"THE STRIDENT CLAMOR OF BAD PEOPLE"

"A Painting In The White House Depicting Obama's Racism

Is this what Obama preaches about being non-bias? Or is this what he learned by sitting in Rev. Wright's church for 20 years? As The Revvvverend Jessie Jackson says keep the racial hate alive! Or something like that. Is this what America is all about? Or is it all about having a racist President in the White House? What’s next ? Having a painting of Mexican illegal’s jumping the border on his wall? Or a painting of Dick Cheney shooting his friend at a Hunting Accident. I have a great idea, why not have a really big painting of the DRUNKEN Ted Kennedy swimming away for the drowning Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick. I’d go for that one. I’d even vote for having a painting of Obama Blaming Bush for all his woes. Or maybe a painting of Moochie Obama walking down the streets of Spain in her African costume and all the little kiddies following her just like the Pied Piper. Or a painting of Moochie on Vacation captioned "Let them eat cake""

****************

I'm not going to link to the blog that posted this pile of strident, incoherent, and illiterate pigshit. Why give the blogger more traffic.   My regular readers will guess correctly who it is.

That he or anyone else of his ilk can interpret hanging an American iconic work of art in the White House as a "racist" action on the part of President Obama illustrates how devoid of basic human decency many on the fringe have become since the election of our first bi-racial president. Only this blogger's morally depraved readers will agree with his ignorant, bilious rant.

Honorable people will see it for the tragic example of mindless bigotry that it is.

"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Do not be silent.

UPDATE:

The people visiting the above quoted blog, as well as the blog host, didn't bother to do one ounce of research on why the Rockwell painting is hanging in the White House.  The woman who is the subject of the painting, Ruby Bridges, suggested that the White House allow it to be featured there.  The commenters at that blog swallowed the blogger's lies whole--just like, I might add, those who blindly follow and believe the misinformed leaders on the right:  Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, etc.

"On Wednesday, Ruby Bridges — the now 56-year-old woman depicted in the Norman Rockwell painting "The Problem We All Live With — described to Politico's Josh Gerstein her efforts to convince President Obama to hang the painting in the White House."

If I were to point this fact out to those bigots, they'd accuse me of "blaming Bush."

Maybe without government involvement, those schools would have integrated on their own...

At least that is what the "all government is bad government" folks would like to believe.

How anyone could interpret a President putting one of our great American artists on display in the White House as racist, or race baiting, is beyond me.

Unless of course the reality of the painting makes him uncomfortable.

Sometimes to get over our past, we must confront it...

I lost all control and had to leave the idiot a comment.. I know, I know...

That's all awful. Who or what is Moochie?

I'm conservative, and I love Rockwell's work. This painting in particular more than most.

Anon,

The blogger in question lives off of bigotry, misinformation, and hate; and therefore, mistakes a painting by a patriotic American, Norman Rockwell, as something that proves Obama's racism?

Obviously the chap is not in his right ming--oh wait...he IS in his RIGHT mind.

Dave,

We know this character deals in untruths and bigotry every chance he gets.

Sue,

Try not to go there and give him any traffic, it only encourages the bigot.

dmarks,

That blogger refers to Mrs. Obama as "Moochie." He is too consumed with pride in ignorance to understand that his rant about Rockwell's painting makes him look like a demented bigot.

Bull Connor would've been proud.

Leslie, you're being too kind in your description of that blog post.

Shaw, here's a link to a great post that touches on the subject...

Yes, it is from a Christian perspective, but it will not be the Christian perspective many on the right will recognize...

Wow, Dave. That was a great article.

I guess people don't want to face the hard truths; it's easier to believe in a fantasies and do nothing than it is to face reality and work hard at righting injustices.

trying to argue with that blogger is like trying to argue with my dining room table.

Another anon, that's because he has a different understanding of language. In his world, facts are opinions, apologies are given without ever using the words "we apologize" or "we are sorry" and pointing out the obvious is blaming others.

My grade school daughter has a book on Ruby Bridges she got when she was first learning to read.

I think it is published by Scholastic Press...

It included a picture of Ruby as she looks now along with what she's up to, which my daughter thought was pretty cool. It brought the history home to the here and now so it wasn't just some event that happened a thousand years ago.

I'd just stay away from stuff like that Shaw. I comment over there sometimes, but such rightwing or leftwing provocations are designed just to make the other side's blood boil.

Time is too valuable and you're too smart to be wasting resources on such things.

BTW, I know somebody on the left who indulges in similar incitements on the left, complete with f-bombs and gleeful talk of the horrors that should be carried out on those rathcally rethuglicans.

In fact, she's commented on this blog post.

So yeah, that stuff is out there on both sides. I try to stay more towards the more reasoned material.

SF,

I took Dr. King's quote at the end of the post to heart. Hence, my reason for posting this.

But that's the end of it.

Right now I feel the way Irene is going to make the landscape in her path look.

When I read the hate-filled, illogical bullshit by that blogger, I wonder if he needs to increase or decrease his medication. Since he accuses President Obama of being racist for hanging the painting, here's a question for him:

Because the painting normally hangs in the Norman Rockwell Museum, does this mean that organization is also racist?

This does not mean, necessarily, letting down your guard and pouring your heart out about how much you love your grandmother. You have to find the right balance, and with practice you'll discover it. You should not, however, blog about anything that you wouldn't write in a business email.

You can draw inspiration from others, but make sure you instill your blog with your own personality as well!
