"Progressives need to blame someone for Obama's failures that WE call "Scandals", and they call "Conservative" propaganda so they blame the "Conservatives" after all WE Conservative are their typical targets to blame for the horseshit propaganda that they post about. I like to call it. "Liberal Fascist Horseshit" posted in Asshole Dumbasses fashion, initiated, and set in motion by their mentor Shaw.
If you noticed the RASH of Black on White murders in the news lately and SHAW hasn't said ONE word about it. No marches, no skittles and Watermelon drinks, no protests, no bans, no boycotts, no civil rights suits... funny isn't it.

I have seen and read recent reports of SO many random attacks going on by young black teens attacking WHITE people, and none mention of it on any of the Liberal blogs at all.

3 black thugs shoot down and kill Australian jogger to death in Oklahoma because they were bored!

3 more black thugs shoot down and kill a 88 year old World War 2 Veteran, in cold blood for nothing, and again NO mention of it an ANY liberal blog."

Anon,

Anyone who writes inanity like the above is too dense to understand the difference between what happened in the Martin/Zimmerman tragedy and the recent tragedies in Washington state and Oklahoma. It's not productive to explain to these dunces, they'll never get it. Remember which party they belong to, as labeled by Governor Jindal.

Also, it's hilarious to know they come here, read my blog, get p.o.'d, then express their outrage on other people's blogs.

Love this post. It remineded me of my maternal grandfather, who I did not know well. He held that he would live forever. Because he was made of atoms and matter and since you can not destroy matter that it simply changes form he would live in the cosmos forever.

Anon, a bit off topic don't you think?

But since you brought it up, following what hopefully will be a speedy trial followed by guilty verdicts on all counts the murderous thugs are lined up and summarily executed. Military style.

You put up a profoundly beautiful post of great significance (despite the tediously mediocre background music ;-), and IMMEDIATELY allow it to get bombarded with the wholly irrelevant rebarbative boilerplate currently befouling conservative as well as liberal blogs.

I don't question your right to do as you please, Ma'am. but I can't understand why you -- or any other person laying claim to intellectual integrity -- dignify IRRELEVANT, MALEVOLENT commentary with a RESPONSE.

The DELIBERATE PURPOSE of "BOILERPLATE," as I call it, is TO discourage, disparage, derail, and otherwise render honest, responsible discourse DYSFUNCTIONAL.

Why should any of us let ourselves get sucked into playing someone ELSE'S rotten game?

An understanding that The Universe -- and whatever may lie Beyond -- is an integral part of us and we an integral part of it is a THRILLING, EXHILARATING Truth that should lift us out of our worm's eye view of reality and help us realize that, despite all appearances to the contrary, WE are as SIGNIFICANT as anything else in The Great Scheme of Things.

I see this understanding of our role in the Cosmos as opening up visions of INFINITE POSSIBILITY. Though certainly awe-inspiring, there is nothing the least bit discouraging or intimidating about it.

Mr. Free Thinke, I believe it is very instructive to understand that these lunatics on the right are so besotted with what I write and even with what I DO NOT write, that they take the time to complain on AOW's and Geez's blog about it. They are disturbed individuals who probably have nothing going on in their lives and who spend inordinate amounts of time bellyaching about what I say on my own blog.

I do not comment at AOW's blog any more, and rarely at Geeez's, but for some reason the unstable folks who do comment on those blogs seem not to be able to talk about any other blogger except me. The Anonymous who posted the first comment communicated with me via email about what was posted on AOW's blog. This particular Anon is a family friend who finds it incredible that grown men and women engage in such character assassination even when I do not visit those blogs.

It's a sort of illness, I believe. And I think I have the right to know what is being said about me behind my back.

It's a cowardly thing to do, but they do it all the time.

Dr. Tyson sounds more and more like Dr. Sagan. We need many more like that.

BB-Idaho, I thought the same thing.

There is a solitude of space
A solitude of sea
A solitude of death,
But these Society shall be
Compared with that profounder site --
That polar privacy --
A soul admitted to itself --
Finite Infinity.

This slow, unearthly spell of standing
still.
Not to trade places with, or envy
those flying overhead at night, passing
in a shriek of polished and cold metal,
jostling each other in a mysterious
light.

Not to set out again. To spend each
evening
among familiar tokens, making
a barren speech before the stars.
Keeping close watch
over Time’s steps. To bring to an end
all that is loved and rare
with an unhurried hand and a shattered
heart.

(From The Countries We Live In: Selected Poems Natan Zach 1955-1979, translated, from the Hebrew, by Peter Everwine)

I never saw a moor,
I never saw the sea;
Yet know I how the heather looks,
And what a billow be.
I never spoke with God,
Nor visited in heaven;
Yet certain am I of the spot
As if the chart were given

_______ Live, My Precious _______

Living on by memory and will
I survive, because of all of you ––
Vivacious, learned, passionate and shrill ––
Eventually, your message did get through.

Meager my existence would have been
Yet freer, if I’d been allowed to drift,
Perhaps, but then I never would have seen
Rare treasures that ennoble and uplift.

Ecstatic moments live within the mind.
Cherished and revered these ideal states
Imbue with standards lofty yet so kind
Our hearts, and so a way to joy relates.

Unless we labor under Truth’s constraints,
Sagacity our lives forever taints.
