Can someone explain to me why...

this isn't considered high crimes and misdemeanors, or malfeasance  of office?

Trump told the head of the Customs and Border Protection agency to break the law and then assured that agent that he'll pardon him if he goes to jail for breaking the law?

And while you're at it, can someone tell me why the "law and order" Goopers aren't appalled at this law-breaking POTUS?

Also, imagine what the Goopers would be doing right now if they learned Barack Obama (or any other president) told someone who works for him to break the law and not to worry because he'll pardon that felon.

That's where we are with this miserable liar, cheat, and fraud.

Trump told CBP head he'd pardon him if he were sent to jail for violating immigration law

Now it would seem, if this can be proved, that it in fact does rise to the level of a high crime and/or misdemeanor. At the very least, it shows contempt for the the rule of law. Interesting that the CPB officer did not take Trump up on his offer, knowing full well, Trump would never come through.

Republicans believe that other republicans, particularly rich, white ones, are above the law!

There is no win in this situation. The democratic politicians beak the law willingly bu allowing their cities to become statuary cities and not cooperate with federal law enforcement. Now trump says you want the people who cross te border illegally you can have them. Now Newsom and madam pelosi are up in arms over this gesture. They never herd watch what you ask for because you may get it.
I am all for developing comprehensive immigration policy but it won't happen because the politicians have no desire to handle tough subjects . Why is it my responsibility to spend my money supporting people who commit a crime by entering the country illegally. Let the cities that want them take them

skud, migrants who are seeking asylum are not breaking any laws. You and Trump are confused about this.

Jerry Critter said...

skud, please inform us. What laws are the cities breaking.

Skud is correct... we are in a no win situation. The GOP is backing Trump and his call to build a wall. That does nothing to deal with the crises we find ourselves in today at the border. A wall will do nothing for years, if then.

The Dems refuse to say publicly that people here without papers have no right to be here and offer no solutions or calls to see illegal immigration stopped.

And neither side is choosing to put forth a passable plan to deal with the millions of people already here.

In his statements that the system is totally broke, Trump is 100% correct.

Ms Shaw, Seeking asylum is different than entering the country illegally, I hope you see that.
JC I guess cities should be able to do whatever they want regardless of what federal law is. ICE is a federal agency and for corrupt politicians, guess that describes all of them, to say you don't have to cooperate with a federal agency that is breaking the law. I am waiting for a city to tell is citizens they do not have to pay any tax they object to even federal and I am there.

I do favor letting all people crossing the border in and move them immediately to one of the sanctuary cities where the local citizens can feed, cloth and provide medical care without any federal assistance. .

Yes Dave. And once again the solution will likely be to, kick the can down the road. AGAIN...

The first step on immigration is to follow the existing law. Most people coming to our southern border are seeking asylum, a legal process. Start by following the legal process instead of separating children from their parents and putting them in cages!

skud, show me where in the federal law that it says not cooperating with federal immigration officials is illegal?

skudrunner said...

Jerry, I know this will go way over your head but someone can explain it to you. It is in fact illegal to house children who have not committed a crime to be housed with adults who have.
Maybe if our elected elite will acknowledged we have a illegal immigration problem and need to do something about it this won't happen. Look how many homeless and underprivileged those billions spend could help.
I don't want to pay for their upkeep so let Nancy and the other leftists foot the bill, maybe send fifty thousand to Boston just to show some diversity.

skud, In other words, there is no federal law saying that not cooperating with federal immigration officials is illegal, which is what I asked you about!
