The Trumpublican Party is interferring with US justice...

to protect one of the most corrupt ex-presidents in American history.

A  Republican-led effort to reprimand District Attorney Fani Willis after she brought charges against former President Donald Trump in Fulton County is poised to expand, as state and federal lawmakers pursue new efforts to sanction the prosecutor.

State Senate Majority Leader Steve Gooch said in an interview that Republican leaders could hold legislative hearings into whether Willis is using “her position in a political manner” after accusing Trump and his allies of a complex conspiracy. The two initiatives are part of a broader effort by Trump’s allies at the Georgia Capitol and the U.S. Congress to punish Willis over the 51-count indictment, which accuses Trump and 18 co-defendants of a sprawling “criminal enterprise” to reverse his 2020 defeat.

U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde wants to use an upcoming appropriations bill to slash federal funding for Willis, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and federal special counsel Jack Smith. Each is a top prosecutor in one of the four cases Trump is currently facing.

"Willis, who has long predicted the attacks, has declined to comment. But the district attorney said earlier this month when announcing the indictments that she acted 'based on the facts and the law.' 'The law is completely nonpartisan,' she said. 'That’s how decisions are made in every case.' "

***************************

This is a peek at where the former Republican Party is going, and that is to no longer respect the separation of powers; to weaken the judiciary; and consolidate power.

This is what Viktor Orban of Hungary would do. It’s a type of soft fascism, and alarm bells should be going off all over America as Trump cultists try to stop Trump from facing the consequences of his illegal plot to steal the 2020 election from President Biden.

Will the American people recognize what they’re seeing in Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, & Missouri? These states are moving towards authoritarian style governments, and more red states are moving in the same direction.

THIS HAPPENED TODAY:

"A federal judge ruled on Wednesday that Rudolph W. Giuliani was liable for defaming two Georgia election workers by repeatedly declaring that they had mishandled ballots while counting votes in Atlanta during the 2020 election.

The ruling by the judge, Beryl A. Howell in Federal District Court in Washington, means that the defamation case against Mr. Giuliani, a central figure in former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to remain in power after his election loss, can proceed to trial on the narrow question of how much, if any, damages he will have to pay the plaintiffs in the case.

Judge Howell’s decision came a little more than a month after Mr. Giuliani conceded in two stipulations in the case that he had made false statements when he accused the election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, of manipulating ballots while working at the State Farm Arena for the Fulton County Board of Elections."

A reminder to never mess around with Black women protecting our democracy. Today, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss won their defamation case against Rudy Giuliani & it is absolutely glorious. They are our heroes. They are the best of our democracy. Thank you, Ruby & Shaye.

Bye bye America and the rule of law.

The great American exeriment in democratic self rule is slowly being manipulated for the purpose of authoritarian person worship by the gop and MAGA's.

All due to tRump's wish to destroy self rule and the rule of law.

I'd have to do some research because I'm old and can't remember but, the republican legislature in Missouri overturned two laws that were voted in by the people. One of them had something to do with guns. Petitions were all signed, put on the ballot, passed by majority vote, and canceled by republicans.

Really, Les?

Do you know how the "Rule of Law" originated?

. . . the advent of Law entails a kind of ‘disalienation’: in so far as the Other itself appears submitted to the ‘absolute condition’ of Law, the subject is no more at the mercy of the Other’s whim, its desire is no more totally alienated in the Other’s desire. . . In contrast to the ‘post-structuralist’ notion of a law checking, canalizing, alienating, oppressing ‘Oedipianizing’ some previous ‘flux of desire,’ Law is here conceived as an agency of ‘disalienation’ and ‘liberation’: it opens our access to desire by enabling us to disengage ourselves from the rule of the Other’s whim.
- Slavoj Zizek, "For They Know Not What They Do"

Trump is being subjected to "the other's whims". Do you think he, and his followers, are thereby being convinced to fear for "the rule of law"?

Desantis may have made a big boo boo. Today he appeared before the media speaking of the Florida floods with three white men, two police officers and one a military man, on the dais with him. He left out a black clergyman, a black po po lieutenant, a coupla overweight negro women, a guy in a wheelchair-preferably of the African variety along with a tall blond ugly white woman with two rainbow buttons on her man suit jacket.
Republicans never learn…

Jimmy Dore? Really?

"James Patrick Anthony Dore (born July 26, 1965) is an American stand-up comedian, political commentator, conspiracy theorist, podcaster and YouTube personality. He is the host of The Jimmy Dore Show, a comedic political talk show on YouTube."

In 2016, Dore informed his audience that it should not “freak out about a Donald Trump presidency,” as the Republican’s election would be “even better for progressives in the short term, meaning in the two-year term, and in four years for sure” than Hillary Clinton’s election would be. No significant constituency on the American left — not trade unions, immigrant-rights groups, Black community institutions, nor health-care justice organizations — shared this assessment. Four years, three Trump-appointed Supreme Court justices, and one Joe Biden presidential nomination later, it is … less than clear that Dore’s judgment was superior to that of every organized left-wing group that is actually accountable to a constituency. And the podcast host’s discernment is further called into question by his promotion of conspiracy theories implicating the DNC in Seth Rich’s death.

"The circumstances of what happened next are still unclear. We know that Seth was abruptly confronted on the street, that he had been on the phone and quickly ended the call. We also know that there were signs of a struggle, including a watchband torn when the assailants attempted to rip it off his wrist. Law-enforcement officials told us that Seth’s murder looked like a botched robbery attempt in which the assailants — after shooting our son — panicked, immediately ran and abandoned Seth’s personal belongings. We have seen no evidence, by any person at any time, that Seth’s murder had any connection to his job at the Democratic National Committee or his life in politics. Anyone who claims to have such evidence is either concealing it from us or lying.

Still, conservative news outlets and commentators continue, day after painful day, to peddle discredited conspiracy theories that Seth was killed after having provided WikiLeaks with emails from the DNC. Those theories, which some reporters have since retracted, are baseless, and they are unspeakably cruel."
--Mary and Joel Rich, Seth Rich's parents

Dore promoted conspiracy theories about Seth Rich's death that were WRONG!

It is no wonder -FJ uses Dore as some sort of intelligence that "knows the truth of what's going on."

Like -FJ, Dore is a conspiracy monger who plays fast and loose with the truth; and, like -FJ, never heard a conspiracy he didn't like and fall far.

Remember, -FJ, your certainty about the Arizona and Wisconsin recounts -- the certainty that those recounts would prove Trump won and the poll workers were crooks?

I do.

And YOU WERE WRONG.

And it had nothing to do with DEEP STATE. You just can't resist falling for and believing in conspiracies.

That Peter3nj is a regular on the Geeez blog, and just recently referred to Ramswamy as "the Ni**er in the wood pile," and he referred to Nikki Haley as a "squaw."

Interesting, because both of those Republicans are of Indian-Asian heritage, and both are Caucasians.

But, that Peter3nj is so marinated in racism and hatred that he can't help himself from referring to anyone who is not lily white as a "Ni**er, squaw," and referring to the people in his quoted post above by their skin color alone, which is the very definition of racism.

And the blog hostess loved what he wrote, because she's just like him.

Funny how the rabid Right's opinion on the "rule of law changes" from Blacks being brutalized by police, to Trump's thugs terrorizing Congress and beating cops to overturn an election.

Their projection is all they have. Trump committed crimes interfering with our election, so they see him being held accountable by justice as "election interference".

Projection. Count on it alawys.

The radical Right are doing their best to undermine the rule of law to protect criminals like the Trump Cartel and crooked cops.

Is Joe Biden under or above the law? How about his son? The laptop was Russian propaganda? That's how you know who is "under" the rule of law, and who isn't.

Shaw Kenawe said...

If Joe Biden or his son are indicted by a court of law for crimes, then they should face the consequences. Period.

So far, President Biden has not been indicted for any crimes, and his son, is still under investigation.

All we know is that Hunter Biden falsely checked a box when applying for a firearm, and he was late in filing his tax returns.

That's it.

You cannot compare the 91 felony indictments and being found liable for rape that Trump is facing with what's going on with Hunter Biden.

There's no comparison with what Trump did and what Hunter Biden is being investigated for.

So far, Kevin McCarthy and his clowns have yet to uncover the smoking gun they keep talking about.

Again, if anything comes to light about any criminal activity by President Biden, he will have to face the consequences. So far, NOTHING.

Same goes for his son.

You forget, -FJ, that we Liberals don't worship Joe Biden, and we're not in a cult.

Dave Miller said...

FJ... no one is above the law. And if Joe Biden has broken the law, then I am sure the GOP will uncover the evidence and the appropriate orgs will charge him.

But regardless of how Biden is handled, do you agree that Trump, in light of the evidence we have seen, should be charged for his offenses and if found guilty in a court of law, be sent to prison?

It's a simple yes or no question. No counter arguments. No other questions. No you tube links. Nothing.

Just a yes, or no.

If you can.

According to -FJ, the Democrats are the ones who killed the rule of law.

Not Trump, not Giuliani, not of the gang that tried to overturn the election of 2020. Not the ex-president who top secret government documents, lied about it, and refused to hand them over when asked again and again. Not the guy who called the Georgia secretary of state and asked him to "find me" 11,780, so he could win Georgia's electoral votes.

It's the Democrats who killed the rule of law by bringing those people who conspired against the United States to install Donald Trump for another 4 years in the WH.

According to -FJ, it's Democrats who killed the rule of law by bringing to justice the men and women who attacked and defaced the US Capitol and who screamed HANG MIKE PENCE! while trying to interfere with the certification of the electoral votes.

We saw it all with our own eyes, and heard it all with our own ears on J6. And we saw and heard all the testimony from Trump's own people who worked for him in his administration, the US Capitol police, the various secretaries of state from the states where Trump and his people tried to steal votes from the lawful winner of the 2020 election, Joe Biden.

It never occurs to -FJ that it is HE who has been bamboozled into believing all of Trump's and his henchmen's lies. It is -FJ who stubbornly will not face reality.

When you can't face reality, accuse those who accept it of "killing justice," and pretend you didn't see and understand what happened in front of your nose.

-FJ is a lost cause. He will NEVER give up his crusade against the Deep State, no matter how evident Trump's crimes are.

-FJ is a lost cause.

Shaw Kenawe said...

-FJ's claim that the Democrats killed justice is emblematic of the paranoid style of American politics:

"Hofstadter wrote, “It is the use of paranoid modes of expression by more or less normal people that makes the phenomenon significant.” A contemporary historian, Bennett Parten of Yale University, wrote last year, “Hofstadter tells us that, at its core, the paranoid style uses conspiracy to engage in subversion. The political paranoiac can’t stomach society as it is and thus seeks to destroy it under the guise of some looming threat, a deep state, antifa, migrant caravans, transgender bathrooms, an international pedophile ring … Those taken with the paranoid style channel their victimhood by believing the world is one vast conspiracy.

Hofstadter saw evidence of the paranoid style in radical movements, mostly on the political right, throughout American history — the Anti-Masonic Party, the Know Nothing Party, the Populist Party, nativist, anti-Catholic, anti-Mormon and anti-Semitic movements, investigations in the 1930s of “merchants of death” (munitions makers and bankers who had supplied and financed World War I), McCarthyism, the John Birch Society. Add to that white supremacists, MAGA enthusiasts who see a gigantic conspiracy to steal the 2020 election, and QAnon adherents who believe Satan-worshipping child sex traffickers are the sinister force controlling U.S. government and world affairs. ”

Seeing reality as it actually unfolds, rather than thinking reality as one imagine it to be, is where folks like FJ miss the boat. Every day. Every time.

When marinating in delusion is all one does the world will natually seem like an unbalanced and scary place. And of course FJ and folks like him are certain they have all the right solutions. Just ask them.

The minority, armed with indoctrinated beliefs and conspiracy are fevered and determined to take America back to that place they want it to be. And to hell with the majority. The ones who haven't completely lost their minds.
