YOUR DAILY REMINDER

Also, a reminder of this:

So-called President Donald Trump is unfit for office, isn't level-headed, and should stop tweeting, a majority of voters said in a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday.

Overall, 56% of voters say Trump is not fit to serve as president.

Trump's disapproval rating is 57%, with only 36% of voters approving of the job he's doing amid his administration's response to the devastation in Puerto Rico and his party's failure to pass legislation repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.

As we continue to wait it out.

It really is starting to look like His Fakeness will be on the ballot again in 2020. Efforts are better spent A) identifying and preparing candidates at local and state levels for 2020, B) putting a national agenda together that is both comprehensive and realistic, C) grooming an individual for a 2020 race that has the ability to unite independents and democrats behind a common cause (must have charisma and ability to connect with a broad base), D) avoid the self destructive tendencies that seem more common than not in the Democratic party these days.

Don't hold your breath.

Les... regarding point D...

Look no further than a Cambridge librarian rejecting a gift of books from FLOTUS that included Dr Suess selections with this comment... "You may not be aware of this, but Dr Seuss is a bit of a cliche, a tired and worn ambassador for children’s literature,” she wrote, adding that “another fact that many people are unaware of is that Dr Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes”.

With progressives like this, the political ads just write themselves.

Dave, I agree that the librarian was rude and ridiculous in her attack on the books given by FLOTUS.

In our age of instant reporting on everything that could be seen as a slight to a Dem or a Repub, we're being swamped with outrage every day. That's unfortunate because the REAL outrages get lumped into the petty ones.

My idea of a REAL outrage and embarrassment to our democracy is the fact that Roy Moore will be elected to the US Senate -- he believes homosexual conduct should be illegal; he believes Evolution is "fake," and that 9/11 was God's punishment on America for legalizing "sodomy," and abortion. IOW, he's today's "normal" republican: Anti-science, homophobic, Talabanic in his religious zeal, and superstitious as a Troglodyte.

That's what we should be outraged at. Roy Moore has the same mindset as the extremist Muslims who live in Saudi Arabia and he's going to bring that mentality to the U.S. Senate.

How delightful.
Maybe Scott Pruitt is next.

Steven Covet, Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

It seems more ignore this wise advice than accept it. Hence what we have today, what we had yesterday, and what we will probably have tomorrow, ad infinitum.

I've often wondered what the nation's emotional intelligence quotient would be if it could be measured. My bet? Extremely low.

Shaw... you hit on something. People looking for the moderate GOP keep saying the party is not extreme. But the fact is, real facts, not the false or alternative one you see on some blogs, the majority of the GOP is the party of Roy Moore. They are extreme. Period.

Not one leader of the Republican Party has called Trump out publicly for mocking John McCain, a man who endured extra torture just so his fellow prisoners could go home first. How's that for honor?

But that's not an exception. The GOP lied about McCain in the 2000 primaries so they could elect Bush. They lied during the 2002 elections smearing another American hero Max Cleland. And to date, no one has ever said they were wrong about those events or treated hero badly.

Think about this for a minute. Mitch McConnell, is not extreme enough for the crowd leading that party now. His candidate lost and he can't pass any legislation, 'cause he's not extreme enough. Mitch "No Supreme Court Justice" McConnell.

The election of Moore seals the deal. The party of Lincoln, Rockefeller, Reagan and honorable men like James and Howard Baker is dead and in its place is the party of Trump. A lying, truth challenged governmental neophyte who knows nothing about bringing America together.

Ducky... given that most of these guys are C level talent, if all the private jet flyers, including Pruitt and Zinke end up leaving, who is gonna take their place in the cabinet? Let's not forget that Trump ran on his ability to evaluate talent and it seems he just might be a little lacking.
