Trump encourages people who feel ill to go to work.

The GOP's idiot preznit:

Running roughshod over the advice of trained medical professionals and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, President Donald Trump Wednesday night suggested to millions of Fox News viewers that people infected with coronavirus could still go to work and recover, comments that were immediately condemned as irresponsible and dangerous.

"A lot of people will have this and it's very mild. They'll get better very rapidly," Trump told Fox's Sean Hannity. "They don't even see a doctor, they don't even call a doctor. You never hear about those people."

Conclusion. CDC estimates that influenza was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018–2019 influenza season.

For example, total flu-related deaths during 2017-2018 was previously estimated to be 79,000, but the current estimate is 61,000)

Where is all the media hysteria about the flu. Could it be that they can blame trump for the latest virus. If you took the time to look at who has died from the coronavirus you will see it is the same demographic as those who die from the flu. Now we have the media creating a panic because that means ratings. There sure are a lot of people who are panicking for the next black plague.

skud, old friend, if you don't know the difference between Covid-19 and the seasonal flu, it may be because you're a Trumper. SAD!

But if you don't want to educate yourself, we'll do it for you:

"[S]cientists have studied seasonal flu for decades. So, despite the danger of it, we know a lot about flu viruses and what to expect each season. In contrast, very little is known about the new coronavirus and the disease it causes, dubbed COVID-19, because it's so new. This means COVID-19 is something of a wild card in terms of how far it will spread and how many deaths it will cause.

"Despite the morbidity and mortality with influenza, there's a certainty … of seasonal flu," Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in a White House press conference on Jan. 31. "I can tell you all, guaranteed, that as we get into March and April, the flu cases are going to go down. You could predict pretty accurately what the range of the mortality is and the hospitalizations [will be]," Fauci said. "The issue now with [COVID-19] is that there's a lot of unknowns."

skud apparently prefers the "education" he gets from FAUX News, Rush Limbaugh, Judge Judy, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, and of course America's Greatest Demogogoue Donald J. (Dotard) Trump, the ignoramt lying half wit that managed to stumble his way into the White House on the backs of gullible uninformed sheeple.

Ms Shaw, Educate myself on what. That 60K people die from the flu every year and the press sleeps through it but a virus that has killed a fraction of that amount has the whole world in standstill because the press has nothing better to report on. Once the impeachment hearings were over the sky is falling virus gets front page news.
Sure take precautions the same as you would for the flu. California declares a state of emergency because a couple have died.
Now that the media induced panic of the virus trump is having to fight for air time.

skud, do you even bother to LISTEN to the medical scientists and doctors that actually KNOW what they are talking about? Or do you just soak up whatever Dotard belches from his maw.

Appearing on Channel 4 in the UK a couple of days ago, Dr Richard Hatchett, who advised both the Bush and Obama administrations on pandemic preparedness called the coronavirus "the most frightening disease" he has ever seen, based on both the high rate of infectiousness and lethality. He compared it to the Spanish Flu of 1918 which killed tens of millions.

Also noteworthy, Dr. Hatchett mentioned that the United States is particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 because of a lack of a centralized health system that other advanced industrialized nations enjoy, both in terms of mobilizing an effective response from the various government agencies, state and federal, and also the excessive costs. People will go untreated because they simply can't afford it here.

Yeah Shaw, our GREAT nation and its healthcare system is lagging in many metrics when compared honestly to other industrialized democracies. But never forget, we're EXCEPTIONAL. Especially under Trump. LOL!

Another bit of information for skud:

"Trump says that so far there have been 22 deaths in 546 cases - that's a 4% mortality rate. According to the CDC's website the average mortality rate from seasonal flu is 0.1%. That meas that based on the current trends COVID-19 is 40x more deadly....Of course Trump didn't Tweet that."
