpoint with examples, as demonstrated above. Whether one agrees or disagrees with Dmarks, there is “added value” in what he brings to the conversation.

In contrast, consider this word salad from Rational Nation:

… just one of many failed attempts in the bag of progressive evasion to bury reason and a proper ethical code morality.”

In other words, Rational Nation never resists the temptation to take a partisan potshot or drop empty clichés or fire nonsensical words in this serial murder of the English language: “… proper ethical code morality.” So laughable, it hurts.

So Rational Nation thinks Michael Savage is an entertainer. This was written last year:

Night after night on Fox News, under-educated former disc jockeys with scarcely a college course on their resumé expound on every conceivable topic – politics, economics, foreign affairs, energy, religion, and public morality. These bellicose, arrogant, and shameless clowns weave delusional narratives (…) When we catch them in the act of dissembling, they reflexively lash out when criticized, demonize their opponents, or feign innocence by claiming the mantle of entertainment.

Big deal, does Rational Nation have anything new to add? And here is another quote pertaining to Michael Savage:

Benny [father of Michael Savage] had a chip on his shoulder and was always mad at the world, and he was tough on Michael. There was nothing Michael could ever do to please him," recalls Alan Zaitz, who has known the radio talker since the two of them were in Hebrew school together as second-graders (…) Benny Weiner verbally abused his son and didn't hesitate to embarrass him in front of his teenage friends, Zaitz says. "Michael would have on tight black jeans and a boat-necked sweater and his dad would say, 'I don't like the way you're dressed. You look like a fag,' stuff like that," he recalls.

Now, compare this account of Michael [Savage] Weiner with the quotes provided by Shaw (above) and note the similarities in rhetoric. As the saying goes, the apple does not fall far from the tree. One wonders if the abusive voice of the father has been reincarnated in the son. Does Rational Nation still think Michael Savage is a garden-variety radio clown? Or that verbal abuse is an acceptable form of radio punditry? Yet, Rational Nation weaves empty narratives and lectures us on “proper ethical code morality.” How can any reader take this guy seriously? And why should we waste our time on him!

Rational Nation: "Feel free to visit my sight [sic] and disagree all you like"

As the late President Reagan used to say, "There you go again!" RN, I warned you about this: No Blog Whoring.

In case you don't know what "[sic]" means, it is the Latin adverb sīc, which means the quote is reproduced exactly from the original writer including the noted mistake. In this case, your mistake is in using the word "sight" when you should have used "site." Good God, man, will you get an education!
