While pointing out the evidence that most Christians in this country are no more ‘religious’ than Muslims (I was at a party last weekend watching porn with Christians) and no more a danger, I agree that there are segments that purposely start trouble and do things to provoke responses from people so they can dogpile and condemn them, all with the goal of shaming people into shutting up and not saying anything, like Dear's wife who knew he was a fanatical Christian nut with murderous ideas but didn’t report it.

At Thursday’s press conference, however, rhe FBI’s David Bowdich would not say that terrorism was a motivation for the attack. The investigation, he said, was just beginning.
“I’d much rather be slower and correct than fast and incorrect,” he said.

As authorities continue to probe the motivation for the attack, some noted that Farook had been involved in a workplace dispute at the Inland Center, where a holiday party for his department was occurring. The nature of that dispute has not been revealed, but Farook reportedly stormed out in anger before returning later with his wife, both dressed in tactical armor and donning assault rifles.

“I have no idea why he would he do something like this. I have absolutely no idea,” his brother, Farhan Khan, told reporters on Wednesday. “I am in shock myself.”

You so badly want it to be something other then what it really is. Just accept the fact Farook and his wife were radicalized Muslim's.They had a bomb factory and thousands of rounds of ammo.

Stop trying to make custard out of mustard.

Here are the names of America's mass murderers going back to 1984:

Richard Lewis Dear, Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer, Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, Dylann Storm Roof, Elliot Rodger, Ivan Lopez Aaron Alexis, John Zawahri,Adam Lanza, Radcliffe Haughton, Andrew Engeldinger, Wade Michael Page, James Holmes, One L. Goh, Scott Dekraai, Jared Lee Loughner, Omar S. Thornton, Amy Bishop, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan,Jiverly Voong, Steven Kazmierczak, Robert Hawkins, Seung-hui Cho, Sulejman Talovic, Charles Carl Roberts IV, Jennifer San Marco, Jeffrey Weise, Doug Williams, Charles Andrew Williams, Michael McDermott, Byran Uyesugi, Larry Gene Ashbrook, Mark Orrin Barton, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Golden, Colin Ferguson, Gian Luigi Ferri, Eric Houston, Gang Lu, George Jo Hennard, James E. Pough, Patrick Edward Purdy, Patrick H. Sherrill, James Oliver Huberty.

The mass murderers who were Muslims are in bold.

Now you tell me, Anon, what I want it to be so badly. It is apparent from the above evidence that it is YOU and your ilk that want everyone to believe we have a mass shooting, murdering Muslim problem, when it so clearly not true.

SOURCE

The facts are that America has a MALE problem where mass shootings are concerned.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Oh, excuse me. I didn't include the latest shooters: Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik

Six of the 48 mass shooters were Muslims and 3 out of the 48 mass shooters were female. Again, we don't have a mass shooter Muslim problem, we have a MALE mass shooter problem and easy access to guns by mentally unstable males.

Anonymous said...

After all, seems it was a terrorist attack on American soil.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Richard Lewis Dear, Syed Rizwan Farook, and Tashfeen Malik all committed a terrorist attacks on American soil. As did Dylann Roof and the numerous other American males and females who committed mass murders on innocent Americans.

Flying Junior said...

Since we don't really know the evidence yet, I guess it would be splitting hairs whether or not these two are radicalized muslims.

But here is the scary part. Since, the media and the politicians hardly bat an eye after each mass murder, it makes some pretty damn good cover for a jihadist/ISIS guy. It's going to take some time to change our lax gun laws. Unless we actually elect Hillary and have some type of democratic epiphany/landslide in congress, nothing is going to change quickly enough to protect us. We will have to wait until another September 11th before there will be any political will... Unfettered access to social media, weapons and ammunition. Fill in the blank. I think the bad guys finally figured out a way to cross the pond.

What I mean to say is nobody would ever question a mass murderer who bought ten guns and thousand of rounds of ammunition, would they? Constitutional right and all.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The jihadists and the crazies with murder in their hearts have our Congress (some Dems and all Repubs) to thank for the ease in which they can slaughter Americans:

"Republicans block vote to prevent people on watch list to buy guns and they wrote a law that was signed by congress stating that no federal money can be used to fund research on gun violence."

Our lawmakers WANT terrorists to be able to stockpile guns, ammo, and the means to make bombs so that more Americans will die. That's our American Congress at work.

Shaw Kenawe said...

How did your senator vote for background check.

92% of Americans are in favor of background checks. Almost every single Republican voted AGAINST background checks. Almost every Republican and a very few Democrats are in the NRA's pocket.

Your American Congress at work.

Jerry Critter said...

The American congress has American blood on its hands.

skudrunner said...

Just because they came back armed with IED's we still don't know if this was a terrorist act or workplace violence.
They could have been mad because the Christmas tree was not bigger.
We need to get control of this workplace violence

Shaw Kenawe said...

Will you ever contribute anything other than juvenile snark when you come here, skudrunner?

Are you angry because this blog doesn't condemn all Muslims? It won't. It will condemn people who commit mass murders, whether they're Christians, like Robert Lewis Dear or Muslims like Sayed Farook and his wife.

We don't know all the facts yet, except more Americans have been slaughtered in a country that has allowed the NRA to hold their Congressional representatives by their worthless gonads --even buying them off to make them vote against stopping the sale of firearms to people on the terrorist watch list, felons, and the mentally ill. They've even convinced the gonadless Republicans to not allow RESEARCH into firearm death. Research into firearms deaths is against the law, thanks to the criminal NRA.

And all you have to offer is snark about a Christmas tree? No wonder the TGOP is seen as a feckless, craven party, whose leading candidate is the embodiment of everything crass, arrogant, and narcissistic in this country.

I can't think of a better embarrassment to represent the TGOP.

If more guns make us safe and an armed society is a polite society, why does America have the worst death by firearms record on the planet? And what was polite about the guy in Georgia who shot and killed a waitress because she asked him to put out the cigarette he was smoking in the no smoking restaurant? An armed society is a deadly society.

The NRA has sold the American people and their cowards in Congress a big, bloody lie.

We are stupid country.

Shaw, I'm good on senators and governor. My representative needs an upgrade, tho. Thanks for the Paul Ryan image which I've co-opted.

and here in Middle Earth, Senator Dummy from Wisconsin opposes any gun regulation, including one that would prohibit those on 'no fly' lists from buying guns.

“Then the next question is, well, if you’re going to enact this solution, which would deprive people of constitutional rights, is that a very good thing to do?”

Battle lines have been drawn. Opposing rhetorical armies and activists are active. They lob verbal grenades and rapid fire mortar rounds at each other. Special interest groups, we all know who they are, pour fuel on the raging fire. Nothing happens, more round.

Innocent lives continue to be lost.

Who's accountable? Where to begin? THE AMERICAN ELECTORATE PERHAPS...?.

Although gun registration sounds like a great idea, it is just a political talking point.
I am sure you know the guns used by these committers of workplace violence were purchased legally. Not sure about the IED's. When was the last time BHO said anything about more funds for mental health. It is not as popular as attacking gun owners so we will stay with gun registration because it is more of a rally point.

My suggestion David is enforce the laws we have instead of coming up with new ones to ignore.

Shaw Kenawe said...

A new law would be no sale of firearms to people on the terrorist watch and no sale of firearms to felons and mentally ill people. You're against that? In some states felons are not allowed to vote, but apparently lots of folks think it's just fine to let felons own guns.if that isn't the definition of insanity, then there is no meaning to that word. Leave the president out of your snark. Every state regulates its own gun laws, and the NRA regulates Republican and a few Democratic lawmakers. But for The professional Obama haters, it's easy to place the blame everywhere but on themselves.

So anyone who doesn't think gun control will stop these killings, is an Obama hater?"

Where is that stated on this blog?

Answer: NOWHERE.

Smarter trolls, please.

Dave Miller said...

Anon and Skud... I am not sure I have a solution. I've said before, whatever it is will need to be a national based solution to work and gave consistency.

However, I don't think we can get anything like that passed. Skud, you know the GOP will never support spending on mental health solutions nationally, so while I think that may help, it's a non starter.

Us libs have proposed stronger gun laws, nationally. Conservatives say it won't work. Okay, what's your solution. Or are there none? A real possibility...

Jerry Critter said...

So skud, my friend, just what gun laws are you talking about?

Shelly said...

Better gun laws and regulations will help curb some of the street gun violence and death all over the country.
No amount of gun laws and regulations will stop the nut jobs from killing.

skudrunner said...

How do we know more spending on mental health won't pass, hasn't been tried.
We do know gun laws don't work, ask the people in NYC and Chicago.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Shelly: "No amount of gun laws and regulations will stop the nut jobs from killing."

Then why have any laws for anything? Laws against stealing don't stop all thieves? Laws against rape don't stop all rapists, laws against animal abuse don't stop all animal abusers.

Than there's this:

Did gun control work in Australia?

So what have the Australian laws actually done for homicide and suicide rates? Howard cites a study (pdf) by Andrew Leigh of Australian National University and Christine Neill of Wilfrid Laurier University finding that the firearm homicide rate fell by 59 percent, and the firearm suicide rate fell by 65 percent, in the decade after the law was introduced, without a parallel increase in non-firearm homicides and suicides. That provides strong circumstantial evidence for the law's effectiveness.

Shaw Kenawe said...

And for Shelly and Skud, there is enough evidence to show that stricter gun control laws DO work.

The states with the weakest gun control laws have the MOST firearms deaths (homicides and suicides).

The state with the strictest gun control laws have the LEAST firearms deaths (homicides and suicides).

The States With The Most Gun Laws See The Fewest Gun-Related Deaths

I don't understand why so many GOPers are willfully blind to those facts.

Dave Miller said...

Skud, I did say more $$$ for mental health would not work. I said it would never pass, most likely because the GOP will not fund it sufficiently on s national level.

It could indeed work, if funded...

Les Carpenter said...

Stating the obvious here but:

We are a unified nation of 50 individual states united by or constitution.

Our firearm laws are state centric. Evidence clearly demonstrates states with the most effective laws experience fewer firearm related deaths.

Logic tells us states with more lax and ineffective firearm laws, and consequently higher firearm related deaths, ought to adopt laws of states with fewer deaths by firearms.

Or:

The US Congress should pass a uniform national firearm regulatory code based in the experience of the states with the MOST EFFECTIVE firearm laws that result in the least firearm deaths. Experience speaks loudly for itself.

Biggest roadblock to common sense? NRA and Firearm Lobby.

America is a stupid nation and we elect stupid people who allow organizations like the NRA to essentially set national policy based solely on special interests and a 2'nd amendment written when times and society were vastly different.

But:

Apparently the more things change the more they stay the same. For sure when it comes to firearms and the control of same.

And the beat goes on...

okjimm said...

Skud said..."guns used by these committers of workplace violence were purchased legally. Not sure about the IED's."

gees....I'm pretty sure the IEDs were purchased legally, too. IEDs-R-US.
Statements with that kind of speculation belies any claim you may have of intelligence.

Shelly (or is it the old troll, Seth?)

This was not directed at you, it is a genralization, but for some reason (A little too close to the truth?) you assumed I was referring to you:

"I don't understand why so many GOPers are willfully blind to those facts."

Get lost Seth/Shelly. You're a trouble-seeking, narcissistic troll who thinks any negative remark is about YOU. It isn't, you're not that important. And THAT, Shelly/Seth can be construed as a REAL insult, not your imagined one.

Buh-Bye, and have a nice day.

Jerry Critter said...

What laws would have stopped these two killers is a nonsensical question. There is no answer. That does not mean there should be no gun laws. As has been state before, the stricter the gun laws ,the less killing and mayhem. The purpose of laws is to change behavior of a segment of society, but a particular individual.
