Even though Isaac forced the GOP to cancel its first day of the convention, all is not lost!
Tampa and its famous strip clubs eagerly await God's Own Party and all its conventioneers for days and nights of carousing and getting it on. Lap dances! Pole dances! The horizontal tango! Tampa's got something for every RED blooded Republican attendee. And if the GOP's past history of spending and partaaaaay-ing is any indication of how they'll behave, it looks like the strip clubs will have a blowout time!
Who knows, some may even carry on a fine Republican tradition and do some skinny dipping in Tampa Bay!

So, why all this anticipation? Well, an adult industry trade organization says Republicans spend the money.
An informal survey by the association of club executives found that during their conventions in Minnesota and New York, Republicans spent $150-dollars per person at adult clubs.
The Democrats, on the other hand, spent only fifty dollars per person in Boston and Denver.

Democratic-leaning counties spend more after a Democrat is elected president and less after a Republican is (and vice versa for Republicans). Our views of the economy are influenced more than they should be as Democrats or Republicans.

WASHINGTON -- Most Americans say go ahead and raise taxes if it will save Social Security benefits for future generations. And raise the retirement age, if you have to.
Both options are preferable to cutting monthly benefits, even for people who are years away from applying for them.
Those are the findings of a new Associated Press-GfK poll on public attitudes toward the nation's largest federal program.
Social Security is facing serious long-term financial problems. When given a choice on how to fix them, 53 percent of adults said they would rather raise taxes than cut benefits for future generations, according to the poll. Just 36 percent said they would cut benefits instead.
The results were similar when people were asked whether they would rather raise the retirement age or cut monthly payments for future generations – 53 percent said they would raise the retirement age, while 35 percent said they would cut monthly payments.
SAN ANTONIO -- A federal court has found evidence of discrimination in Texas voting maps drawn by the state's Republican-controlled Legislature.
The U.S. District Court in Washington ruled in a lengthy opinion Tuesday that state prosecutors failed to show Texas lawmakers did not draw congressional and state Senate district maps "without discriminatory purposes."
Luis Vera, an attorney for the League of United Latin American Citizens, called the ruling "better late than never" and a win for his and other minority rights groups that sued the state over the maps.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott immediately vowed to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
