President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House, which is prohibited by the Constitution under the 22nd Amendment, saying in an exclusive interview with NBC News that there were methods for doing so and clarifying that he was “not joking.”
“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call with NBC News, referring to his allies. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”
“I’m focused on the current,” Trump added, in some of his most extensive comments to date about serving a third term.
Imagine former President Obama, or ANY POTUS, saying anything like this! The sailors on the Mother Ship; every FAUX NOOZ talker and viewer; and the entire MAGA universe would have their hair on fire. But here we have Trump threatening to break the law and become a dictator: *crickets*

I'm sure he believes people want him for a third term but there are a lot more who want him for a four month term. His level of narcissism has reached epic levels that will rival stalin n his hey day.
It would take a 2/3 majority to get a change and he would have a difficult time getting 1/3.
If he keeps up his delusional disorder he will rival his predecessor on ability to govern and comprehend what he is doing . The biggest issue is he is doing it not his handlers without his knowledge.

Did you read this AM that France has declared that Marie Le Pen has been found guilty of embezzlement, and France has declared that she can not every run for the presidency? Did you also know that Bolsanaro of Brazil had been arrested for his trying to illegally hang onto power, and Duerte of the Philippines is on trial at the Hague for crimes against humanity?
There are countries smart enough to NOT allow a criminal to regain power as a leader. But the United States is not one of them. We allow convicted felons to regain the highest office in the land, and then threaten to never leave.
We are less democratic than France, Brazil, and the Philippines!

Anyone discounting a 3d Trump term per the 22d am + the 12th am is thinking magically: The 22d dsn’t bar *serving* a 3d term, only being *elected* 3 times. The 12th dsn’t bar running for VP unless “ineligible” to serve as Pres, but Trump isn’t ineligible. QED!

BB... I'm a firm believer that voting for Supreme Court judges is a bad idea. I hated it when I lived in CA and I think it's a democracy killer here in Mexico. let the politicians appoint them, limit their terms to 20 years and call it good.

I have an idea. Well, several but this specific idea focuses on educating folks as to the checks and balances as it pertains to voter security.
Why do I know the votes will be tallied as per how I fill out my ballot? I educated myself in the entire voting process. I got to know my neighbors who volunteer, understood the seriousness they approached their job in certifying each election. When you know the people doing the job your trust level increases, or that's been my experience. And for those who just knowing who is doing the job isn't enough, insist the deniers volunteer for as many elections as it takes for their objections to either get dismissed or answered. Sometimes inefficiencies are exposed in the most serendipitous ways.
So, that's my idea - for every person who has an objection about how our government works they first must dive into the issue they are objecting about and get dirty. Do the jobs that are the heart of the matter. Learn how the processes work before deciding they don't because in many cases what one doesn't know can very much get one killed.
Or am I the only one who remembers the era of "there otta be a law"?
PS - Honestly, if skud didn't display their Democratic Party Derangement Syndrome I'd almost be concerned, so there is that.

Then to the Democrats... Do you believe what Trump is doing in sending innocent people to a prison colony in El Salvador without due process is a violation of the Constitution.
Why aren't all elected officials standing up and talking about the ongoing abuses of the Constitution, to which they all took an oath to support and defend, by this administration?
Dave, The democrats are so engrossed in what trump is doing they are forgetting why they lost the last election and that is they have no plan or platform. Now they are against deporting criminals, stopping illegals from entering the country, support destroying private property because they don't like an individual , have no leadership and are OK with government waste as long as their representatives have enough pork to increase their wealth. That plan didn't work in 2024 so why do they think it will work now.
