BREAKING NEWS

Nigeria has been declared officially free of Ebola after six weeks with no new cases, the World Health Organization (WHO) says.

According to the BBC, the Spanish nurse who was the first person to contract Ebola outside of West Africa has tested negative for the virus (a second test is required before she’ll be officially free of the disease). And the United States has reached an important milestone: the 21-day monitoring period for the 48 people who had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man who died of Ebola in Dallas, ended on Sunday and Monday. Aside from the two nurses who cared for him, there have been no new infections.

TODAY'S REPUBLICAN PARTY

This photo says more about the GOP today than anything I could ever write.
The more we bloggers get this out into mainstream America as an example of the GOP's complete meltdown into hysterical thuggery, the less work we have to do to stop the nonsense.

And here they are at a Tampa town hall meeting in Ybor City [I lived just down the road from there for 10 years]. Here's where these agents provocateur are taking our country. You believe this is spontaneous?

Perhaps there is violence on both sides, since both sides are reporting it from the other...I haven't been to any of these meetings so I can't say I know firsthand of any of this.

bluepitbull: my fabrication reference was to your implied dismissal of the astroturfers...got that, dude.

Are you getting your news from Fox? No violence from the astroturfers? Believe what you want, I guess.

Butch up bluepitbull.

We're counting on you and your ilk to save us from having our heads lopped off by the Islamofascists. Given the problem you guys seem to have in the Town meeting format I'm a little concerned you may not be up the real work ahead.

Cheers!

Obama has caused this! He is intentionally ignoring what the majority of the people want. Sending in his Brownshirts to stir up trouble with law abiding citizens who would like their voice to be heard.

I truly feel that he has intentionally caused this problem knowing that it will cause unrest. Then he can send in the troops to quell the unrest and declare martial law and set himself up as the Chavez/Castro of the USA.
And Queen Pelosi is an ignoramus and will never be anything but not just from this issue but from her trip to Syria, and her asinine accusations of the CIA.

MSO figured it out. Rats!

The forced labor camps aren't quite ready for occupancy though so I suppose the military (they likely can draw on existing plans for the invasion of Buffalo) will just have to shoot protesters until we can intern them.

My Sarc said: "Sending in his Brownshirts to stir up trouble with law abiding citizens who would like their voice to be heard."...that's almost as preposterous as the claims that Bush ordered the attacks on 9-11.

Do you think Obama also having his people call in death threats against himself to pad his security staff budget?

During the Bush years, it was rank and file Democrats who behaved like children. Accusing him of many nefarious things and being proud to put their babies in Tshirts that said: B is a poopyhead. Allowing their teenagers to wear ones that basically advocated killing the president. (was at a party where I actually saw a 16 year old wearing such a shirt, his parents were quite proud)

Now we find that the leadership of the party is no better. They actually have all the power, but are misusing and abusing it. By doing so they are becoming the worst offenders.

All I can say, may this backfire on them big time. Even democrats want to be led by adults, not spoiiled petulant children

Frank the Thinking Man,

Look back in 2001 and look at any reports 6 months into Mr. Bush's administration.

You won't find the mob mentality from the liberals that has taken over the conservative movement.

There was absolutely nothing like this happening to the Bush administration.

What you described are incidents that occurred months after the Bush administration had shown the American people its incompetence and unwillingness to listen to the other side.

Paul Krugman spells this out in his column today.

You can't rewrite history to make it look like the Democrats were doing the same thing 6 months into the new Bush administration. They weren't.

And there were no Congressmen or Congresswomen accusing Mr. Bush of being a non-American, or any other vile accusation to deligitimize him in the eyes of their constituents as the conservatives are doing. You've got members of Congress buying into this crap and its insane.

This behavior makes your side of the aisle look like goons and bullies.

America is watching.

That exact sort of nuttiness did not happen right away in 2001, but Senators and Congressmen such as Conyers and Kucinich did indeed go into such la-la land later on.

So how do you describe the SEIU (Democrat side) lynch mob that attacked a black man at one of the townhall meetings? A beating occured, and 6 people were arrested for ACTUAL thuggery.

That is, REAL violence. Not the "someone said something I did not like" that gets called "thuggery" in this blog.

The SEIU should add three K's to the end of its acronym.

Shaw Kenawe said...

dmarks,

Must you always find isolated instances to justify the conservatives acting like jerks?

What you're doing when you find these little instances, it seems to me, is like saying "Your side acted like juvenile asses, so when we act like juvenile asses, you shouldn't criticize us."

And those are not necessarily equivalent instances either.

I wasn't blogging if and when those confrontations occurred.
I would have spoken out against such tactics.

We're supposed to be a democracy where everyone gets to be heard, not just the loud-mouthed bullies.

But I'm guessing they're taking their marching orders from the loudest radio talk show bully in America.

Arthurstone said...

Personally I wouldn't describe a gang of thugs as a 'lynch mob' without an actual lynching.

I seem to recall a certain dmarks criticizing some 'lefties' for tossing around the term 'terrorists' lightly.

Hmmmmm.

As for Shaw's question:

'Must you always find isolated instances to justify the conservatives acting like jerks?'

The answer is painfully obvious.

dmarks said...

Arthur: They beat up a black man for the "crime" of passing out stickers.

But you do have a point. It's not quite a lynching. Like the cops who beat up Rodney King, the thugs here failed to hang the victim from a tree.

dmarks said...

Shaw: "And those are not necessarily equivalent instances either."

You got that right. The union goons who assaulted the black guy were engaged in actual thuggery. A much more serious than figurative thuggery that has been routinely condemned here (and is not thuggery at all, but is merely a matter of loudmouths shouting over people in a rude fashion).

Not really the same thing at all.

What difference did it make if he was a Black Man or not?
They had no business beating him up or even touching him at all.
These are the new THUGS of America. The Obama Liberal Brown Shits.

Justy: I have no idea how much to connect Obama to it. And the "brownshirts" reference is mere Godwinnery.

But the SEIU does have a reputation such thuggery (even if the target are usually working people).
