General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

Hey TeaPublicans! Make Up Your Minds!
The weak-tyrant, indecisive-dictator, appeaser-war mongerer President Obama is driving them crazy!
No one actually knows what will happen vis-a-vis the Ukraine.
But the TeaPublicans know it'll all turn out WRONG,
I haven't seen any polling data, but I can't help feeling the Republicans will pay some price for this in this year's election. Surely voters in the political center will be turned off by these obsessive attacks on the President in the context of a foreign-policy crisis.
Pretty accurate Shaw... When Obama pushed for extending the payroll tax cuts, the GOP opposed tax cuts.
When Obama pushed for a health care plan the GOP imagined in the 90's, as opposed to a gov't system, the GOP opposed the plan.
When Obama proposed cutting Medicare by 700 Billion, an actual cut that the GOP wanted, they of course opposed it.
And of course, in their minds, Obama was never qualified to be president because he was born in a foreign country. Yet for some reason, this logic does not extend to Senator Cruz.
I am wondering what ever happened to the "Loyal Opposition". There was a time when the party out of majority would offer valid, constructive, if alternative views that would help guide the President and the country.
Now....not at all. And it is sad and a waste. My most conservative and even moderately conservative friends have come to the conclusion that a majority oof the Republican Party will not cooperate with anything the President will do or say and even go to great lengths to criticize or obstruct.
Anecdotal, to be sure, but it reminds me of a conversation my ex and I had with the Daughter, Wonder Girl, when she was about six years old. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "A waitress," she said. "But you could be a teacher, a scientist, and inventor...even a Senator or President," we said. "No," the astute Girl Wonder replied. "Everyone likes the pwerson who brings you pancakes and eggs....but everyone hates the President."
She is now teaching eco-science and conservation in the mountains of Wyoming...K thru 8,field trips and overnights in the woods.
She still likes going out for breakfast....and tips well.
All that went out the window with the 2008 election when the leader said, we won you lost. He drew the line and now wines about not being treated fairly.
Compromise is something either side will do but they both are good at blaming the other.
There was also a time when a retired president did not criticize a sitting president but Carter changed all that.
skudrunner, as usual, takes a quote out of context and uses it as an example of Mr. Obama's "arrogance."
That's skud's hackery at its finest. Here's what skud is talking about, and here's the, y'know, truth about that statement:
"[T]he widely reported exchange [between House Republicans and the President] happened at a bipartisan White House confab on the economic stimulus package just days after Obama's inauguration.
ABC News's Jake Tapper posted a pretty thorough chronicling of the event. Here's the key passage.
"House Republicans have been complaining about not being consulted, and as Cantor explained the details of some of the ideas he and his GOP colleagues would like to see in the package, President Obama read the one-pager and told him, "Eric, I don't see anything crazy in here."
Among some of the things Republicans requested: tax deductions for some small businesses, making unemployment benefits tax free and a provision that would let businesses losing money carry the losses over to pay fewer taxes in a different fiscal year.
Mr. Obama did voice opinion on some differences on the issue of whether the lowest individual tax rates should be cut from 15 percent to 10 percent and from 10 percent to 5 percent.
As the president, he had told Kyl after the Arizonan raised objections to the notion of a tax credit for people who don't pay income taxes, Obama told Cantor this morning that "on some of these issues we're just going to have ideological differences."
The president added, "I won. So I think on that one, I trump you."
And as Jonathan Weisman of the Wall Street Journal reported at the time, Democratic and Republican aides "who heard the remarks stressed that it wasn't as boldly partisan as it might sound."
Yes, I've written about this before. But it bears repeating. When faced with two competing ideas, it is the president's job to decide which one to accept. The American people elected Obama to make decisions, and he made no secret of which way he'd go... ultimately, the buck stops with Obama because, as he said, "I won."
okjimm, the "Loyal Opposition" turned into the "Kamikaze GOP." They don't care how much wreckage they create so long as they can make Mr. Obama look bad.
Just observe their yammering about the Ukraine situation, as an example of hoping for failure, and giving comfort to the ex-Soviet KGB strongman, Putin.
In my lifetime, I've never, never seen such toxic hatred against one's own country. And make no mistake, Mr. Obama represents the United States of America.
Infidel753, the voting public's memories are short and the Koch brothers are billionaires.
Dave, all one has to remember is the GOP's strategy the night before Mr. Obama took his oath of office: Obstruct everything, even anything we've agreed on in the past. If Obama proposes, we oppose.
Like you said, voters have short memories and No one would believe the delays in full implementation of obamacare are political. After all, when obama shut down the government instead of delaying implementation of obamacare, there was no way it was going to not go as planned.
Why is the left not outraged at the delays in the full implementation of obamacare, after all look at all the part time jobs it will create.
Ain't gonna criticize the left, ain't gonna criticize the right. All things come out in the wash one way or the other.
The reality of it all is overreacting is usually a mistake. Putin over reacted, although I understand why he did. Having a seaport is important. Obama overreacted although I understand why he did. Liberty is important.
So, if Obama gets European and general world support he wins, Putin loses. I noticed the Russian stock market has lost 12B as of this afternoon?
I will hand it to obama for his tough stance today. He unfriended Putin on Facebook, bold move on his part.
What, specifically, do you guys think Obama should be doing that he is not doing? Anybody can point at him and say he's not doing enough. What specific steps do you want him to take that he's not taking?
'Count Texas Sen. Ted Cruz among the growing ranks of Republicans who want to shut down the government – because Republicans always look good when threatening a shutdown – over the party's Quixotic quest to repeal the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.'

so first he says Obama 'shut down the government because he would NOT delay implementation...then he asked why we are not OUTRAGED BECAUSE HE DELAYED IT.
boy and howdy...Skud is a delayed thinker who repeatedly shuts down his rational. There seems to be some glints of reasoning in SOME of his more lucid quips....but he credibility has gaps you could drive a RV through.
he deserves scorn, and ridicule...and maybe some Prozac...but he earns nothing in rebuttal. Martha Stewart shows more rational thought while baking a cake. sheesh.

Thus far, here is the score:
Broken clock - 2
Republicans - 0

This is a mighty consistent group.
Consistently incoherent.

"...we are the racist, birther idiots, the people who say Obama is the worst president yet they have lived through."

That did get a laugh.

H.T.C.C.G.G.,
I'm glad to see one of you admit as much.
It's been their strategy for 5 years.
(O)CT(O)PUS, that made my day, so far.
I will hand it to obama for his tough stance today.
He unfriended Putin on Facebook, bold move on his part.
I actually support the idea of not intervening in civil disputes. Once there is a winner, we can pick sides same as we did in Egypt and Syria.

Carry on all...
In order to make up your mind, you have to have a mind. So far, I've seen little evidence of minds in the TPers.
I will hand it to obama for his tough stance today. He unfriended Putin on Facebook, bold move on his part.
