Trump in the Time of Covid-19: "I don't take responsibility at all."

To my P.E. readers:  This blog will no longer accept "Anonymous," or "Unknown" comments.

P.E. has been inundated with nasty anonymous and unknown commenters. I don't have the time to delete them every day, so only people with Google accounts can comment here.  Sorry to do this, but the Trumpers who come here have left some disgusting and even menacing comments. For good mental health, I've eliminated those cowards' ability to comment.

************************************

Here in Boston we have not been put on a "shelter in place" order by Governor Baker, but two places have: Provincetown, Mass., and Nantucket, Mass. As of today, Massachusetts has 646 confirmed Covid-19 cases, and 5 deaths.

Here's a timeline for people to see and determine if, as Trump claims every day, he's been diligent and deserving a "10" in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

FACTS ARE STUBBORN THINGS:

UPDATE:

From Democratic Underground:

"...the Senate right now is McConnell and Trump attempting the biggest outright theft of US funds ever attempted. The core issue causing Democrats to vote "no" on the pending bill is the provision that would hand total control of HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS earmarked for corporations to Trump.

Does ANYONE doubt that he would use this mother of all slush funds to reward his friends, punish his opponents and insure his re-election?

Does anyone doubt that this regime will not cite the "staggering debt" they are creating as a justification for gutting Social Security, Medicare and all social programs?

Please contact your Senators now and let them know you oppose this bill in it's current form."

Way to go Shaw...

If people do not have the barest of real presence, why allow their comments? All they are trying to do is post hit comments behind a myriad of false personas. Why does someone need 5 or 10 sock puppet trolls?

Great decision. One which will not discourage real folks like Skud, Silver, Geez and even AOW, all very conservative, if they so wish.

Cheers!

My father taught me at a very early age (relatively speaking) something Dotard never learned. My dad often said... whenever you're responsoble for something, no matter what it may be, always take personal responsibility for the outcome.

Trump obviously NEVER had any guidance along those lines. The man is totally lacking in emotional intelligence as well.

I certainly understand not allowing anonymous comments but I’m sad as I’m clueless as to when my Possumlady google account pops up that allows me to comment and when it doesn’t and I have to post anonymously. You just do what you have to do. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep in touch occasionally.

Now teleworking into my second week (never had done it before) and will be until at least April 17th. Wishing everyone good health and finances!!

Possumlady, please try to keep in touch. I had to do this because the comments left by the Trumpers were sexual and menacing. This is how the bottom-feeders deal with women who have strong opinions.

I hope you're healthy and safe. Stay in touch. Hugs, Shaw

RN, your father was a wise man. His son learned from a great model.

Dave, I hope this isn't permanent. They're easily distracted, like 2-year olds.

Maybe if the politicians had spent more time protecting the American people instead of spending millions of dollars and thousands of hours trying to impeach and protect the president the outcome would be different. Now we have the democrats and republicans playing politics instead of working toward a solution that both sides caused.

Easy to say this is the presidents fault but this is governments fault now and in 2009. The main function of a government is to protect it's people and deliver the mail. In both cases they have failed.

skud, my friend, did you write that to cheer us up with humor? Because that the silliest thing I've read today.

Trump deserved to be impeached. We have to draw a line with presidents who break the law.
