Another Mass Shooting in San Bernadino, California

Latest count:  14 dead and 14 wounded at a special needs facility.

Suspects apprehended: One dead, one or two captured. Unconfirmed.

In the midst of the San Bernardino mass shooting that killed at least 14 people and injured at least 14 more, we have reports of another shooting death.

This one is at another medical facility, Clinica Hispana, which is a women’s clinic in Houston, Texas. Houston police have confirmed one death but have not confirmed if the dead is a victim or suspect.

Local ABC13 reported that the Houston police are investigating a shooting death outside of Clinica Hispana: HPD homicide detectives are at the Clinica Hispana at 8410 Fondren.

A police source says there was a shooting, and two people have been detained. Police have set up a large perimeter in the parking lot of the strip center as they investigate.

I am not sure I can take it.

Here are the questions I need answered.

1. Why does this continue to happen here in the United States and not in other countries?

2. Liberals want stronger gun control on a national, consistent level. That is one suggestion. What suggestion do conservatives have for stopping these shootings on a national level?

Dave, visit any of the regular right wing blogs and you'll see none of them see this as a problem. They see anything, even a background check to keep firearms out of the hands of mentally ill people, as government intrusion on their sacred 2nd Amendment rights.

They're too immersed in their gun culture to see how insane this country has become. President Obama is correct when he says we're the only country -- the only advanced western country-- that has mass killings on a regular basis. Two within one week. Both on health facilities.

We are a divided nation, that is true. But I will state that one half of it cares more about allowing any person, crazy or sane, to own as many guns and ammunition as he or she wants. We will see more and more of these massacres because of those insane people who believe there should be no constraints on the 2nd Amendment.

Meanwhile, those same people soil their undies thinking about jihadists coming here and killing us, when our own countrymen are doing that very thing.

I have a question for Marco Rubio.

He stated that 911 and Paris was part of God's bigger plan for the universe and that his ways are not our ways.

Does he also believe the mass murders are part of God's larger plan for our country as well?

As a fiscal conservative with liberal social leanings it frost me that republicans and conservatives offer nothing. I have posted views that support firearm ownership as well as advocating national uniform effective regulation, including background checks and more. Conservative and libertarians have criticized without offering any workable alternatives.

From the Los Angeles Times:

"A senior federal official who is monitoring the case said investigators believe one of the shooters left the party after getting into an argument and returned with one or two armed companions.

The shooting took place in a large conference room on the grounds of the Inland Regional Center, which serves people with developmental disabilities in Riverside and San Bernardino counties."

The shooter had an Islamic name.

Well clearly, RN, the Teabag God is using the Paris shooting to remind us to keep those Muslims under our thumb.

I'm not sure how shooting a bunch of social workers and aides at a resource center fits into the plan.
You may have to wait for Ben Carson to make a statement.

First question: Anonymous, did you run around to blogs telling everyone what kind of name Richard Lewis Dear had?

Second question: Are you really that stupid?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Ducky and RN,

Read Anonymous @8:14 comment.

It's terrorism only when an Islamic name is involved to the cretin who wrote that.

Dave Miller said...

What exactly is an Islamic name? And if you can characterize names as such, what kind of names are Les, Lisa, Mal, Susan, Dave and maybe Anon?

What is considered a mass shooting? More than one person?

Dave Miller said...

Anon at 5:14 PST... what is your source anyways? No names have yet to be released...

Anon, @9:06, A mass shooting is when 4 or more people are shot.

Dave, I heard the name Saed Farouk on CNN but nothing on how that name is connected to the massacre.

Anon @9:10. The duck so far is a massacre. That's all we know for a fact.

Its spelled Sayed Farook and his father told the Washington Post his son was a devout muslim...... quack, quack

That's good Anon...

Now, how about my other questions regarding solutions, or do you only care to complain and snipe?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Richard Lewis Dear was an evangelical Christian who, said his ex-wife, believed he could do anything bad then ask Jesus for forgiveness and be saved.

Farook and Malik were Muslims?

IF so, we now have more sickening proof of how dangerous fanatical, crazed religionists, Christian AND Muslim, are.

"Quaaa, quaaa, quaaa"

THe trolls couldn't get here fast enough to point out that the shooters in California have Muslim names. But they're still silent about the Christian mass murderer in Colorado. Shaw's right, rabid religionists are the problem no matter what the problem is. But it stinks of tribalism to see the loonies on the right concerned only when Muslim-named killers do their dirty deed. Hypocrisy is the food the rabid right feast on.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave, people like the Anonymous troll have no solutions. They're interested only in scoring political points over the dead bodies of men, women, and children. I let the comments through only to illustrate how devoid of human decency people like Anonymous, who left the comments about the killers' religion are. I'll give you three guesses on which blog they came from.

Anonymous Reader of TeaPublican Blogs said...

The usual bigots on the right wing blogs are all over this story because MUSLIMS! But they were silent on the Colorado killer because CHRISTIAN! Their racism and bigotry is so transparent. But by Sunday they'll all be invoking Jesus and telling their friends what godly people they are.

Thanks for that Gun TV link, RN. We are truly in the final days of empire. Makes me glad I'm old.

Stupid things Conservatives say said...

All we need to know about the bigots on the right is that they were all but silent about the Christian terrorist in Colorado, but are howling like wolves over the Muslim terrorists. Why do you suppose that is?

I hate to believe that for that group of creeps Christian terrorism is acceptable but when Muslims act like their Christian counterparts, it's DIDDINDADDY!

Their racism is disgusting. Look at the idiot they're supporting for the nomination for the presidency. That tells the rest of the civilized world all we need to know about these people.

Robert D. said...

One particularly nasty raging dwarf used to comment here, Shaw. He's calling for another "Final Solution" for all Muslims.

Between that repulsive idea and Donald Trump saying he'd kill the families of Muslims who commit crimes, (that would mean pregnant women, infants, children, grandparents, and all other adults) we'd have ourselves a nice little totalitarian country --it's what the right wingers seem to long for.

It is interesting to note that the Richard Lewis Dear murders of a week ago didn't set off the sort of hellish rhetoric we're reading on the Tea Party blogs. Innocent people are dead, whether a Christian or a Muslim is the killer. But for the Republican Tea Party trogs, it's only when a Muslim commits an atrocity that we should all lose our minds and call for their extermination.

This is a dreadful time for our country made all the more nauseating by the calls for Nazi tactics by people on the right.

Here's what we know so far:

San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said [Sayed] Farook was an environmental specialist with the San Bernardino health department who sometimes worked at the Inland Regional Center.

Farook angrily left an office holiday party earlier Wednesday before returning with Malik, said Burguan.

The police chief said police were on the scene within four minutes of the initial 911 call being placed. At first police believed there were “upwards of three shooters,” Burguan said. It wasn't until much later in the day that they changed that to two.

About four hours after the morning carnage, police hunting for the killers riddled a black SUV with gunfire in a shootout 2 miles from the social services center. Farook and Malik were found with assault rifles and semi-automatic handguns, and were wearing “assault-style clothing” with ammunition attached, authorities said.

Authorities are examining possible motives. David Bowdich, assistant director of the FBI's field office in Los Angeles, says one possibility is workplace violence and another is “terrorism.”

At a late-night press conference, Burguan said “based upon what we have seen and based upon how they were equipped, there had to be some degree of planning that went into this. I don't think they just ran home, put on these types of tactical clothes, grabbed guns and came back on a spur of the moment thing.”

No one knows what the motive was as yet.

Has anyone pointed out to the maniacs who want to deport all the Muslims in this country that the two killers yesterday were American citizens?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Rusty, Farook was an American citizen, his wife was not.
