General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

"Wow! What a crowd! What a turnout!"

IT'S ALWAYS, ALWAYS ABOUT HIM.

The so-called POTUS was absolutely giddy with excitement as he surveyed the crowd in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Tuesday afternoon. His supporters were there to see the 30 Percent President, and that's all that mattered to the malignant narcissist. I don't recall seeing him or his runway model wife greeting or speaking with any of the victims of Harvey's devastation.

Both Lord Dampnut and his consort used their appearances as a product placement opportunity to sell their $40 hats that are for sale only on Lord Dampnut's website.

What better time or place for the Trumps to make a profit than during an epic catastrophic flood? If there's money to be made, why not? Lord Dampnut was elected by many Americans because he is a businessman, and why shouldn't he make money anywhere he can while presidenting? Even if it's during a disaster?

Here are Lord Dampnut's inspiring words to the people in Texas who've lost everything, except their lives:

"We want to be looked at in five years, in 10 years from now as, this is the way to do it,” the president said on Tuesday. “We want to do it better than ever before.”

How comforting to the victims of the flood to hear that their preznit will be praised years from now for doing a heckava job!

And selling hats.

America grows weary. Oh so weary.

The White Supremacists on the right wing blogs are on the defensive over the Trumps horrid response to Hurricane Harvey. That's good. Keep defending the indefensible and you'll always look weak. Trump's approval on the job? 16%. Who are these dregs who keep defending the Nazi Sympathizer?

PM Carpenter:

"[Trump's] responses to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey have been more focused on the power of the storm and his administration’s response," notes the Washington Post, "than on the millions of Texans whose lives have been dramatically altered by the floodwaters." The drama will intensify — fast — as Trump's bluster is drowned out by the daily reality of untold devastation.

"It’s catastrophic, not epic," said former Obama aide Alyssa Mastromonaco. "They have no idea the damage that’s been incurred and how many people will need a place to live when this is over." Nonetheless, "the president seemed to be stopping just short of declaring victory over Harvey," reports Politico.

I call them the Dead Enders. And they're terminal. They refuse to see what is in front of their noses.

At this point, who cares? Tyrants have always had hangers on, cheering them even as they go down to defeat.

SAD!

Trump, once again, demonstrates what a bad president he is. He didn't even go to Houston, talk to first responders, or comfort any victims. He was more interested in photo ops and selling overpriced hats.

As much as this highlights what an uncaring, selfish, and despicable piece of huge human flesh that Trump really is if it helps to insure a landslide loss in 2020, well, there will be that...

Jerry, Trump was his natural narcissistic self, and his wife was just plain clueless. Today The Hill reported that just 16% of the American people approve of how he behaves as president. His clueless supporters think the American people like Trump. Ha! They've never ventured into reality, why would that change now?

We don’t have a Benghazi president, a woman who was caught off guard and covered her mistakes with deliberate lies. We have for Texans and all Americans ….

A Real President who doesn't try to cover up his ridiculous lies!

And we eat them up. NOM! NOM! NOM!

So the president of the US goes to a national disaster area to show support and the leftists are up in arms about what shoes his wife is wearing. I always thought the democrats were all about supporting and helping the poor and those who cannot help themselves. The majority of the people being rescued and put in shelters are those same people. Our president goes to the area to provide encouragement and he gets attacked by the left. If he didn't go he would be attacked by the left also.
We have a national disaster going on but it is the shoes that matter not helping people in need.

You are correct Les, we are getting tired of this but lets stay divided over stupid stuff instead of coming together as a nation.

Watch the volunteers in Texas who came from all over to help and you will see what Americans are made of, at least those that want to help others.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... you are probably right. We should not focus on the appearance or outfits a first lady is wearing because to do so would be petty, cheap, demeaning and divisive. And we should automatically approve of, and applaud whatever a president does when he visits a disaster area, even if it involves shaking hands and hugging a member of the opposite political party. Because to do otherwise would be seen as political, unhelpful and childish.

It should be above the left and democrats to trivialize anything that a president tries to do to support the American people.

The left probably shouldn't point out that when majority Democratic states needed monetary help from the feds for recovery, one state that is gonna need a lot of help now had almost their entire delegation saying no funds without equal cuts elsewhere in the budget. Nope, the left should probably not point that out, or act in a similar way. Because to do so would reek of petty partisanship and would be downright cruel when people need help and support from their elected leaders.

Your snark is evident.

skud: "Our president goes to the area to provide encouragement and he gets attacked by the left."

Sorry, skud, but your preznit went to a disaster area wearing a $40 hat that he advertises on his website, and at the almost disaster site (he was never in Houston) he whooped it up by yelling "What a crowd! What a turnout!" He thought he was at an "I love me, Trump!" rally instead of consoling and comforting the victims of the tragedy. He's a grandstanding embarrassment who proves again and again that he hasn't an ounce of human empathy in his bloated, narcissistic body. And his #3 wife isn't much better.

Only 16% of Americans approve of how he behaves as president. I guess you're one of the 16 percenters. The massive majority of Americans are sick of his narcissistic act.

skudrunner said...

I guess in retrospect he should have followed the lead of his predecessor and gone to California and attended a fundraiser with his fellow millionaires.

Instead of supporting the rescuers in Texas the left spends it's time criticizing Trump. You may want to listen to people affected by this disaster because their view of the Presidents visit is different from that of the coasties and of course the desert preacher.

Did you see where the GDP hit 3%. First time in over ten years. Now he proposes a tax cut for the middle class and eliminating many deductions for the rich. It does scare the left that he may get something done for all Americans after the disaster of eight years of the special interest president.

BTW, I support the President of the United States not necessarily DJT.

skud: "Instead of supporting the rescuers in Texas the left spends it's time criticizing Trump."

Actually, we lefties can do two things at once: We support the rescuers and we criticize Trump at the same time. Today Trump tweeted this lie:

"After witnessing first hand the horror & devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, my heart goes out even more so to the great people of Texas!"

He wasn't at the disaster and he never got near any of the victims, but he can't help himself because he's a pathological liar. The WH had to amend that statement and admit he didn't witness the devastation "first hand." But Trump always needs to make himself out to be a hero. It's what charlatans do when they know deep down how inadequate a human being they are.

All skud can do is drag Barack Obama into the discussion, and that's a YUGE mistake because Trump always comes of looking like a third-rate used car salesman when anyone brings up Barack Obama's presidency.

But it's heroic of you, skud, to continue to make excuses for this wrecking ball of a presidency.

PS, Who's the "desert preacher?"

Shaw Kenawe said...

You may need to pay attention to this, skud:

56 percent of Americans believe that Trump is “tearing the country apart” compared to only 33 percent who say he’s “bringing the country together.” He’s a disaster in a disaster.

I remember the right wingers bellowing about how divisive President Obama was. He wasn't.

Trump is.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... your facts are wrong again. The GDP was at 3% for the second quarter of 2017. We got that number three times during the Obama Admin. So Trump lied.

His ten year quote, that your sucked up like a lap dog, included the Bush years so he could bring down the Obama numbers.

Even if that was not his reason, he was comparing 1 quarter with an the 8 years of the Obama Admin. Very intellectually dishonest.

Les Carpenter said...

Shaw and Dave, regardless of the facts the hard right is not going to acknowledge or accept what is demonstrably the truth.

After supporting the conservative arguments for 20 years I came to understand they were, for the most part, smoke and mirrors. Which is not to say the left doesn't spew a bit of smoke and hold up mirrors from time to time. It is clear however, at least to the honestly analytical mind, that the right is by far the smokiest and mirror laden ideology.

skud is very likely one who is comfortable believing what he wants to believe regardless of evidence to the contrary. Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Both parties have proved time and again that they answer to the monied interests and themselves only. But with all its warts, the Democratic Party still represents more closely my values, and since we have only two major (Dems and Repubs) and three minor (Independent, Green, and Libertarian) parties, there isn't much of a choice.

I've said for years that we need term limits for the legislators. They readily passed a Constitutional amendment for limiting the term of a president, but where is the legislation to limit Congressional terms?

The national GOP is unrecognizable as a political party -- it's more of a grievance and raging revenge party than anything else. There are, however, remnants of real Republicans around the country. Look to our own governor of Massachusetts, I don't agree with him on every issue, but Charlie Baker is a decent, honest, sane politician (imagine that!), and he's the most popular governor in the country -- a Republican in a blue, blue state

Does Baker represent hope for the GOP, RN?

PS Baker did NOT support the Liar-in-Chief.

skudrunner said...

Dave, three times in ten years is nothing to brag about but I will take some growth instead of the miserable performance of the past ten years. Even though Ms Shaw may differ I don't blame Obama. He had an agenda and growth was not on his plate. Pandering to special interests and the rich was and it turned out well for him. Now he is part of the elite multi millionaires.

We have one political party and it should be recognized as the Unity party. Most politicians start out wanting to do the right thing but money and power get in the way. We give them elite status and reward them with vast amounts of power and money and they do not want to lose that. They argue in public and go to dinner together paid for by a lobbyist and congratulate themselves on a great job they are doing.

Both parties are unrecognizable and pander to the rich while saying they car for all Americans which is a total lie.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... we both live with popular GOP Governors. Nevada went HRC all the way... every state office went Dem. The legislature went Dem.

But Brian Sandoval is very popular here in the home of Sin City.

I think it's because guys like that have to have some pragmatism to get things done. It's not all about Ideology...

Les Carpenter said...

In answer to your question,Yes, at least for me, Baker does represents hope for the GOP. However, given present realities it is a slim hope. Unfortunately for America... IMO.

Les Carpenter said...

Dave, ABSOLUTELY agree.

skudrunner said...

Dave, I agree with you totally. Ideology only serves the needs of a few.
