General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."
Is making a joke about Christie's girth any different from making a joke about Obama's huge flapping ears? They are both physical attributes and cartoonists make fun of them all the time.
Is making a joke about Christie's girth any different from making a joke about Obama's huge flapping ears?
Also, Obama's doesn't really have huge flapping ears -- they just look prominent because he wears his hair so short. See pretty much any photo of him.
For really ugly taunting, see right-wing blog comments about Hillary's age ("withered hag" and so forth).
More importantly, unlike age or ear shape, an individual's weight is pretty much under their control (except in rare freak cases) and is thus more fair game. It's actually a valid issue about Christie -- in a country with an obesity epidemic emerging as the #1 health problem, is Christie the kind of role model we want as President? Especially in contrast with Michelle Obama, who is weirdly ridiculed by the wingnuts for being too interested in health.
Charlie Pierce writing in Esquire: "As for Christie, he’s a dead man waddling, with nothing left to lose. The governor’s embrace of the Zegas letter is frankly delusional: Chris Christie ran the Port Authority, and looted it, too. From the beginning, his only hope was to portray himself as the innocent victim of folks he trusted. This much is true: He trusted them. Not because they were honest or interested in serving the public good, but because they were not. They were Chris Christie’s chosen thugs, and not for nothing."
Legit or not the criticism will be at the forefront of the news and held to a different standard.
Obama was in charge when the IRS, NSI, illegal arms sales, obamacare rollout, you can keep your doctor and insurance company and yes even bengazi. He said he knew nothing and so be it he wouldn't lie.
Christie says he didn't know about the bridge closing and he is a liar.
what you can NEVER get into your head, skud, is the fact that there were several Congressional committees that looked into all of your pet Benghazis, and NO SCANDALS WERE FOUND.
Tragic mistakes? Yes. But tragic mistakes are not the same as what Christie's closest aides did--and if he knew about the closing when it was happening, then he lied during his 2-hour confession.
You and your fellow yawpers on con blogs keep at that Benghazi non-scandal; but for all the power that the Congressional Republicans have to dig up anything and everything on what happened, they've come up with NO SCANDALS.
NONE!
You and the whiners on those blogs, however, can't accept the truth so you believe if you keep mentioning the non-scandals, they'll will like magical sparkle ponieS become real.
You and they don't know the difference between real scandals and political witch hunts, do you.
No one but your friends on your con blogs listens anymore to your cage rattlings.
A 2200 calorie diet low in fat, vegatable protein, healthy carbs (leafy green veggies), fish, chicken, fruits etc. is what I would recommend and then send him to s licenced nutritionist.
As to exercise, given his girth a challenge. Cardio, and free weight and or cable machine resistance training likely.
To get Christie in shape, 2 to 3 years, depending on how dedicated he might be. My guess, he prefers the big chair or couch over exercise.
Note: Cardio would start with walking, certainly wouldn't want the gentleman to have a heart attack.
"One of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's (R) bodyguards was charged with shoplifting in Berks County, PA. He has since been suspended without pay.
According to CBS Philly, 35-year-old State Trooper William Carvounis was part of "the executive protection unit and had been on Christie's security detail."
Police in Tilden Township, PA, allege Carvounis may have "stolen nearly $300 in gun supplies and other merchandise from a Cabela's sporting goods store." CCTV "also caught Carvounis tearing the price tag from a Cabela's hat, which he wore while trying to leave the store."
When caught, Carvounis told those who apprehended him that he too was in law enforcement and asked "again and again for a little professional courtesy."
Carvounis's lawyer denies that his client was shoplifting or "asking for special treatment.""

Looks like he took the cannolis.
And then the entire bakery!
So insensitive to make fun of morbidly obese people. Here all along I thought progressives were tolerant and sensitive.
Cannolis rock. I might just have to go to LaFlorentino Bakery tomorrow.

I shall be sure to remember that the next time a liberal or progressive gets hot under the collar over similar things.
He should be eating at Subway and doing the move, move, move routine. Eat healthy, exercise healthy.
On second thought rather than cannolis after my gym workout tomorrow it will be a healthy muscle fiber rebuilding protein shake.
Yup, no girth for me!

I actually believe that Mrs. Obama is ridiculed AND fanatically despised by the wingnuts for another reason.
But that's just me.
RN, I'm curious. If Mr. Christie came to you to get in shape. How would you start? What kind of a program would you develop for him.
And Infidel753 is correct about Christie, but I think he'd have been an apt representation of how Americans are perceived: LOUD and overweight.
You may be right, RN, about poking fun at Mr. Christie's girth.
He has enough on his plate already.

It certainly would seem so.
Gov. Kristie Kreme: "I didn't say 'close the bridge,' stupid! I said 'close the fridge!'
word is he is closing the bridge right after the Super Bowl starts and it will cost you a big bag of Doritos to get back to NYC
Is RN a doctor?
CPT
On a lighter note, I notice that Michael Grimm apologized to the reporter he threatened to toss off a balcony.
I don't know if learning that the reporter is the nephew of a "former" boss in the Gambino family had anything to do with the change of heart.

Well possibly because of Omerta, we'll never know.

How many years have you been practicing? How many clients have you successfully used your diet on?
I don't practice, I train.
Note with respect to diet, I discuss, then recommend and refer to a licenced dietician.
That's what I thought.
