Rush Limbaugh: Jared Loughner Has 'Full Support' Of Democratic Party
Speaking on his radio show Tuesday, Limbaugh said that Loughner was getting the exact attention that he wanted:
(Actually, the truth is that Limbaugh is getting the attention he so desperately craves. Why else would he utter such asininity? It's always about him. Poor Limbaugh
"What Mr. Loughner knows is that he has the full support of a major political party in this country. He's sitting there in jail. He knows what's going on, he knows that...the Democrat party is attempting to find anybody but him to blame. He knows if he plays his cards right, he's just a victim. He's the latest in a never-ending parade of victims brought about by the unfairness of America...this guy clearly understands he's getting all the attention and he understands he's got a political party doing everything it can, plus a local sheriff doing everything that they can to make sure he's not convicted of murder - but something lesser."
RUSH LIMBAUGH, DOING A GREAT JOB OF KEEPING AMERICANS AT EACH OTHERS' THROATS.
MAKING STUPID COMMENTS ON A NATIONAL TRAGEDY KEEPS HIS BANK ACCOUNT FAT, AND MAKES HIM PART OF THE PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION.
Steve Benen of Washington Monthly:
"No one could possibly believe this garbage. It's idiotic gibberish, disconnected from reality on multiple levels.
But here's the follow up for any Republican willing to answer: do you agree with Rush Limbaugh's assessment? Do you believe Democrats have offered their "full support" to a gunman who killed six innocent people and tried to assassinate a Democratic congresswoman? Is the GOP also convinced that Democrats want to ensure the killer's acquittal?
Or, for once in their lives, will Republicans have the guts and decency to say, "No, I think Rush Limbaugh is wrong"?
UPDATE I:
From Andrew Sullivan's Daily Dish:
The Poison Of Limbaugh
11 Jan 2011 04:31 pm Very very very few people have contributed more poison and hatred and extremism to the culture than Rush Limbaugh. As every single conservative commentator joins ranks in calling the Tucson assassination a completely apolitical act, and as the right discovers that there is no connection whatever between political culture and political acts, we get this:
"What Mr. Loughner knows is that he has the full support of a major political party in this country."Again, the statement is so offensive and absurd one has to pinch oneself to believe someone actually said that about a mass murderer. No one has said something that crudely partisan about Loughner and the GOP. So this is actually a classic example of what some of us have long been worried about in "conservative" discourse. Limbaugh is not mainstream, you say? National Review just approvingly reprints excerpts from Limbaugh's show. He is untouchable; and his tone will not change.
All Americans of good will should shun this demagogue and the filthy anti-American rot he promotes each day.

Mr. Lumbaugh is an attention whore. He should be ignored.
Just when you think you can't hear anything more stupid, along come Rush to destroy that thought.
Limbaugh can't let any controversy go by without insinuating his prodigious posterior into it.
Not an easy thing to do; but yet he does it.
old rush is just like palin, laughing all the way to bank while the rubes in their audiences drink it all in.
all the world's a stage....
what a sick buffoon!! The rightwing nuts are in defense mode, they are throwing out all they have hoping something will stick....
Give him credit: Every time you think it can't be done, he finds a way to sink lower. It seems effortless, too.
Only his ditto heads would listen to this drug addict. His brain is soaked in paranoia and stupidity.
This gains him attention and that's it.
No serious minded person pays any attention to an asshole like him.
Let me share a hypothesis with you. Lets us assume for argument sake that Beck and Limbaugh get funds from corporatists and plutocrats under the table to distract the public, obfuscate truth, demoralize the opposition, and defend their clients' interests.
I recall reading some time ago that Limbaugh had some kind of connection with the Walton family (of Walmart fame). Same with the Koch family.
If you accept this hypothesis, then nasty, offensive statements by right wing pundits have a certain ... shall we say ... internal logic. If you think in terms of 'psy-ops,' then you understand who Beck and Limbaugh work for and what you are up against.
No, I think Rush Limbaugh is wrong.
I really don't listen to Rush anymore, I guess there's a reason for that. What a hyperbolic statement. So if I have this correct liberals are gonna do everything they can to get this guy off. Did somebody slip acid in Rush's coffee?
Z-man,
No one I know is trying to get Limbaugh off the air. We librals just don't understand where he gets these feverish ideas.
Why would Limbaugh say that a guy who put a bullet in the head of a Democratic Representative has the full support of the Democratic Party?
He sounds like he's taken one too many oxycontins.
What kind of an idiot would say something a bizarre as that?
I think maybe he's getting the little blue babies again behind Dennys.
