Trump Has "Pretty Good With The Body Language"
During the Commander in Chief forum on Wednesday night, Trump made an ignominious fool of himself, again, by characterizing his briefing session with intelligence officials as a "body language" reading session where he "could tell" the officials weren't happy with how President Obama, former Secretary of State Clinton, and the present Secretary of State Kerry rejected the intelligence community's recommendations by their body language -- and Trump is really, really good at reading body language, believe him.
TRUMP: “What I did learn is that our leadership, Barack Obama, did not follow what our experts and our truly — when they call it intelligence, it’s there for a reason — what our experts said to do,” the Republican presidential nominee said during an NBC forum on national security. “And I was very, very surprised. In almost every instance, and I could tell, I have pretty good with the body language, I could tell, they were not happy. Our leaders did not follow what they were recommending,” he said.
Well. Whom should we believe? The man who has been checked for telling the truth 6 ways to Sunday and found to be a championship liar or the intelligence experts who know better?
Decisions, decisions.
Here's what the intelligence experts have to say about Trump's embarrassing performance:
Intelligence officials immediately put Trump on blast for his comment, saying it was “unlikely” the officials gave Trump the slightest indication on their feelings toward the administration and “unprecedented” that Trump would discuss what happened in the briefing at all.
The Washington Post‘s Greg Miller writes: “The assertion was delivered as a throwaway line during a lengthy discussion of foreign policy. But among U.S. intelligence officials, Trump’s claim amounts to an accusation of a serious breach of professional ethics.”
Paul Pillar, a former high-ranking CIA analyst, said: “Those selected for this task would have been the most professional of an elite corps of intelligence officers. One of the last things they would do is express either verbally or through body language preferences.“
Michael Morell, a former deputy CIA director and Clinton endorser, put it more bluntly saying that Trump has “zero understanding of how intelligence works,” also telling NBC: “This is the first time that I can remember a candidate for president doing a readout from an intelligence briefing, and it’s the first time a candidate has politicized their intelligence briefing.
Both of those are highly inappropriate and crossed a long standing red line respected by both parties. To me this is just the most recent example that underscores that this guy is unfit to be commander in chief.”
A former CIA officer under the Bush Administration David Priess, said: “This is unprecedented. We’ve had other presidential candidates mention that they got a briefing and talk in platitudes about it. We’ve never had somebody talk about what happened in a session."
From NBC news via my friend, Leslie P.
“As U.S. officials cast doubt on Donald Trump’s claim he read the ‘body language’ of intelligence officials at a recent briefing, NBC News has learned exclusive details of what unfolded in the room — one of Trump’s advisers repeatedly interrupted the briefers until Chris Christie intervened.”
“U.S. official pointed out that intelligence officers don’t give policy advice, so it would be inaccurate to say that Obama failed to follow the advice of the intelligence community. A second U.S. official said analysts are trained not to allow their body language to betray their thinking.
Meanwhile, four people with knowledge of the matter told NBC News that one of the advisers Trump brought to the briefing, retired general Mike Flynn, repeatedly interrupted the briefing with pointed questions.”
“Two sources said Christie, the New Jersey governor and Trump adviser, verbally restrained Flynn — one saying Christie said, ‘Shut up,’ the other reporting he said, ‘Calm down.’ Two other sources said Christie touched Flynn’s arm."

Too bad he has so dismal with the English language. I could imagine at least an invasion or two happening because the military had the can't figure out what the hell he's telling them to do.
His blabbing about the briefing like this shows an utter lack of respect and understanding. Let's hope at least ex-military people who are free to speak their minds start doing so more.
Trump bragged about having 88 retired military personnel supporting him.
Meh. Hillary saw the 88 and raised him 7.
Here's PM Carpenter on Trump supporters:
A superiority complex of towel-snapping white male morons who are so moronic as to believe that Donald Trump is qualified to be president of the United States. (As for the five or six women who support Trump, at the risk of again being labeled misogynistic, I can only say that they're probably less moronic than simply insane.)
And what's this about HRH possibly having an earpiece during last night's townhall "debate" with Trump?
I learned about it from the Gateway Pundit and Breitbart, so I'm positively certain, dahlings, that it is true. I am, afterall, a veddy well informed Republican woman who believes the veddy fine research those two organizations provide to people like me, willing to believe any smear and rumor against The Hildebeast!
Lady Pinkbottom, thank you for the "heads...I mean ears-up" on another stupid rumor about Secretary Clinton. It is as dumb as their newest shiny object -- claiming Secretary Clinton has Parkinson's disease -- this was diagnosed, I was told, by a doctor who has never examined Mrs. Clinton in person, ever.
But the lunatics on the right believe it with all their nasty little shriveled-up hearts. Of course they do. They also believe the Short-Fingered Vulgarian will be their next president.
I found this on Science Blogs about the ridiculous rumor about Hillary and Parkinson's disease. Crikey, the people who spread these sort of lies and rumors are pathetic idiots who believe any bullcrap that slanders Clinton, and they lap it up just the way they lap up the b.s. Trump feeds them. But who's surprised? If you're stupid enough to support the Horse's Ass, you're stupid enough to believe any phantasmagorical rumor put out on the intertubz:
"...it should come as no surprise that Vox is totally down with that observation because…”experts.” It’s hilarious to me how Vox castigates legitimate experts who point out that his beliefs are nonsense, but says this about people who support his beliefs, like Dr. Ted Noel, an anesthesiologist who has concluded through a fair amount of contortions of logic, that Hillary Clinton “probably” has Parkinson’s disease:
That is the conclusion of a a board-certified Anesthesiologist with 36 years of experience, backed up by the observations of a) a victim of Parkinson’s Disease and b) a registered nurse who cares for patients with Parkinson’s Disease.
First off, being a “board-certified anesthesiologist” has little or nothing to do with expertise in neurology or Parkinson’s disease. Yet, note how Vox emphasizes that he has 36 years of experience, presumably at anesthesia. I’m sure he’s a perfectly capable anesthesiologist, but he’s no more qualified to diagnose Parkinson’s disease than any other non-neurologist, probably less, given his high degree of specialization."
I've been thinking about Trump's claim that he has a super secret, can't fail plan to defeat ISIS. Yeah I know, despite the fact that he's going to give the generals he doesn't fire, 30 days to come up with a plan. If there was a President Trump in office now, I'd expect him to rendition and torture anyone that had a plan to defeat ISIS and would not divulge it. He sure is lucky we don't have a President Trump now.
As are we all.
