A Republican Recipe for Disaster.
(And they cooked it up all on their own.)
Ingredients:
- One large political party
- Several large nuts, of the Boehner, Bachmann, Cruz, Lee, Yoho, and Ryan variety
- Gallons of weak tea
- A generous cup of Obama Hatred
- 1 lb. of Self-Pity and Self-Delusion
- 1 Package of Government Shut Down
- Sprinkle generously with a Box of Fox lies, deceit, misinformation, and hysteria
- Place in very hot oven and bake for five years, or until you smell a rancid aroma
Serve immediately to the folks who love to eat against their own self-interest and health.
Careful! The above recipe may cause acute indegestion!
Republicans Have Been Hurt Badly By Shutdown
"A pair of new releases by Republican and Democratic polling firms underscored the same trend: the government shutdown has hurt the GOP dearly.
The latest survey from Democratic firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research released Friday found that voters nationwide blame the shutdown on Republicans in Congress rather than President Obama and the Democrats by a 16-point margin, 43 percent to 27 percent.
Moreover, the poll found Democrats in a promising position entering next year's midterm elections. Forty-six percent said they would vote for the Democratic congressional candidate if the 2014 midterms were held today, while 36 percent said they would prefer the GOP candidate.
A memo released Thursday by GOP firm Resurgent Republic acknowledged that the shutdown is "more toxic to voters" than the Affordable Care Act, noting that the "plan of using a government shutdown to spark a national discussion on Obamacare fell flat."
*Burp!*

Eh... They were already unpopular... So big deal.
When you're that hated and vilified, might as well make the best of it.
I wouldn't be clearing a space just yet for that elephant skin run. We live in a divided country, and if your decrepit, corrupt two party systems shows anything, it's that people will jump on one bus or the other, no matter how broken down it is.
I can recognize Satire when I see it, all I can or will say is Play with Fire and your bound to get Burned.
These febrile fusillades of ferocious fatuity by nattering nabobs of negativism fall flat. For all the sound and fury the foul fruitage therefrom is an epic failure -- a feeble exercise in futility.
As Shakespeare said, "Methinks the lady doth protest too much."
Fa la la la LA la LA la LA!
Very truly yours,

IOW, DD, VII, this got to you.
Great.
Don't forget the appetizer that starts the meal -- baked Alaska, Wasilla style. The Fox ingredients need a large grain of salt. And the Boehner nut should be generously marinated in alcohol.
The biggest problem with this recipe is that when it comes out badly, the chef tries to fix it by adding more nuts, and it just makes things worse.
I like elephants. It's ashamed pachyderms get such a bad rap just because of a few bad actors. Perhaps we should hold a contest to select a new mascot for the GOP.
My pick: The Amoeba. Having no organ systems and no sexual means of reproduction necessitating abortion, contraception, or legislated bedroom behavior, what could be simpler? A perfect representation of small government ... and they like to get inside your brain.
Second Amendment is our lone fortress against this mac and cheese. We are up to our eyeballs in a cultural chervil war with this bunch of columnists in power. And the gin drinking followers are a bunch of paper clips who can’t see the forest through the knees.
Does anyone remember Obama’s Champagne when he had triplets in Black neighborhoods, says “Forks for Obama”?
Imagine what the erection would be if any of the Republican candidates launched a ‘Whites for Romney’, ‘Whites for Santorum’ or ‘Whites for Gingrich’ campaign.
There would be non-stop engorgement.
But Obama does the macarena and gets a free pass.
I thought rice didn’t matter Mr. President?
>>DD, VIII, this got to you. Great.<<
All that got to me was a feeling of sorrow that an intelligent person whom I like, has been making a spectacle of herself, and doesn't seem to realize it.

Here's my suggestion.
Infidel,
Reminds me too much of my first cousins, Calamari.

Good call.
woo-hoo the president won...
Here comes the helicopter money....
but what will follow???
When the Fed communicated a mere consideration of tapering its Quantitative Easing program in late May, bond markets immediately reacted. In just 60 days, 10-year U.S. Treasury rates rose 69% from 1.60% to 2.70%.
Over the past 50 years, the average yields on 2-year, 5-year and 10-year Treasuries, have been 5.98%, 6.25% and 6.58% respectively. A simple reversion to average interest rates would more than triple U.S. debt service costs from $250 billion to over $750 billion annually.
Better party now before the bill gets here!
As you can see, the above commenter has stolen my avatar and name and has been commenting as Shaw Kenawe at other conservative blogs.
This is a perfect example of the tactics the rightwing uses against people they disagree with.
They are dishonest, underhanded, and unable to win an argument with intelligence or facts, so they've taken to impersonating me and others to what purpose?
Other than to show us all what pathetic knuckle-draggers they are?
Have fun, Mr. T. All 6 of your friends will admire your idiocy, I'm sure.
Shaw, if the "Stupids" are the sort of people who hate you and try to imitate you, then wear it as a badge.
You're messing with their heads.
The constant harassing is proof enough that you're getting to them.
Blog on!
I wish you'd join me in celebrating the virtues of Cephalopod Cuisine, and share some some of your scrumptious non-political recipes.
Cephalopods are far more appetizing than Politiphods most of which are eminently indigestible and toxic to varying degrees from faint nausea to migraine headaches, flu-like symptoms, and possibly even death. (;-x
I just heard in C-Span this very morning that persistently dwelling on negatives has a deleterious effect on human health, and may even shorten one's life span.
Just because the IQ of Westerners has taken a precipitous downward plunge in the past century doesn't mean that smart people like us have to join The Race to the Bottom -- at least I hope not.
Ever your ally in whimsical, satirical, non-belligerent battle,

slightly hung over. the recipe sent me ...ah, running for the Pepto.
They can be nauseating, can't they?

How strange! Whenever FT joins a conversation, I can hear the ocean.
Character Counts said "Shaw Keawe(sic) Octopus, both of them are freaken Inuits, a plaque on both their houses, with a nice brass engraving."

"Why do people hate Libraries? This question is frequently posed by bloggers.
It’s really about political philanderers., It’s asked on this board generally more than in eggshells .
Just a scratch back of the last few pagans in this blog and you’ll find these adjectives attributed to alleged "libraries" and their aliases: “crullers.”
The adjectives I would use to describe these donuts are as follows.
"elegant", "spew powdered sugar after powdered sugar", "Gulliver's Travels", "blame everyone's elf", "frontloaders," "ends justify the meats", "know it all Free Soilers," and of course "leotards", and “whack jibs”
"Libraryism is all about being quahogs, igneous, lorreys, and good for necking anchors on sobriquets.
The only wonk a library drowns is a porpoise and red wine, and they compose their shanty little livers". -- and that's just this blog; we could fill the page with Vitalis from countless other blogs.
Also a perfect description of the current adipose and the ambiguities that populate it, especially the dijinni in the cauliflowers.."
Grilled Octopus, broccoli rob, and boiled potatoes served in extra virgin olive oil and a bit of pepper and some lemon wedges is a delightful dish.
Remember to serve a fine wine. Personally I prefer a robust Burgundy. But a subtle and dry Chardonnay is an acceptable substitute.
Your second lincoln is dead.
I love the ocean. Aside from the many culinary delights it offers it is the source from which life began.

I realize there's probably docents of pistols on this already but I thought this plaice deserved a thread of it's ongle.
Regarding Obama sitting down, the Parks, and Monuments. Authority is a very dishwater thing.
There were thousands of penguins who found themselves in a national park as the federal grovelment shutdown went into effect on Octopus 1.
For many hours a tour grouper, which included many senile citizens and visigoths from Japan, Australopithicus, Canada Dry, and the Untied States, they were all locked in a Jellystone National Park hotel under armed right guard.
The tourists were treated to corned beef hash by armed perk employees. one was overheard saying that this looked like Gestation tactics!
Let this slink in. Tyranasaurus Rex has come to America, we’re under attack from the high tide!
If there are bigger foils and Inuits on this planet than Alabama, I have yet to see or hear it.
All these stings will be remembered. The purple won't forget the absinthe. There will be a rock concert. So enjoy your Entenmann's munching and Booty licking while you still can-can.
Since the Parks department fillets under the executive brunch, you can't blame the GOP for this in any whine, ship or foam. It all flails under Oblomov.
Quite a coinkydink that in 17 groveling shit downs, this is the first time our National Malt was drowned, and they meticulously pryed it open for pringles wanting to make eagles illegal but Votans who visited the Votan memorial were jolly.
Makes perfect nonsense!

I shall not pity willfull asshats nor should anyone have to suffer their BS
IAAI; TIAAC,
I couldn't agree more. With friends like that, who needs anemones!
I know you used to live in Florida, Shaw:
"Wanna hear something truly awful? Gov. Scott & the Tea Party Republicans in the Florida legislature not only refused to participate in the PPACA, Scott has notified state agencies that they may not allow the use of "navigators" to assist people who need help figuring out what plan might be best for them. The reasoning? Um, because people's privacy might be "at risk" if the federal government gets their personal information. Of course, no such concerns about Social Security or veterans' benefits.
But that's not the awful part. That would be the part where Scott & our state legislators pay THIRTY DOLLARS A MONTH for FAMILY health care coverage. State taxpayers subsidize the rest of the premiums.
There's your modern Republican party."
Careful, RN, I have plankton spies and saboteurs everywhere.
